One of the better videos regarding oil leaks for these N52's, you cover all the common areas,
Thanks 👍
Love the work, hope it brings you future riches. On a side note, hit a piece of debris on the freeway tonight and slit one of my sidewalls on my winters. On the hunt for a tire tomorrow 😭
Ohhhhh bugger!!! Good luck getting it sorted
Nice to see these vids and the comments, lots of people finding your channel helpful. Wish you had A BMW mini, would help guide me with my car. Maybe I should just get a proper BMW 😅
Really enjoy following along with all your vids.
Good luck with the R.W. !!
Thanks man, really appreciate the the support.
Well from my recent experience the work you guys are doing is better than some professionals...
Hmmmmmm shame to hear man.
Great job!
My oil filter gasket looked the same way LOL , good work!
Thanks man. It’s nice knowing it’s fixed
I feel like I’m dealing with all these issues with my e90 328xi. So far I’ve done coolant leaks and oil filter housing gasket and belt. 🤞🏽thank you fid all your help.
You should have been able to do the oil filter housing with out pulling the intake manifolds off.
I also know that for my model witch is an Xdrive model so I have a front diff to deal with. So I’m sure I’ll have a good time doing my oil pan filter if and when it needs to be done.
Most of the bolts are aluminum and aren’t to be reused. 👀
I don’t have a oil cooler on my oil filter housing... 🤔 would it be easy to retro fit one? Or would it just be a matter of just getting the cooler and lines? My gasket in the housing was as hard as a rock.
Nice work Andrew.
Thanks man, she was a testing one. Got covered in so much oil trying to clean it on the hoist lol.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Well worth it mate
@@ZeroTo60Tube Hey mate, is an M54 worth time, love, money. I can get my hands on an E46 330i. Needs some TLC.
Well done Andrew .. :) hope roadworthy goes well :)
Thanks man!!! Appreciate that.
I was praying to the BMW gods when you said you were resuing the bolts 😂. I reused the valve cover ones on my n54 and snapped one off in the head. Although 6 months later and still no leaks -1 bolt 😂 🤞
Yeah, it’s gonna be a luck of the draw thing that’s for sure
Would you be able to do a steering wheel , slip ring remove and install on the parts car , 335i
Thanks Dan
I've got a leak and I'm sure its the sump gasket, already done the oil filter housing and valve cover, getting it done on Wednesday, perfect timing
It’s really not too bad to do at all. Just expect a bit of a battle getting it back on.
Can you fix my e90 I just bought they sold it to like that with all those issues u boutta fix… and my is from auction but the dealer never fixed it so I’m stock with all these leeaks smh looks good though man
How straight forward are the control arms to do? I need to do them on my e92. tried to order superpro adjustable ones from sparesbox but they are out of stock on them. will probably just get M3 arms from FCP.
Control arms are super easy. One thing, it’s recommend to tighten the bushes until the car is on the ground.
Watching this I’m thinking “this creates funds for the N54 builds”.
You are 100% correct.
@@ZeroTo60Tube there is no I in teamN54, we gotchu, making a fine example for anybody wanting to start their own channel
Im about to buy a 330ci e46 so imma be living the oil leak life😂
Why didn’t you do the oil filter housing gasket first, so as all of the old oil etc would’ve drained down by the time you’d have gotten to the oil pan gasket?
purely because it was the first time i had done an oil pan, so i wanted to see if i was going to have any job haulting hiccups.
Have you thought about starting a BMW workshop? 0-60 BMW Repairs.
I'd use you. (Need oil filter housing leak fixed)
I have but I spend way too long doing things. I spent nearly hour just to clean these under trays yesterday. My ocd and need to clean would soon stop it from being profitable.
Absolutely love these videos. I was just wondering 🤔 im now a very proud owner of a very clean E93 325 with N53 engine 3.0 straight six engine. I'm having a stage one tune on the 26/02/2020. The tuners claim these figures from (218bhp to 265bhp) (270Nm to 328Nm.) Are these realistic figures?
I know this engine is shared with the 330 but dialled back. With your vast experience bro is this realistic???? Or do i need the manifold from the 330???
