Beautiful old furniture! If they could only talk. The stories they could tell! 😂
I bet that old high chair had been very expensive in its day! What a great find!
You spotted some nice.old wood furniture. Sad that it is not appreciated more. I still use my family’s hand me downs in my home and I love the look.
Right on!
if you are buying it for yourself, you have to think...will it make you smile? damaged or not. my daughter sometimes yells at me for buying damaged goods. i say, i like it, it makes me laugh or smile.
Yes. Buying for one's own collection is totally different from buying to sell in an antique store or buying to sell to the general public.
Great shopping and as always I saw some beautiful dark wood furniture I love!! My style!! That $500 bedroom set!!! 😩. I'd buy that in a heart beat before these people buy it and ruin it by painting it White or black!! Geez I hate that!!!! With a passion!! Love your finds!! I navigate to the cut glass!! So pretty!! I hope you show up the show off neighbor!!! Her name is probably "Irene"! 😂. Always one in every neighborhood!! Put fast big twinkling lights on it too!! 😂. Happy decorating!! Love it when you go thrifting!! Always fun! 🎄🦌🎄⛄
Oh no, a new nemesis right across the street!?!? I bet she doesn't have a big Santa blow mold!
I used to have a pair of those Holland Mold cats...wish I still had them. Those things can bring good money now-a-days. Mine were gold, with black noses and mouths, and their eyes were outlined in black, with yellow eyes and black pupils. I've always liked the _Paneled Thistle_, by Higbee. L. E. Smith reproduced it, though, but their pieces are still early repros. I have a water set in the pattern. The tumblers are about as clear as Heisey...probably Higbee...but the pitcher isn't that clear...likely made by Smith.
The Imperial marigold Carnival glass was a nice deal......
Love shopping with you, Scott! Some great old furniture.
Thank you for taking us along shopping with you. I save so much money shopping with you instead of doing it on my own! 😅
Wishing the happiest of Holidays to you and yours.
Your shirt was very festive.
Good evening Scott 😊
Most of my furniture is old from my family or thrift stores. I rarely go into furniture stores, but when I do, I am disappointed with the quality of the new stuff. It won’t be around 20 years from now while some of mine are more than 100 years old. And my 30ish grandson would love to inherit the oak dining room table with the claw feet and it’s matching sideboard. Hope he does.
Nice shopping trip always learning new things.
Scott, The funniest part of this video is the white fruit of the loom underwear on a hanger ! 🤣
Eddie Murphy..."my girl wants to party all the time!" Thrifting in GB MD. Maryland....my old stomping grounds. You are killing me. Love you hon
I appreciate the wood furniture lessons. I need to pay tuition. I have the Royal Copley Ivy pieces but I have not seen the black rimmed one you found!
When does a utilitarian pair of men’s underwear deserve its own spot on the end aisle with its own hanger? 😁❤️🐩🎄
You could have bought the dresser, taken off the knobs and redonated it.
Fantastic finds, Scott. Singing Eddie Murphy? 😅
You got it!
Seems you are adding to your list of nemesis’s. Perhaps the lady across the street is a subscriber! Better Watch out better not pout …… 🎅🏻
Subscriber or not.....she shall not out shine me......and I know how to make figgy pudding!!!!!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 I also know how to make figgy pudding.... but do you know how to make mince meat tarts?
I love the bedroom set.
Hi never saw the radio table love the 1900 s baby chair merry Christmas love Patricia curry Danville VA ❤
You make virtual thrifting a party 🥳 🎉😊
I’ll take that Viking thing off your hands. 😂😁 I love virtual shopping with you, Scott. A lot of the times you have things on the east coast that we don’t see much of on the west coast. Thanks for another great video!
Awesome ...... cant wait till Thursday to see you all !!!! 🎉❤
I love shopping virtually with you. You hey me soooo excited because my husband and I are looking for an older home maybe around Vineland, Bridgeton area and I plan on little by little replacing all of our furniture by thrifting once we move in. I can't WAIT!
Always a pleasure my friend ☺️🕊️.
It’s a shame you don’t have an antique furniture store. You could restore and flip all these beauties.
My late father and I restored and sold antique furniture for several years. I love to do it again.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 Yes, perhaps one day you will, when the time is right...
"Oooh that woman across the street, I'll fix her". Lmao. Merry Christmas to you too Scott
Luckily we all know when youre just being silly.
So fun!
Scott, I am trying to find your video with the puppet screaming," Bring me some figgy pudding,..NOW!"
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT VIDEO😂 Bring me that video.. NOW!😂
Oh heck.....I forgot about that!!!!!
Loved that radio table and all the old furniture. 😢
Love those pink and gold plates!
No those marigold bowls are everywhere in Michigan
Love to see the furniture you show us ,really interesting radio and of course beautiful glass .😀👍
That restore in Glen Burnie is well organized! I’ll have to make it there one day!
Had to just giggle when you chanted just walk-on-by! That old 60's song popped into my head and kept playing on! Lol!
