What did you mean going into a library and "scanning" books? You mean using an actual page scanner to digitize books??

Last week, I went to an ordinary attic-crawl deal. On the way up the stairs, I saw a very rare, clear 19th-century edition of Moby Dick, with a beautiful decorative cloth cover. This book really had no place in this sale, in that it didn't match any of the other items in the home or the attic. It is possible that the book was the only item in the house worth more than 20 dollars on Ebay. The book came in a 40-dollar lot with 8 meh books, two of which I discarded and a bunch of mid-century freemasonry jewelry. I found a similar volume that sold in auction for 700 dollers in 2022. I listed the Moby Dick for $2000, and I sold it a few days later for 1000

I’ve sold books for over 20 years. If I had to start a business today, I would not do books. These days it’s hard to really get profitable books.

I used to pay £1 at a flea market for books like those in the video (early C19 fiction, obscure non-fiction). Now I don't. The money's in other books- e.g "The English Regional Chair" (1999). Going rate in the UK for a framed C19 fashion print is about £2-£3 at a thrift shop.

So glad to see another video from you. I have learned so much watching your content. Even if half the books I buy are worthless, the ones I sell return 10x the total cost outlay. Thanks again, Randy.

I love books, I remember the Ladybird book collection here in the UK, which I had bought for me as I grew up. I had about 30 in total, I know that there were about another 5 or 6 more of them, but I could never find them anywhere. Kids don't read much these days as they only want the play stations etc. Nice to see you are looking well. Thank you, Don. Charles in the UK

Very nice book haul. I've done the same with old encyclopedias (one set 1908) that people were throwing out. Many maps, color plates of plants etc. Also had a Marilyn Monroe coffee table book with about 50 full page photos of her in her famous and other interesting poses. Book was valued at $79. Paid $3. Framed the prints in $1 good will frames and sold them for $15 --$20 each. Guys bought them at the flea market for their home office or man cave.😀 Didn't squabble on the price either. Thanks as always for sharing your great information !

Oh you, you're smart enough to buy some of those early Editions -my civil war books are worth an absolute Fortune... especially some of the military war manuals... all the guns were liquidated... still have some interesting artifacts from both sides... another Niche is all the interesting religious Guru books... sometimes I might have the only copy of something... those can bring an absolute Fortune...Laxvespa--LosAngeles.. sometimes the Engravings in some of the older books are absolutely phenomenal...

My husband passed away recently and he had a lot of old books and magazines he told me I could sell after he passed away. I also have many books and children's books that I want to sell, how do I find the value of some of them, I know some are valuable, I just want to make sure I am making what I should, especially since I need to earn extra money to live on! How can I contact you to ask you a couple of questions? 😊😊❤😊😊
