She was my first car, my dad gave her to me when I past my driven test. She was great fun went camping in her, went to lots of places with her. She would over heat on a long run, i would pour water over the engine block and on i would, I was doing this one day and a RAC man said whats your elastit band broken I said !!!!!. The only rust on her was on the running boards. Loved her.
It probably needed a valve grind when they returned' but the main thing is they had a good time. My father had one 'and it was our family car' great memories 'but when he moved on to an AP6 valiant it was like stepping into the modern age.
I still use mine a lot and she's a lot older than yours being a first year pre-war model. They make good everyday cars and are very practical.

Unlike the UK equivalent not a lot of rust! Usual excellent mechanical parts. Thanks
