I recently lost my dad less than six months after losing my mom. I drive trucks so was not able to get there in time to see either of them before they passed. Watching your videos has helped me cope because you remind me so much of my dad. He wasn't big on firearms, but your mannerisms, the way you talk... you even look a little like him. I just want to say thank you for making such great content and I really hope that I get the opportunity to meet you one day. God bless, srat safe, and live every day knowing you make a difference. ❤
I bet your parents are very proud of you
@@ElfCrotchPuncher Thank you.
Sorry , I know how you feel .
Sorry for your loss.. That's tough........
@@fmolds thank you.
“If you don’t have a revolver, there’s something wrong with you.” Hickok45’s best line ever!
Wow that got to hurt bro
I got three of em. Two of em are fancy. Got a Dan Wesson 744 from the 70's or 80's, and a 2nd generation mint condition Colt detective special in .38sp.
Except for the grip, looks like a Ruger Security Six 2:16
Growing up watching cop tv shows and movies from the 1970's and early 80's, I just love a blued steel .357 Magnum revolver. It looks like Henry did a really good job with it.
They did. Henry is awesome. I'm Henry and my old Winchester for life. Non better.😊
It is a nice blue job.
Not a $1000 gun in my opinion, can buy similar looking revolvers for half the price.
@@Master_Yoda1990 do you really tho? $1000 is around the same as similar models from s&w at least, so doesn't seem that unreasonable if the quality is all right
@@realEchoz yeah, I found blued revolvers from Cimarron in .357 with walnut grip for just over $500, also found S&W model 18 for $700, an Uberti 1873 El Patron .357 for $600, a Pietta 1873 Great Western 2 .357 for $600, Ruger GP100 for $800, EAA Windicator for $380, Taurus 605 for $390, Taylor's Cattleman for $530. Shall I go on?
Love the look of these revolvers. Reminds me of like what a depression era revolver would look like
The Henry Big Boy looks like every cartoon and comic strip depiction of a non-descript revolver, ever. It's a mishmash of visual style in a way that brings familiarity to mind, while not copying any style that came before it. For that reason alone, it's unique and awesome.
I would have to get some new grips 😂
Henry Repeating Arms started in 97/98 I believe. I bought a golden boy and big boy that were both made in Brooklyn, NY. Great rifles.
Henry has been diversifying a lot the last few years. They First they added more lever action options, some with King's gate loading. Then they came out with the Homesteader, a 9mm semi-auto, but they kept their classic style they have so it does not seem too out of place in their line-up. Now these revolvers, which are new designs, but have a classic feel. Looks like they have not been sitting idly by hoping the lever actions stay popular.
I've been loving my Homesteader so far. It has better wood than my 1976 Marlin 336, hands down, and it isn't meant to be a "work of art" type rifle.
@@tommyw.9424 I have tested one it. Seems like a good carbine. Low recoil, but it better be since it is like 7lb, ha.
That brass and wood birdshead grip has always been my dream revolver grip. Was planning to someday customize an Uberti revolver from extra special order parts. Yet here we are!
I think Henry did a pretty good job on those revolvers. It's a completely new design but still has the traditional look of the classics. It would look right at home next to a Smith or a Colt.
Perhaps High Standard or H&R?
*It always blows my mind when I see that your channel has had well over TWO BILLION VIEWS. That's BILLION!! Keep up the great work Good Sir!*
A Henry revolver, and a Big Boy .357 carbine, would make for a fine home defense kit.
After many years of watching your channel, I have come to understand a gentleman's review. I thank you for that. A good solid revolver made by a good solid company. I am curious as to why there was no mention of the trigger pull at DA or SA. Sometimes that says more than not. Appreciate your honesty and integrity, thank you.
Exactly, what about that trigger ?
You can rest assured...if you spend your money on a Henry, you're buying a quality firearm. Also, by far the best customer service in the industry, if you did have an issue.
Amen
I have 3 Henry rifles . A 30-30 steel . A brass bigboy .44. And a fronter .22.to say that made in USA does matter. I'm Henry for life. They have filled my freezer every year for years. I hunt and do not baby my rifles. Winchester is the same to me. Henry and Winchester for life 😊😊 God bless
I will never buy anything other than Henry, Winchester, and Ruger. I'm old school. God bless
100%
When I started buying Henry firearms at the turn of this century, if I called Henry, I was able to speak directly to Anthony. I've spoken to him a number of times over the years, and I can say he and the company care about all their customers.
I've never had to return a Henry. I still own my original Big Boy 44, stamped Brooklyn NY, where they started.
Load on Sunday and Shoot All Week Long. Made in America, or not made at all.
America works when you buy American. Keep your neighbors employed.
I love to see this gentleman passion for guns.
You makes me remember my grandfather a lot... i miss him so bad...