I really enjoy your videos. You're very knowledgeable and I've learned a lot. That bedroom set was stunning. My favorite was that 1800's dresser, so beautiful.
Scott, as often as 'we' keep following you and showing up in your life, I hope 'we' never provoke you as much as that omnipresent "Jeannette Floragold" bowl... lol!... As you know, I am a huge 'brown wood/mahogany' loving person and that Benson bedroom set along with the single Empire dresser would definitely be coming home with me if I had been there! The price was obscenely affordable and, honestly, how often does one come across a complete set... Absolutely stunning! Thank you for taking us along!
The neighbour war is on with the Christmas decorations. Lol. I’m sure yours will be nicer. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2024! ❤from Saskatchewan,Canada.
Competition is on!!! The great thing about thrifted and recycled outdoor Christmas decor is if it blows away or gets trashed in a blizzard ( like here in Minnesota) your not out much in investment😂
I can't wait to see what you new Christmas decor you put up!! Scott showing out!!😄❤
I need that high chair for my grandson. So much better than the plastic contraption he has. It can roll just fine on my tile floor. Oh, and that bedroom suite, so elegant. I need a new narrow display case, thanks to you and my growing collection. We need to rent a truck and come see you to load up on gorgeous furniture and glass goodies! Okie migration in the wrong direction LOL. I have a Fostoria American punch bowl and cups. I just might have to have that large American vase and that amethyst one, too. I’m drooling in anticipation of the snow and ice sale for the blue glass. Lord knows I can find enough milk glass to drown in here on the plains!
My parents were married in the late 40s and we had so many aluminum serving pieces. I still have their set of aluminum coasters. I bought a green Jeanette swan powder dish. It is one of my favorite finds. Love the tea pots. I have a small collection.
You were such a hoot today. So fun & funny. Liked the blue frosted dish with grapes at the end; pretty.
I'm glad they're keeping that bedroom set together. You can tell it was loved💖. It might take awhile to find the right person to buy it. Your enclosed front porch could be turned into a third bedroom😊.
Loved the baby high chair and the teapots.
Can't wait to see your outdoor decorations!
You were in Glen Burnie, tickled me to see you there. I worked 40 years in that area and grew up now far from where you were. I think I’ll have to make my way back to restore and check it out. I go to the one in Timonium MD now.
The Blue Handkerchief Vase and the blue satin glass with grape design are very beautiful....:) Did you put the Amythyst 1930's vase in the cart? Thank you Scott.....
I did. 🙂
Mahogany set a beauty...fruit of the looms camp made my day...what has been the weirdest thing you've come across at a thrift store?
Hum....last week I found one single false "boob" thing that goes in a bra. No lie.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 What???!!! OMG! You actually found a single 'false boob thing that goes in a bra' in the wild?! Man, you're on fire! Extraordinary! I believe you, those things are rare... I don't think I've ever seen one of those before, lucky you!!! 😍 xoxo
I liked and shared this video 📹 out your welcome Scott I sure love vintage.
"I'm gonna go home and party with my blue willow teapot" - oh, Scott - you crack me up...
Warmest greetings of the season to you, from me here in the UK 😊🎄
I can't believe the things you find! Awesome!
My grandmother had a 2-level coffee pot very similar the one you looked at - she called it a “dripolator” (I had thought she might have made the word up, but apparently not). If you had picked it up, I’d definitely have bought it from you. All wrapped up in the Christmas greenery you looked like the Holly Man from Yule legend and lore.
Dripolator is a real thing, very popular in the 30's/40's. I love the china ones.
Scott Granny Pat might the Fostoria.
vase. From Chit Cat Granny Pat
Love the Amathys and blue. Great shopping. 😊
Love your thrifting videos!
I love traveling with you to the thrift stores. My goodwill would have priced those dishes separately.🎉 I think you are so knowledgeable. You also crack me up. Merry Christmas 🎄🙏🏻to you and yours
Love the bedroom set !
Nice video as always !
😊
I wondered if that radio table with the top that wouldn't lift might not have had some kind of thumb release hidden in the front opening panel somewhere. Many pieces of that age had those.
None of the ones I have had in the past had a thumb release on the top. Sadly, it was glued or nailed down. Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Scott. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge about glass. Merry Christmas and Happy Hunting!
Several months ago you kept a doll. You said you would put it under your Christmas tree 🎄. Did you, or did you misplace it🤔?
I can’t remember exactly which doll you’re talking about but I did sell several dolls at my last live sale and that might’ve been one of them. I do have a couple of 1930s dolls. I will place under my tree but haven’t done so yet.
An endless supply of goodies. Did you purchase the radio?
No. Left the radio at the store.
👋🙌👍
I'm 53 and I see more and more antique glass in thrift stores. I'm assuming it's because that generation is dying off and no one wants it anymore except a certain few. I know I have boxes and boxes of my grandmother's and mothers China and glass that I will never use but do hate to just dump it off at Goodwill. It's sad it's not worth more.
I keep having to renew my subscription to you. What is RUclips doing?? 🤔
Very strange....I have no clue.
