@@NProvince I agree with Trevor. There are too few trucks reviews (for not saying none) and the ones you make are the best. We appreciate all the care and detail you put in each video. You deserve a ton of subs!
Still here in '23 mate! Love your videos. Thanks for the review. I just unlocked this truck on Don region hard mode. I was shocked at how well it goes through the terrain on Don's maps. Loving both this truck and the Force T815-7. I do understand what you mean - they could benefit from a bit more ground clearance, but I already feel like they're not super stable, I think it'd make them more tippy with the narrow axles. Both trucks have been great to drive so far though. Love the unique fuel tank on this one so it'll become my refueller! (Not sure what the Force will be used for yet).
Thank you! I really try and put detailed information to give viewers more objective things opposed to just throwing in how I feel about it. I’m glad you find them helpful and enjoy them as well! :)
Man I got to get that year two pass. I've just been so busy with work and life lately I haven't had the time. Can't wait to get back into snow runner. Another top tier review as always my man.
Thank you Vincent! Life happens brother, I just got a new job so I’ll be in that boat too. The great thing about SnowRunner is; it’s always gonna be there to catch up on. I think you’ll like phase 5 though. Small but it’s like a puzzle 🧩
Start 2 year pass in hard mode. After some days I went to get The 2 Taygas and two Tatra. after upgrade my Phoenix, fit with crane and sideboard bed I'm eating Alaska with This beast. What a Machine!!! My new favorite truck in The game!!!!
I see you mentioned the one thing I noticed, the slow steering impacting the high range driving. When you start to steer it then goes all in which forces you to slow down to control the turn. But about the stability, try that test again with the fuel carrier. All that extra weight in the back will cause it to push the truck forward when on downhill slopes. Any abrupt change in elevation will cause that back end to push the truck into a roll, or at least it did for me.
Once again another great video 👏 I love this new truck, but I just don’t understand why it’s so limited on add on’s ??? At least give it a saddle low b/c with its small tires and low frame the saddle high semi trailers get caught on everything 🤦♂️ Otherwise it’s an absolute dream to drive. Also, I feel like phase 5 is a bit bare bones compared to previous releases.
Hey thank you ! I would love for all the Tatras to swap the high saddle for the low. I think I would almost exclusively use Tatras with a low saddle. You’re right that low frame isnt good for those special outsized cargo trailers.
I only came to Don to unlock the 815 and didn't bother with the Phoenix but just 100%'d Don and got the Phoenix on the way. Incredible truck! The highrange is unstoppable. Such a shame it doesn't have at least Saddle Low. If they're going to restrict the best trucks to having only Saddle High options, at least give us some good Saddle High trailers that don't feel twice as burdensome as the cargo they're carrying and negating any reason of using a more powerful truck, or get stuck on the simplest of inclines/declines/boulders
The 815 and the Phoenix are very different. Im glad you went back and 100%'d the Don. It really is a wild truck to drive and the lack of low saddle is really sad. I exclusively use crane & low saddle over crane & sideboard bed due to a few good reasons. In short this one was a little bit of a let down. You hit the nail on the head when explaining the high saddle trailers. I wish this would change especially due to it being a Offroad truck and not a heavy.
@@NProvince hopefully someone adds a mod to add low saddle to the high saddle only trucks. I've done 6 regions to 100% on vanilla now but it's one mod I would consider. Especially as one of those regions I haven't done to 100% is Amur 😅 The upside is at least the Voron Grad also gets the new engine. I hadn't collected it yet prior to unlocking the Phoenix so didn't know how nuts it was. S+ doesn't cover it, it needs an S+++ rating lol
I've just started a hard mode with my pal used his truck to get the tatra then using olsoms trailer mod allows it to have the attachments it should.. Logging frame ect only thing missing is low saddle. Can't wait to put it to work its by far my favourite truck in the game
@@oakesiii3412 So in some videos I’ve talked about this issue. On paper it says the highway gearbox is more efficient, but due to the increased RPM cap it will allow the engine to rev higher which increases consumption. The culprit is indeed the gearbox. The Azov engine shared with the 5319 and the 64132 have 1 difference they have different gearboxes. The 64131’s advanced special is the reason it’s so good on gas. The 5319 has either the off-road, fine-tuned, or the highway and because of this you can see a big difference in consumption values.
