I was in the market for an affordable fuel economy car, due to gas prices sky rocketing, since I was debt free and didn't want to put myself back into too big of a debt, I went for the LT, I test drove other cars, but I was sold on this one after driving it. My sceptism went away the moment i drove it. It drives well, and despite the small engine, it does pick up rather quickly, it doesn't need a large engine to haul the lighter weight. The trunk space is enough for groceries and basic shopping. If you need more trunk space, you'll need to pull out and tuck the back seat cushions so that you can lower the back seats flat. and you'll get a ton of space. My best friend is a big ol' guy (6'2" 280lbs) and he fits in the passenger seat fine.
I definitely recommend this car for those who wants something affordable.

Great car. Very maneuverable in traffic. Easy to park. 36 mpg in the city for me with the CVT. I fill the 9 gallon gas tank once weekly. Low maintenance costs - tires are about $55-$60 ea. I'm rooting for subcompacts to make a comeback. Love my Mirage. But the Spark's exterior and interior looks better IMO, cheaper parts, and a much bigger dealer network, faster off the line. As far as the Mirage, its got a better track record with the JATCO CVT7 than the Spark, so better reliability IMO, bigger cargo volume room, more rear passenger legroom, back bench folds down farther even with front seat all the way back, longer warranty, and better mpg. You can Uber in a Mirage but not a Spark.

Nice that there is still a small, light weight hatchback available in the US. Scion is gone. Toyota doesn't have anything. Honda Fit was my favorite still available, but not available in the US anymore. I wish they would drop the giant gaping black grill on the car. Sadly, that has been the design trend for the last several years. I will be so happy when that finally ends. The car would look OK in black. The front is ugly in any other color.

I like my Spark a lot but let’s not blow smoke about the back seat of the spark. It absolutely is as bad as it looks. If you are over 5-9 you will need to scoot the seat forward to put the back seat all the way down. If you try to sit in the back you will barely have enough leg room and your head will touch the headliner. I would go as far to say the back seat is unsafe for adults.
Reasons to consider the spark is driving in it with just the driver and a passenger and maybe up to two kids. The front row has plenty of room for woman and smaller frames men. If you are a large guy you will feel confined even in the front.

The last 2 Chevrolet cars left is the Spark & Corvette now. Sparks made in Korea & some in China so there not a real Chevrolet. Will not hold resale value well at all. Do not get the automatic as they use CVT & there not to reliable yet. 5 Speed manual is one to get if going for this vehicle. I leased mine & sorry I did & can't get out of it unless I sell my lease or crash the vehicle since GM has GAP included in leases.

When I bought my Spark I instinctively knew that the resale value would be paltry. I bought it for city driving and affordability. However, I do understand your bringing this up .

It's good thing it is Korean made. They've been making the same model type for so long, it's well-tweaked.
I agree regarding the Jatco CVTs are hit/miss (mostly miss). I went with the manual and love it.

You know there is something wrong when the cheapest car is at least $15,000.......Ideally, cars should be able to go one million miles if they came out with indestructable materials instead of "cutting corners" using the cheapest materials.....Why should cars cut corners when they charge an arm and a leg to buy a car...?...i think even $15,000 is too much...i hope the car companies that charge tons of money for their cars, get sued and go out of business, especially when they are still making very expensive cars with faulty transmissions, engines, parts, etc., even sometimes to the point of the engines catching on fire...Car companies, banks, etc, are absolutely criminal, and greedy.....This society is always serving to the elite / rich......Well, that's going to change eventually...it's absolutely insane.......Hopefully some charitable person, not focused on money, will come out with very cheap cars that put the other companies out of business...And maybe they will run on air, as i think Nikolai Tesla may have come up with, long ago......Better yet, a society without money.......Thanks for the informative video...
