    In this video Nate practices flipping an RC helicopter and working on some RC heli tricks. This RC heli is the Blade 230 S, and it is looking to be the RC helicopter that Nate has made the most improvement on with his RC helicopter flying skills. Let us know what you think of the RC heli in the comments.

    Hey guys I'm a huge fan of the channel and am really happy you are getting into helli's. Ik you said you don't have time for the sim but it really is the ticket to becoming more comfortable with all aspects of your flying. I like to fly for a few minuets before bed each night and it has made a world of difference, there's usually some servers up and it a lot of fun. plus you could make a video on it so it would be a two in one. (practice and content). Keep doing what you are doing and i look forward to seeing you at Nall

      @@TheRcSaylors My bad, I assumed from the overall Horizon models you presented that you would be interested in Horizon RF 9.5 which is an excellent simulator. You can make content on setting up simulator and training tools in the sim. I agree that sim is not the same as flying real in terms of feel. The sim does teach you eye-hand coordination and how the heli will respond to stick commands without crashing your real model.

      I think we "all" need to crash a few times and lighten our wallets to learn the hard way.
      These cheap RTF's are good and bad. Get out there and fly right away, but it was meant to be a learning device.
      Not something to be full on 3D with an instant escape/panic button to return safely.

    As for your question about what to do next is to just practice your orientations. Hold a hover in each nose-in, side-in left, side-in right, tail-in and then all over inverted. Once you can do that proficiently you should be able to recover from most mistakes. Problem I see is you lack time as this process takes a lot of practice. Which is why most pilots skip over getting proficient on these basics and then they crash a lot getting into unfamiliar orientations or struggle with learning higher difficulty maneuvers. I try to go back to basic maneuver training yes mostly on the sim every so often mostly on winter when I don’t fly outside. Good luck!

  • @Ryan-uu4tw
    @Ryan-uu4tw 4 месяца назад

    Don’t hit throttle hold when landing until you’re on the ground on anything that has a tail motor. That’s a tail belt/ torque tube only technique. With a tail motor you’ll probably spin tip and blade strike.
    If you have your throttle stick set to ratchet, that’s probably why you’re having trouble putting it down gently.
    This and all the smaller Blade helis with the exception of the 180 fusion are great beginner helis.

  • @mikewhitley1183
    @mikewhitley1183 4 месяца назад

    I have three helicopters and I'm still struggling to fly them. It takes a lot of work and a lot of stick time to be able to successfully fly your helicopter and bring it back in one piece. And if I remember from some of your videos that you say crashing is part of flying but it seems like you've taken your crashed jet a little bit hard. GET OVER IT !!!!!!!!! You have more aircraft most people will have in a lifetime. Waiting for a reply

      I actually just ordered one of those. Hoping I’ve got enough stick time soon to jump over. I honestly like the slower pace that this thing moves at. It’s helped me wrap my head around some maneuvers. I’m still very new to grasping helicopter stunts though. 💯⚓️

    • @briancostales6709
      @briancostales6709 4 месяца назад

      Yeah the slower rates on the 230 are good for learning 3D but on the S2 you can also tame it down and tune it for your flying style from mild to hard 3D. Its really easy to tune with the included blue tooth module that works through the goo sky app so you can adjust everything to your liking it also has a built in governor which is cool so it maintains head speed. It’s durable, built well and the parts are cheap and there are no gears to strip, you will like it. It flies bigger then its size

      @@TheRcSaylors before you get to stunts you need to learn the basics of orientation and forward flight.

  • @zmanphx
    @zmanphx 4 месяца назад

    Nate, I get that you don't feel simulators are your thing. But I think you are doing your beginner viewers a dis service by trying to learn "Old-school" with no simulator time to practice. It is better to practice and crash on simulator than to crash real model. There is more to RC helicopter than just doing flips and upside hovering. The basics should be like fixed wing. Orientation training and forward flight in circle and figure 8's with no safe. Bank turns require all 4 controls- Collective-rudder and Elevator - Aileron . The left stick is the Collective control , not throttle for CP helicopters.

      @TheRcSaylors the Goosky S1 is awesome, I've flown at least 12 different micro and mini helis (Blade, XK, Align, Hisky, Walkèra, OMP) and its by far the best, I'm sure the S2 and bigger ones are great too.
      I added a satellite so I can use my spektrum radio.
      The OMP M1 is very good too. Mine never flew right for me but I think it was the cheap XK radio i was using. I sold it before I destroyed it so I'll never know.

    Watching as I comment. I did bite the bullet and get the 330s as I had mentioned before. In the manual when flipping into safe I think it says to go back to 50% throttle. That's the common return speed.
    I have yet to fly mine as I waiting for prime conditions and not this tornado weather here in Mo 🤣

    Don't land in "idle up" or "3D" mode, if your done 3D aerobatics and you don't need the negative pitch anymore for inverted, switch back to Normal mode (usually Mode 1) to land, then throttle stick from center to full down will throttle it down gently.

    Simulators are the best tool for learning. It is better to crash on simulator than real life. You should be doing basic non 3d flights like figure 8s and circles in both directions to get a feel for how the helicopter handle turns with no safe. Safe will not allow you to make proper banked turns. Also you keep referring to the left stick as throttle. For collective pitch helicopter it is the collective stick. You are changing the pitch of the blade , not the rotor speed with the left stick.

  • @randyhavener8368