@@NProvince this is when it's under load though not revving? High range in rwd on tarmac it will do as little as 3lpm when flat out and top revs but when it's under load its shooting between 15-22 I re watched your review an yours is doing 19lpm on the flat.. I may stick with the balanced just for that reason
@@oakesiii3412 So consumption really is dependent on how hard the vehicle needs to work. On flat surfaces sure its going to be less, Under load or blazing down moderate trails, the harder the engine has to work to achieve max speed in High Gear; the greater the consumption. Honestly I've found that the Offroad Gearbox is the best pick because it reduces this. You might be going a lil slower, but its going to help for sure. For the video, I used the high range alot just to showcase its ability, but I really only use the Offroad Gearbox. Lemme know how it goes.
Nathan thank you for your reviews, I like them very much. As I am a Tatra lover, I prefer to use Tatra trucks in the game if I can :-). I discovered the Barek Tatra pack mod, it adds more addons to the Tatra 813, 815-7 and Phoenix and makes them much more versatile. Other truck´s characteristics remain same as for vanilla truck. Try to take a look Thanks again Nathan
Thank you! Im glad you enjoy them. :) I'll take a look at those mods for sure. When I do a modded playthrough, those will probably get the nod for sure. :)
You can get this truck even before completing Don's right hand contract since we have to go to natural reserve for cement so when you are Going to the cement spawn go through the map activate the task for truck get that radioactive cargo from beach tow the scout fuel trailer from beach pull out the tool trailer that's is in the swamp on the return to cement spawn collect the cement deliver the radio active cargo get back to the phenix truck with the tool trailer and scout fuel carrier boom there you have it.
You're right. This is actually how I got it before the FORCE. Which is also why this review was before the Forces review as well. In theory yes you can jump over and get the truck right away, but for people that play map to map, it might take some time. Great point!
These trucks have the best independent suspension in the game. If you're on PC these said limitations can be mitigated by mods or by tweaking them yourself. Bigger wheels more tire options, more frame addons,RoofRacks. If only they came with stock alwaysOn diff then these tatras will be on par with the other heavy russians like the azovs. But to each their own, that can be OP/game breaking to some.
The do have amazing suspensions. I actually play on PC and have looked into the file quite heavily, but I guess I'm a person who just accepts them for how they are. Very true, if they did have always on Diff Lock; they would outperform allot of really good vehicles.
I'd argue that even with it's downsides it still borders on overpowered. My friends are big 605R fans, until you get to the point where chains are no longer optional. The fact that the Phoenix is an utter brute of an 8x8x8 and it can equip chains makes it an incredibly powerful truck. I don't mind it being slightly less versatile when it comes to addons and options. I like the fact that the game kind of forces you to have specialised trucks for things. I also find that when trucks try and do too much they tend to be average at all the things they do and not excel at anything in particular. I'd rather have a fleet of different trucks that each excel at a different task, than just the one truck that can do anything.
Very going points. Indeed if a truck could do everything then why use anything else? I think it still is a very strong truck, I believe i ranked it really high despite its downsides. I agree that every truck has its place in the game for certain things and I think that was part of the development to get people to play different trucks.
Indeed the best Tatra in Snowrunner. I'm suprised but it's really the case. I wanted the Force so bad but this one is my fav, despite the little wheels. My best hauler with a high saddle trailer, it's insane how it can pull big things. And very agile, even when fully loaded. I keep it for sure.

Don is full of surprise pitfalls where the dirt is suddenly 3 feet of mud on one side of the road, or water that is much deeper than it looks. It feels like it really is designed for stable trucks like the tatra line that dont suddenly tip before you know whats even happening. Most of the DLC seem like the trucks are just added to the map randomly, but Don really feels to me like they were designed to complement the map. Not to mention fact the fact you are rebuilding the tatra factory lol

Great point, Oh there are absolutely ways to get trucks earless you said. That awesome that you got that truck so early! In general, I’m referring to a chronological play through. Thank you for the comment and I’ll do my best :)
In my very limited experience I'd say it's an amazing offroader that can't really do much. No crane+bed combo makes it less useful in hard mode and Its frame is too low for High-Saddle trailers as the legs are like half a tire above ground which isn't a lot when going off road. And the back folded support-struts of the crane hinder trailer movement which greatly reduces its turn radius, so that negates one of its big advantages of having that great all wheel steering system. The truck itself is really great, but tools given to it are not.
I give this review a 5! I think the add on limitation has something to do with the fact that this is a licensed truck. So the Tatra people had to approve it before it showed up in the game. 🤘😬🤘
