Hi! I’m watching all of your videos because they are so helpful!! Me and my partner are at the very beginning of our adoption journey, we have just handed in our assessment forms, I’m so anxious about it because I’m 21 and only one agency was willing to take us on so I’m praying it all goes smoothly! 🤞🏼 safe to say I’ll be watching your videos on repeat for the next 6 months ahah!! X
Thank you very helpful. I’m a new subscriber to your channel but will definitely keep watching along with others I’m following. We’ve just submitted our ROI paperwork so waiting for a response.
Can you tell me have you had a specific criteria for gender please? We would like a little girl aged between 1 and max 4. Do you think SW can accepts our criteria?
Hi. We didn’t have specific gender, no. Our SW recommended a boy may help the dynamic with our daughter but we opted not to choose. I was told by our agency that having a preference is fine.
Hey! We didn’t do early permanence so can’t help there unfortunately. It sounds like the stage one training may be the standard preparation training that all adopters undertake in the UK (can sometimes be done in stage two!) - if so, it’s intense, emotional but really empowering and necessary. It hit us hard but it helped prepare us as parents to an adopted child x
What about gaining childcare experience with unknown children? We have been sent to a nursery or pre school for this weekly for about 2,3 hours. On the beginning the agency said we will need to go there for 2,3 months. We started in October and now we have been told we have to carry on with this plus going to another voluntary work with children to a different setting. Plus all the deadlines for e-learning course, for learning log, medical, home safety, fire safety, etc. that we have to met in one month of stage one. I find this overwhelming as we’re working full time morning to evening. In regards of references we have been given 2 from family, 2 from friends who we babysit and about 7 from other friends. I honestly find they make this process impossible . They want us to have good income but in the meantime they want us to attend to courses, to volunteer to 2 different settings for childcare experience and many other appointments.
Wow, that’s a lot! I can’t say I ever experienced any of that and for my friends who had to gain childcare experience, it wasn’t a massive commitment for them in comparison to what you’re saying. I’m not sure if your LA/VA has specific rules or guidance as I know everywhere differs. I’m not surprised your overwhelmed. Have you spoken to your social worker?

Hi Molly we’ve been approved to start stage one and invited to do stage one training and EP training. Did you do this and if so what was it like?

@@MollyMamaAdopt thank you
How long was it before you had a response after submitting your stage one workbook?
Hi Katie. Sorry but we didn’t do a stage one workbook so can’t help with that one x
@@MollyMamaAdopt no worries we’ve submitted it now, just waiting on feedback and our stage one and EP training x
Hey how much does it cost to adopt two children from overseas?
Hi! I’m unsure I’m afraid as we didn’t do inter country adoption. It is a different process to the UK adoption process.

Do you need to have specific dates for these life events? I will be lucky to know the dates of birth for my family never mind all this 😂
We did! It took me hours of family phone calls trust me 😂
@@MollyMamaAdopt i had my cats a year older than they are all year, this doesn't bode well 😂