Thanks for the review. I bought a Henry 44 Carbine last year after all of your advising how everyone needed a Lever gun.😂 I love it and it’s a beauty hanging from the Henry display box.
So glad to see a hickock45 video on this firearm.
I have been watching your videos for about 10 years you always have something new to teach thank you
This is the video I've been waiting for ever since Henry said they were coming out with this gun!! Thanks for reviewing it!!
The style of this revolver and it's function is EXACTLY what I've been looking for
I like the Henry revolver!!Has the look of an old style, maybe 1800 early 1900s,especially with that birdshead grip!!!Henry are quality firearms!!I'm a colt & Smith guy too, have many, but this is different COOL!!
Awesome Henry big boy 357 thanks for sharing Hickok45
Had no idea Henry was producing revolvers now. Cool.
Little Boy!!! Like a derringer!!! That’d be so cool , great idea!!!
id like to see them make a .22WMR five shot, similar to NAA but with brass highlight and slightly bigger
They can have their magazin capacity and their polymer grips and their fancy designs...for me, revolver rules and this one is a beauty: the black surface, the brass, the classic shape - this a match. I even like the birdheadgrip! In Hickocks hands it looks like a pocketrevolver ;)
It looks like a good quality, standard, no bells and whistles, properly-sized revolver with a wood grip. That's exactly how I like them.
Thanks again Hickok for your informative videos.
I've been a gun own all my adult life!
That thing is beautiful. Very nice finish on the metal parts. I love the brass and mahogany look.
Henry has really diversified it's lineup here recently and that's a great thing.
I'm really glad you got one of these to review. Great video Sir.
I love Hickok's dry humor, it's funny because as tall as he is, it goes right over the top of a lot of people's heads. LOL!
An example of a honourable old-man doing great things.
I love my revolvers !!! 38+p , 357 and my favorite 44mag
Es un revolver simplemente hermoso y justo para el campo😎☝️
Been hoping to see this gun reviewed by you! Trying to find one of my own, but they still seem pretty scarce, not quite in every gun store yet.
They look great, hoping eventually they make an all blued version. The brass looks great, but I'd love to have one match my levergun.
Looks like an alternate universe version of the Colt Thunderer or Lighting.
I like it! Thanks for another great video.
I think the biggest thing it has going for it is that it does not have an horrendous asinine lock-hole on the left side of it.......
That gun looks CLEAN!! especially with the brass!
It's similar to the revolvers of the 50's and 60's. My Dad carried a Colt snubnose as a plainclothes detective.
Not really sure I will buy one but I do love the look of it. Classic looking with the perfect Henry twist on it. Hopefully they offer more variety
Sort of reminds me of the old H and R revolvers. I got to go back and look at one.
Nice revolver! This will be a must for Henry fans. You know the ones who have every Henry model already.
I don’t have all of them yet, think we have 4 of them currently lol but I’ve already got colts and smiths matching the cartridge selection to pair them with. Maybe some day I’ll get one of the Henry revolvers but there are far to many other firearms above it on the list. Still wanting a FK BRNO 7.5
Nice revolver!
Thx for the review! You are right in that it is something different. Like it or not H45, it seemed you could hit just fine with it. Cool revolver!
I do love my Henrys. May have to add this to them
I believe these will be great.... And gives you great compatibility of ammo, kinda like in the old west days .. lots of cowboys carried pistols and rifles in the same caliber.
The Henry Big Boy revolver is just a beautiful looking sidearm!!!
This is as close that Hickok gets to saying he isn’t a fan of this revolver. He’s not saying it’s a bad choice, just not his choice.
It’s a beauty! Love Henry firearms.
Reminds me a lot of the older colt police positives or the earlier model 10s
It great to see another blued revolver being produced. But Henry really dropped the ball, in not making a single action to complement their Levers...
The Vaquero could use some competition!
I’d love to see a SSA/Vaquero type single action from Henry. Something with a transfer bar 👍🏻
I thought exactly the same thing. I like Henry but I just grimace every time I look at this one. I’ll stick to their lever guns tyvm.
There's a zillion SA revolvers out there, glad to see a good DA.
@@user-hd5jl3ui7jThere were D.A. revolvers as well, in the cowboy era. Billy The Kid favored them.
こういう銃身周りがすっきりした古めかしいリボルバー好き。
I love the look of the trigger. It looks massive and wide for a good feel and pull.
I've genuinely been waiting for this video since these were announced
Love Revolver Guns♥️♥️♥️🇹🇭🇺🇲🏹
I like it especially the grips and the brass. Nice revolver
Nice oldschool revolver. Best regards from Germany 🙂
Wow! I’ve been out of the firearm loop for awhile and had no idea Henry makes revolvers now! Great review as always sir! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I like it. I don’t want the same thing just with a different brand name, I like a variety. There’s things I really like, and things I’m not crazy about on the Henry rifle from looking at it but I have yet to put my hands on it. Will deff keep my eyes out for one.
