Definitely, or a remake of those games. I'd welcome it either way though. They'd need to put Suikoden Tactics on as well since that one is directly connected to and is both a prequel and a sequel to IV, which is understandably the black sheep of the series.
Now that would be absolutely fire!!
Even in my patient youth, I remember getting a little annoyed about the repetitive travel in suikoden 3. Still was my favorite PS2 RPG, but could benefit a lot from a remaster.
I would love replaying a remastered Suikoden V. Maybe even IV. Never liked Suikoden 3 though. Not a fan of the tri-protags. Didn’t like it in eiyuden chronicles either.
Just pre order the game. Please do it too. Who knows, Konami might consider continuing the series if they see a big market for this. It's all about profit for Konami but I wont complain just to know more about the other true runes and the suikoden lore.
The biggest reason I'm excited for this to come out is that I'll be able to own Suikoden II physically without having to spend over 200 dollars on the Playstation version.
I didn’t have any emotions because I never played Suikoden series before.
I''m definitely with you on having new people get to play this collection. These are great games that I would love more people to experience. Honestly, Square-Enix kind of dominated the scene in those days (for good reason), and so this series may have been ignored by some in favor of Final Fantasy and others. It was hard for people to play every single game back then, due to cost or time. And it also didn't help that Suikoden II eventually became so rare, the price became extremely inflated, making it harder for people to even try it (outside of emulators). Time to get the word out for that March release!
We are going to be going so hard and tough for that March release fam! But you're right, I hated that these games were so hard to for folks to get there hands on it! So now im glad they have an accessible way to grab them now! Im going to stream it up! And do some giveaways to do my part :]

Suikoden series is my all time favorite games and wish to see Suikoden VI or a remake of any game of the series
I always play Suikoden 2 at least once a year.
Last Sunday, I finished my most recent playthrough in my PS3, and it was also very special, because it was the goodbye playthrough before moving to the remasters.
I felt nostalgic, because it was goodbye to the original version that accompanied me since I was a little kid. But happy at the same time because an upgrade of my favorite childhood game is coming. The remaster is coming very close to my birthday as well, so it's even better.
I am ready to embark into a remaster adventure with Riou, Jowy, Nanami and Nina (she is my favorite character in Suikoden 2 😂), and also with Tir and his team, because I haven't forgotten the first game is remastered too, and that one needed it so much.
Win win.
Now the real comment, this will be fire 100%, no 1000%. Loving the new update to the art style. The characters still look old school, but more defined. I can't wait to re-experience everything again, for the first time like the last time in the modern time. I can't wait to see the boss fights again.. The feels I will get taking on certain bosses, seeing tragedies, and getting emotional again. Lets bring it on. Also I really hope this does so well, Konami lights a fire under their butt and makes Suikoden 6 in 2.5d style. I'm so gonna feel like young me again :)

Suikoden 3&4 could get a trails in the sky remake treatment, 5 could get a xenoblade 1 remaster treatment.
My only critique of 3 was the army battle system, which was fully functional but could've been even better if it was more akin to Suikoden II's.
Suikoden 2 is my favorite jrpg and 3rd favorite game... when Lunar Silver Star Story/Eternal Blue aren't tied as my favorite JRPG/tied for third favorite game... they change sometimes.
Planescape Torment and Deus Ex are 1 and 2 for anyone who needs to know, lol.

I'll hold you to all of this Kali. I've known about the Suikoden series for years and only ever heard of I & II's greatness. These remasters look exceptional, as they should be for how long Konami kept us in the dark. With Eiyuden Chronicle HH scratching the itch this year, it's time for these remasters to finally have their time next year!

Eyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes is a great game, but it's not Suikoden 1 & 2.
I also think people need to realize that Suikoden came long before Eyuden Chronicles, and that Eyuden Chronicles is made by THE DEVS who made and started Suikoden back in 90's.
I'm looking forward to this because it has two of my three favorite games in one of my favorite game franchises. (My three favorite Suikoden games are II, V, and I In that order).
Also I'm hoping it does well enough for either a III, IV, and V collection or a III and V collection then a IV and Tactics collection. (That might sound very odd but IV and Tactics are linked closely and take place around the same time while V, I, II, and III take place in my listed order within a roughly thirty year span starting around a century and a half later)
Right, you are correct on all fronts. Suikoden IV takes place in 302 through 307 I.S. and Tactics takes place partially before in 299 I.S. and immediately after the events of IV in 309 I.S.
Suikoden V takes place just 6 years before I, meaning it takes place in 449 I.S.
Which means Suikoden I takes place beginning in 454 I.S. and ending in 457 I.S.
Suikoden II begins two years later in 459 I.S. to start before continuing on to 460 I.S.
Suikoden III is the latest one chronologically, taking place in 475 I.S. meaning you are right, it all falls under a 26 year span of time. The time line established before goes way deeper to boot. It's fascinating.

