  • Post tension slab is a combination of conventional slab reinforcement and additional protruding high-strength steel tendons, which are consequently subjected to tension after the concrete has set. This hybridization helps achieve the formation of a much thinner slab with a longer span devoid of any column-free spaces.

    Dont we need drop down beams in post tension slabs?is that an advantage?
    Also the actual concrting slump value is too high (😅after slump test,we all additional water during casting)this is not recommended or is it in post tension?

    While stressing the strands is there any possibility of breaking any strand? If yes can we replace it with new one?

    • @StoryBites
      @StoryBites  3 года назад

      yes, over stressing of strand or load on the structure exceed the design load will break the strands. even use of damaged strands while installing also may cause the breakage of strands.

    • @StoryBites
      @StoryBites  3 года назад

      The replacing of strand is practically difficult. normally if strands are broken automatically the load will be transferred to the adjacent strands. To avoid further deflection of slab the stressing force is increased as recommended by the designer.
