- Welcome new and experienced wizards! With the new wipe and the Steam and Epic releases, we have tens of thousands of new players in the dungeons, and among those are fresh wizards!
This guide will walk you through creating and setting up your first wizard character, and then showcase how to fully clear every module of the Goblin Caves map using only the wizard's base kit and a single perk!
I wanted to have this video out to you guys before the wipe so you were ready out the gate, but I got quite sick a few days before :( After a few days of rest I was able to record the last bits that I needed (sorry for the inconsistent vocal quality) and now it's here to help you on your way!

dude, you are an absolute champion for putting this together. i dont even play wizard but alot of these tips are helpful for other classes too!
Much appreciated!
I think a player who's as experienced as you can play this map with any charakter class, even if lame and half-blind 😄
Anyway, excellent video, thank you!
Once you get it down, dealing with PvE becomes just an obstacle instead of the main challenge!
Yall remember when one longbow or crossbow shot would one shot you as a wizard ?
so many painful runs on Ruins against rangers
This is an amazing guide. Thank you so much, crazy the amount of detail and work you put into this!
Thank you!
I rarely comment but this video is insane for how many subs you have, definitely trying it out after this video. keep it up brother
Thank you Mr. Cheese!
this is amazing have not seen a guide like this for any game in years 100/10
This is just the first step! Kit building guide, and eventually beginner PvP guides are in the future!
Squeaky Frank releases a banger once again
Just doing my part for the baby wizards!
This is amazing work! Thank you!!
Your welcome! It’s something I sure wish I had when I started!
the effort you put into this is mind blowing
thank you Mr. Squeaky Frank
i play barbarian but i still learned a lot
you deserve every like in the world
thank you brother!
Great info thanks for uploading, def subbed.
Welcome!
I have about the same time ingame as a wiz as you and this video is amazing for the new people
Thank you!
High quality guide with great explanations. Just wondering if spell overload is better than 10 spells? I’ve only recently started and I’ve found spell overload easier to manage and allows me to spam more often in pvp. Looking forward to more wizard vids!
Both are technically viable. For beginners, spell overload probably would be best because you only have to juggle half as many different spells, and you will be fine in most situations with Fireball, Zap, Invisibility, Magic Missile, and Haste or Slow. I’ve been liking 10-spell for PvP the most lately because it gives you the opportunity to deal with nearly every situation. Landmine Rogue? Light orb in suspicious areas. Sprinting Fighters and Rage Barbarians? Slow stops them in their tracks. Survival Bow Ranger? Haste allows you to keep up with them in jiggle peek battles. A player is really skilled with their shield? Lightning Strike. A player is running away from you through some mobs? Chain Lightning the mob.
If you die with 10-spell, there is almost ALWAYS a way you could have played it that resulted in you not dying. With 5-spell, you might not have a necessary spell for every situation and more deaths will be unavoidable, and more enemies will escape you.
To put it simply, 10-spell has a higher skill ceiling potential, and I play Wizard for the high skill ceiling to start with, so it makes the most sense to go all in. If you watch my other videos you’ll notice that I run Spell Overload sometimes, but that is only when I am grinding mob-kill AP or there was a gearscore limit and I needed to repeatedly use Magic Missile to clear mobs. For just PvP, 10-spell is ultimately the best.
YO SQUEAKY DROPPED and I gotta try these binds
Lmao I don’t recommend my skill binds (mouse side buttons). It’s just what I got used to from the start but makes it a bit janky to select spells and aim quickly sometimes.
hopefully you have a kit guide f2p for lv 15 above when you have more passives to work on, hoping they add more spells and options in the future doe
A kit guide is up next!
We all end up solo wizards in the end, when you fireball your teammates one too many times.
I thought it was blooprint for a second lol.
that rust accent I guess!
Is the skeleton Spearman in module 10 guarding a royal coffin? I must have forgotten about that one and need to hit that up more often!
Yes it is! The royal coffin doesn’t always spawn there though. It has a chance to spawn in a few different corners of that pit, and occasionally it doesn’t spawn at all.
amazing video, I play the wizard class on and off but I find it really hard to effectively land spells. its definitely a skill diff but im just wondering if you have any advice on making it any easier to land the spells
One secret that most wizards don't know is that your spells don't shoot immediately when you release your mouse button. The spell shoots at the end of the hand animation, so you have to aim your cursor up until it actually leaves your hand. Increasing your action speed (usually through dexterity) makes this animation faster, which makes it easier to aim, and significantly increases your odds in a jiggle-peek battle.
How to clear module 2: leave that module immediately
It's definitely a more annoying module to clear, especially the bottom part!
Unironically, step 1 is “get naked.”
The beginning of any great plan
In the meta how good is it to main solo wizard rn? F2P here
Solo wizard is “good” in PvP once you have decent gear, mainly due to slow cast speeds without Knowledge gear. You can somewhat make up for it with the Intense Focus skill, but since it takes several spells to kill a player it only gets you so far.
However, once you do get some decent gear and develop your skills, you unlock the ability to diff just about any player you come across. Solo wizard is definitely a “road less traveled” because of the investment it takes to master it, but once you do, you become an unstoppable force that will cause every player you kill to exclaim “what am I supposed to do???”
@@SqueakyFrank that's awesome and def how it should be as wizard imho. Thanks for the video and tips! Cheers!
I cant figure out why my map ingame never shows the closing circle
The majority of this was filmed last wipe, when the closing circle existed. This wipe the closing circle was removed.
Any tips for a legit brand new f2p player? I’ve got 2 hours in the game and don’t understand what I’m missing as a f2p player and also can’t figure out why all the traders have legit nothing I can use except a shit crystal ball. Lvl 12 here
So as far as the Merchants go, you have to complete their quests to begin to unlock higher rarity gear to purchase from them. Quests come out in batches once a week, to prevent no-lifers from doing them all day 1 and having access to the best gear while players with less time wouldn’t be able to. It also gives us something to look forward to each week.
For the most part, completing 1 full set of quests (usually 3 quests in a set) for a merchant will unlock the next rarity worth of items to buy.
The merchants that you are going to be using the most are Alchemist (spellbook, Magic staff), Tailor (robes, some pants), and Leathersmith (some pants, boots). Prioritize their quests first will give you the best value for your time.
The main things you miss out on as a F2P player is High Roller and the Marketplace. High Roller has consistently better loot than Normals does, and is where the most geared players play, so it has the highest level PvP. High Roller also has the AP system, which functions most similarly to a battlepass, so you have the ability to unlock exclusive cosmetics and get some starter loot (meds and gold and a gold coin bag) to give you a head start in the next wipe.
The other big thing F2P doesn’t have access to is the marketplace. The marketplace allows you to quickly a la carte assemble a kit to your liking, and also allows you to passively earn gold since you can post items on the marketplace and other players can buy them while you’re offline or in a dungeon. The main effect of the marketplace on the game is that is caused most HR players to always have a well-tailored full meta kit on. Once you begin to take PvP in the game seriously, access to the marketplace is critical of your don’t want to be at a disadvantage against others. I personally think the marketplace is unhealthy for the game, but if it’s available to other players, you have to use it to not get constantly meta-slapped.
silly game design when it's better to run around in underwear
Yeah……