The trailer looks very promising. I'm most interested to see how they deal with the translation. There were many, many errors in the original English translations, it is by far the weakest aspect of the games imo. I hope they were able to correct them while remaining faithful to the original meanings.
I'm also interested to see what they do, if anything, to lessen the need for using a guide to recruit all of the characters. The in-game hint features were quite lacking at least in the first two games.
It'd be great if we had some kind of way to "divine" hints about where to find the Stars.
Reminds a bit of star ocean 2r. Backgrounds, environments, portraits high quality and characters pixeled. When actually playing it, looks really nice and clear
Right? Star Ocean 2nd Story R nailed how a modern remake (that was no mere remaster, it qualifies as a remake) should be done. Keep the original sprite work, overhaul the environments (they're breathtakingly beautiful now) and the soundtrack while giving tons of QoL improvements and bonus features to make the game an absolute joy to play through.
I really hope for a convoy feature like eiyuden where you can put story forced characters into so you can keep the party you want during battle. A difficulty option and new game plus would be great too but I doubt any of these are happening

Enjoy. Suikoden II is my favourite RPG of all time. I wish I could go back and experience it again for the first time like my 9 year old self did. It is so good.

I mean suikoden 2 was already beautiful graphically. If they added more arcs and content, I would buy it. THE GAME WAS toooo shoorttt. Looks like a mobile game now
I've played suikoden 4 and loved it so much. I wonder how I'll feel about this one. Definitely looks interesting.
It's considered the black sheep.
But honestly it's my 3rd favourite after the PS1 originals.

@@dan_kotsu 100% I've a massive bone to pick with 5. It got rid of the controllable camera and first person mode ( exploring the world through our heroes eyes the only time in the franchise that was possible, and it was super immersive). Honestly 5 is let down by trying to emulate the 2d style by nurfing what the 3d could've brought to the table.

As much as I enjoyed Eiyuden, it was such a let down as they obviously rushed the game. It was not worth talking after finishing though I can a lot of potential.. The remasters are what I'm truly looking forward
Suikoden I was fine; Suikoden II bloated, with a terrible translation (not alone there: hello FFVII), and a one-note villain in Blight who comes and goes too quickly. Both are OK games but neither made our 'Top 10 RPGs' watchalong, all of which surpass Suikodens I and II.
PLAY THESE GAMES. They represent incredible storytelling, character, music, style, everything you could want in a JRPG and a gaming experience in general.
And don't fall for the Eiyuden Chronicle scam. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
My biggest wish for these BEAUTIFUL remasters, is the long awaited suikoden 6..plz God, grant us that wish, Amen 🙏...I need the story of the 27 true runes to be continued, i need to know the rest of the true runes plz
I'll buy it, as long there is no activists/DEI localization attached to the games. Still can't believe they messed up Eiyuden Chronicle english localization! I was looking forward to that game.
Awaiting the re-masters with baited breath! =) I have many fond memories of the originals back in the day, and the first one was heavily played while I - like many others - awaited Final Fantasy 7 back in the day. I truly enjoyed subsequent replays during that time, getting into the lore, the combat mechanics and so on. And the second is a classic that surpassed the first splendidly!
It looked good already, but now they have added shadows and stuff to the portraits. I'd say the delay was warranted and worth it. While I paid like 2 bucks each for PSP, I didn't end up playing them.
The only games I've ever wanted. This may actually bring me some joy.
I am definitely Most certainly excited for Suikoden 1&2 hd remaster It's finally finally coming out. I have been waiting for this for a long time And I can't wait to play it and the bonus items are a nice touch. And when it comes out, I'm not buying one version but two because I love it so much I must get it twice.

Not played a suikoden since the one with a big ship for a base (4?) - wonder why they never continued with the franchise.
I just hope with all my heart that the bugs in the original games finally disappear...especially suiko 1 earth rune bug

I bought two copies one for the PS5 and the other on the Switch, I have not been this hyped for a game in a long time. Only time will tell if they will release the rest of the Suikoden series.
I REALLY hope they iron the combat out. The series has a 10/10 story but 2/10 gameplay.
I'm not sure about the Luca vs Sephiroth comparison but I never enjoyed killing a bad guy more than when I put down Luca

Honestly I got disappointed by eiyuden, didn't get into it, and the combat was weird and clunky regarding the order in which turns appeared on top but command giving didn't match, and reviving and healing order giving was unpractical, especially nowadays

It's because the developers needed more time to perfect things like backgrounds, battles, graphics, etc. I doubt it's versed.

I'm thoroughly excited. I was concerned about the fate of these remasters but something told me they were not canceled. When Nintendo showed off the remasters at their direct and a release date was announced? I was like, "Finally! Yes!"
I expected LRG to be handling the physical release but I was stoked to find out that I could reserve it for all the consoles without the need of LRG. So here I am with a pre-order set for all the consoles and I'm ready for it.
Also, I fully agree about Luca Blight. He is hands down one of the best written villains ever. He actually terrifies me, I have zero doubt they'll keep that aspect in tact and not tone him down in the slightest.
Either way, I'm with you all the way. Suikoden I & II are two of the best RPGs from the PSOne era and I can't wait to play them again! Murayama-san would be proud to see that his legacy lives on. I wish he was still with us.

Overrated series. Suikoden 1 really doesn’t hold up and to 100% Suikoden 2 u need to play Suikoden 1 soo
