I dont think it was a tactical move at all. Thesis was simply out of breath too - at 3.05 you can see him make a sign to his friends on the left side that he's out of breath. And when you think about it, why would Thesis sabotage his own rounds by making them shorter just based on the possibility that issei MIGHT crash in his set due to his tiredness...

Well, shorter rounds do seem to affect the judges opinion in a negative way, so one could say that he's sabotaging or damaging his own rounds by keeping it short. Thesis is "expressing" or battling to win, so it seems like an ineffective tactic to shorten his rounds, dont you think?

i know thesis appeared to be a jerk in this but he played this super smart. He saw how much energy issei put in the first round and kept his rounds short so issei would tire out (since issei is younger, he has better stamina). smart stuff and it got him the win

Never seen Issei so tired. But i honestly wouldn't have given it to Thesis. I actually like thesis's style better than Issei's, but his sets were very short compared to what he usually can do and does during battles. I can only see issei for losing is because of his repeats and he did lack the energy. Thesis had energy and control, but that's only because he didn't do much when it was his turn to respond to Issei on his last 2 sets. His moves were just like little teasers of what he can do and that was it. He got one burn, but i honestly think that he shouldn't have won since he didn't out dance Issei. Issei did his thing and executed his moves till the end. Thesis looked like he was stopping midway so he wouldn't get called out on repeats...but props to both bboys. Props to Thesis for winning.