Tbh I can’t comment due to not having any experiences with the n53 (we don’t get them down here in aus. But that does about when they tune the 3.0 n52 fitted to a 325i
That sounds about right. I have a 125 n52 3.0 which made 160kw which tuned up to 210kw. It's sounds too good to be true for a na car but that because bmw detuned from factory. The tune is amazing!
@@patrickosipovich1786 cheers Patrick, Yeah was hard finding a reliable tuner rang all the big ones in the uk but most of them sounded like dodgy salesmen. In the end i went for one that does a custom tune on a rolling rd. That way you know the tune is correct and not Disingenuous. Yeah BMW really dial these cars back it's because they could not be bothered making a 330 so they just detuned the 325 lol 🤣🤣🤣.
I'm also having the limiter taken off will be interesting seeing what Vmax/top speed is.
I saw a youtube video the other day with a setup of the following:
back box delete and secondary decat with a stage one tune and it hit 175mph. Crazy for none turbo!
but then looking at the history of the 3.0 straight six & the generations it was originally a race engine!
I think for the original M1 M88 engine which went into the e24,e28,e34,e36,e46. Even the N54 & N55 owe there heritage to the original 3.0 straight six.
@@alexwalsh31 that's impressive, It's in the history. Best of luck with your project 🙂
@@patrickosipovich1786cheers i might even upload a little video. I'm no tuber though so will be a bit raw
The stock belt does not like degreasers or brake cleaners be sure to replace the belt and tensioner, all of the N series engines like shredding belts and the crank hub likes to play hungry hungry hippos and eats the belt into the engine.
I love that you guys do all your work. I need to replace the oil housing gasket on my N55 335 daily. BMW wants $1200 to do the job 😂
I think it’s a no brainer. Working in cars I find so satisfying and saves so much money.
i know im randomly asking but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account??
I was stupid lost my password. I love any tips you can give me
@Dillon Orlando thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Dillon Orlando It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
@Bryant Dakari no problem =)
Try 0-60 on bmw 325i
Topran is probably no OEM gasket
No harm at all in reusing the sump bolts, they aren't torque to yield bolts. Any bolt that just has a torque setting can be reused safely (the only exceptions being head and rod bolts), as the bolts aren't subject to large enough stretching forces that will weaken the bolt. I dare say the torque setting for those bolts would've been somewhere around 25ft-lb? Maybe 30? Which is nothing for the hardware grade of the bolts from factory. Where do you source your parts from?
Parts come from all over, depends what’s a available locally normally,
@@ZeroTo60Tube try Run Auto Parts, I believe they are in Queensland but could be wrong. Brilliant for basic service stuff like filters. Rock Auto in America is also usually pretty good and cheap. Both stock genuine parts.
We did the same on our E90 330i manual when we changed the oil pan gasket- had to reuse the bolts cause we got the auto bolts by mistake. This is the correct part number for the manual transmission bolts: BMW-11130396707 . The bolts are aluminum, 8nM, then 90 degrees for the short, the longer ones are 8 nM, then 180 degrees from what I found searching online.
Another great video guys!
Looks about half as much trouble as a N54 car with ZF auto.
Subscribed mate If you need a mobile roady who is relaxed message me mate 😅
Thanks man really appreciate that.
@@ZeroTo60Tube anytime mate he’s Brisbane based but will travel , he’s very relaxed 😂
Omg I have to warn you, please be very careful when taking the sump or VC bolts off. Please try to use hand tools and be very careful you don't want to snap one of these bolts in the block, don't use power tools on them and they have to be replaced for the same reason. Ask me how I know :-(
Awwww man, that sucks. Did you get the snapped one out of the block ok?
@@ZeroTo60Tube Nope, it was the one above cylinder no 6 to the left on the valve cover gasket (usually that's one of the ones that snap because of the heat. I had to take it to a shop to drill it out and install a time sert.
Cheap plugs, bad oil filter, and skipped the valve cover all together. You're slipping :)
Spoken like a true bmw owner haha.
@@ZeroTo60Tube He says to the guy who had to reweld his downpipes because the Chinese 'craftsman' put the O2 bung in a completely blocked location. More like your reputation for meticulous care precedes you. All in jest my good man.
Haha I’m just playing. There’s no hiding my love of a cheap part that’s for sure.