It's such a sleek and simple firearm.
Thank you for your kind words mr. hickok.
Call of Duty MW2 and The Walking Dead made me fall in love with Colt DA/SA revolvers, but I love the aesthetic of this revolver and I need to find a reason to buy this all American art piece
When you enhance the graphics on a Charter Arms Bulldog:
Exactly with MIM parts!
Greetings from southern Brazil !
Floripa aqui kkkkkk
That is a very nice revolver.
I prefer a smith & wesson too. But henry makes good stuff, happy to see more quality firearms made in 🇺🇸 be it rifles or revolvers
Been waiting for you to do a review on this. Definitely want to add it to my collection
Love the look!
I'd also love to see nickel combined with that brass and darker wood.
Good name in firearms. As honest as it gets.
This is a well built revolver. Quality bluing. Excellent fit and finish. Great trigger. Many will complain about the price, but I will tell you it is quality all the way. Offhand with 110 .357 ammo, bullets touching at 7 yards. Obviously it can do the job.
As an old duff I actually like the look of it beautiful bluing and it sounds solid. Nice gun.
there's something about this gun that reminds me of old cap guns I'd buy as a kid in the UK. Not just that it's a revolver but this specific one
Henry products are exceptional!
It looks amazing!
Hickok.
I got three.
Ruger SP101 327 fed.
Colt Peacemaker 22 lr/mag
Rossi Circuit Judge 45/410
Henry is top notch, heirloom quality.
Revolvers wont let you down. You just need to know your limitations. Six rounds,... six hits. That Henry is a good looking revolver!
While I am a Smith & Colt fan, I have to notice that the designs have remained basically the same for the last 120 years, with improvements of course. There is a lot of room for modern design improvements which it looks like Henry has taken advantage of.
I have number 669. Birds head. It's a beautiful revolver. I bought mine on the waiting list. No matter if it's loved or hated, low number will make it a classic in time.
It seems they do take pride in what they turn out. That's always good.
Having adjustable sights from the box is nice.
I like it, so much like my .357 colt 1965 '' trooper ''.
2:20 Well, Chiappa Rhino actually uses a more or less unique cylinder release design: a left side lever that is pulled down to release the cylinder. Henry just uses the same S&W push-forward button, that is also used by Taurus/Rossi, Charter Arms, and Sarsilmaz :)
That's a nice looking revolver and I can understand why you like shooting it.
Beautiful revolver.
awsome video love it
Honestly, I kinda like that it's sort of a mish mash of various Colt and S&W designs. Not big on the bird's head grip.
I like the finish, style and brass on this revolver but not particularly the wood used in the grips. I bought my first Henry rifle this year. It's a nice rifle but would've preferred a Marlin or Winchester as my other lever action rifles are but after searching for about 15 years for a .41 Magnum I finally gave up and bought the Henry to complete the collection.
Hey Hickok45, I now exactly what a "6 o'clock hold" is! Former military, former gun owner and current watch collector! BTW, 6 o'clock is my favorite location for a date window on my watches.
I like that gun. And interchangeable sights? Nice.
Nice looking wheelgun.
I wanted a Henry revolver for a while. A gun that looks as good at it performs.
My dreams revolver. I like the look of these revolvers...from Fort Worth, Texas
Looks to me like a good kit gun for campers. Reasonably priced. Reliable.
$1000 isn't reasonably priced. You can find similar revolvers for half the price.
beauty of Revolvers
Come on Hickok, you will grow to love it ! Judge it against itself, as though Colt or S&W does not exist ! I am older than you, so figure I can rip softly into you, however when it comes to shooting, if against you, I am dead every time 😁…I handled both models of that beautiful Henry a couple months ago, I found nothing I could find fault with, yet to shoot one….may need to add it to my ever growing collection…..very nice da revolver . Thanks Hickok !
I would agreem it's not a clone lke Uberti does, and I have one love it. But, it's just different like S&W is to Colt or Rugers to Colt. I think they did a great job, and the ejection method is supperior to the Colt rod and tube single ejection. And double actions proved superior to Colts single action design and became instantly popular back in the day.
Oh, and extra front sights that come with it so you can adjust for different ammo. Colt never did that! Hickok is great, Really, but could be a little more open minded toward Henry. Look at them as individual firearms because they aren't even trying to be clone manufacturers. They are unique with old west styling but improved design, like tye Big Boys, their bolts are similisr to the Markin style but ALLOT stronger than the Real Henry/Winchester 1873 (1860 & 66) design.
I like that' Henry hummp' in distance and drop ratios the .44 mag acculy equal to 357 , but has more kenidic energy in the .44 velosity usely' same depending on ammo.
it looks very 😎 cool hickok
They are proud of them.
