IMO I disagree. Black Noir's death made me feel more than Becca's. All of that soldier boy build up, not knowing who he was at all or anything about his character until those seasons. Seeing him act human as he ran away from Vought, showing some character. And all of that just to be killed by Homelander, that had more of an emotional impact. Old with actual character and not humor >>>
Hey man I agree with some of the stuff you’re saying if I wanted to enjoy the boys as a story focused show sure it was some good writing. But with that being said I saw others characters writing enough to keep me intrigued and interested in the whole story as a whole while also having the other aspects of comedy and tension
Same, it felt a punch in the gut when Noir died. I remember my jaw dropping, I was in pure shock. Then felt so much anger and sadness, as this guy we were just getting to know died in front of us. With Becca, I saw it coming. Despite a whole season with her, I didn't care half as much when she died. Nothing against her, but I liked Noir far more
him being isolated made it all the more sad. With becca, one everyone knew it would happen eventually, and two her memory and will lives on through other characters in the series. Black Noirs death was so sad because after 3 seasons of having no idea what this guys deal is, we learn about his tragic and brutal story and get to see the world through his eyes. His death is sudden and irrational, and no one knows what was going through his head except us.
New Noir is a bit of a joke tbh. I get where they're going with it, but tbh as of his and deeps fight with the boys and a train, he's a joke. He can fly and say 'eat a flying dick' just to get blown out the window. He can slowly dodge shotgun blasts just to get hit, and I don't even know if he's any good at hand to hand/knife combat because I haven't seen him even try any yet (as of se4e07) and I get that this is a new Noir but that was what he was best known for before! Disappointed in his story dev so far tbh
I love new black noir, but as you said, he wouldnt be the same without the old one, so i dont think he is better, just different. Also i think he is probably a clone of the old noir. Not just a rando.
@@rhysjeffery3401 a clone? Nigga wut 💀how would that make any sense? So they got a clone walking around just ready to be called in to play noir? Why not any of the previous seven members? We haven’t even seen them do anything like cloning, that’s an assumption you’ve made

There weren’t “so many characters stronger than Black Noir”. The only two characters that were physically stronger than him were Homelander and Soldier boy. He has defeated Queen Maeve, Kimiko, Starlight (multiple times), and he even was essentially a one man army when he went into the Middle East to fight those super terrorists. I would even go as far as to say he was the second strongest in The Seven under Homelander, and second to Kimiko, he had the best regeneration. The only reason he was killed with one fist by Homelander was because this moment was used to further the plot and end off his story. Furthermore, since he would approximately be in his 60s when he was in the show, he most likely doesn’t age like Soldier Boy considering he was still in tip top shape in contrast to aging characters like Homelander noticing their deterioration.
Queen Maeve is stronger than nour she got him in a chokehold and he couldn’t escape. Then A train is the 4th strongest. Kimiko gave a good fight to noir while a train beat her in seconds. He pulls trains as a workout in season 1. Black noir is tougher but a train both faster and stronger. And black noir is still strong enough to casually throw people, I’m not saying he is weak
The new noir isn't better because they're two completely different characters that wear the same suit. Old Noir was complex, he didnt speak cause of his trauma, he was the oldest member of the seven and knew shit everyone else didnt, he feared Homelander cause of what his dad (soldier boy) did to him and he was just completely fucked up mentally
exposition doesn’t automatically mean i have to care more about the old noir. also them being 2 separate people doesn’t matter bc they share the same mantle dude
knowing why black noir was quiet doesn’t really mean you can’t like him bc he was quiet. i think him basically saying how he thinks this noir with a personality, more reactive, more human is a better noir is pretty sound. sure old noir was cool but this one’s cooler
Noir s back story is what made the character but even before then we loved him . We love the mystery . Then we find out he s the product of tragedy and trauma , and then we find out he’s completely batshit crazy. It broke my heart when noir died

When the Boys see that Noir speaks and flies, I don't think they realized this was a different guy that the one they knew. I also agree that Becca's death was the saddest because of the weight it held, but the first Noir was also up there just because it felt like his story of getting justice was cut short.
I think the old one is better because The whole thing with him not talking was part part of his persona and backstory, which made sense and that’s why I like that character
Old Noir was so great because of his relationship with Homelander. We know that Homelander and Black Noir were best friends Noir helped make Homelander the evil man he is.
black noir couldn't even talk because of the beating that soilder boy gave him because it damaged his voice box and he got some of his brain freaking ripped out making it even harder for him to talk and because of his face it made him even worse
What I love about this new Black Noir is that he is a character that’s representative of the audience, the viewer, reacting and commenting on everything that is out of place like we would after witnessing such atrocities. Great direction for the character. Like if we’re in the Universe of the Boys or even be working on the set of the boys most of us would behave exactly like new Noir.
I personally like the old one because I prefer deep characters, but you can't really compare the two since they are so different, one is serious and wuiet, the other is just pure comedy
The reason why everyone loves the original black noir is because he doesn't talk. He's in his own head, He's in mysterious character, He's terrifying. He was cool, but now that he has this average Joe voice. It makes him seem less intimidating
