Funnily enough I actually bought both DB and DBZ manga box sets a month before he sadly passed away.
Underrated compared to Z. Red Ribbon and the Tournaments.

@@TheDarkSage There's a youtube channel called Mister Fusion. He breaks down every manga chapter of Dragonball to Z. I recommend it highly.
Also, I miss the fantasy world of dinosaurs and robots of the OG.

DBZ was basically my childhood. I watched it with my dad on TV, swapped VHS tapes around with friends, all that stuff. Good times. But Dragon Ball is my favorite. I love kid Goku and the lighthearted nature of this series, along with its humor. About to get this box set and this video made me double down on that decision. Thank you, man!

Dragon ball z was my first real anime. And Naruto was my first manga series.

my favourite arc in Dragon Ball (including all the shows) is Tenshinhan arc for anime and Piccolo Jr. arc for manga
even though I think Piccolo Daimao, and 21 Tournament are great

I feel like if you can’t enjoy dragon ball then you can’t enjoy or appreciate anime in general 😂 HOT TAKE. But it’s just kinda true. A lot of ppl got into anime because of dbz and db and I get if it’s not your cup of tea but disrespecting it and calling it TRASH can say a lot about someone 😂 just me tho.
Just cause someone doesn’t want to watch a show with shitty pacing and animation worse than og snow white doesnt mean they cant appreciate anime

@@ZENEdits444 for the time it came out (late 80s / early 90s) db and Dbz has some of the BEST animation of that time period. Stop it, beserk 2016 is fully cgi and choppy db and Dbz were hand drawn animations that took time and quality seriously there is no comparison

BEFORE I buy this, I HAVE to know about the censorship. Is this the version with all the blood censored, words, objects or bath foam covering Bulma's boobs when they're shown, or is it the one that *actually* shows it as Toriyama drew it? It's not that I'm "thirsty" for that - I have a wife, I can have boobs when I want - it's the principle of it - I don't think the original art should EVER be touched. ESPECIALLY now, with Toriyama gone from us, i want to see it preserved AS he drew it, no changes. Maybe you can do a comparison of the same chapters (I believe Bulma is *fully* topless in volume 1 and her breasts are completely shown when Yamcha is fighting the invisible man - I think that's volume 3 or 4) - I use THOSE scenes as my go-to way of telling if it's the censored version or not - if you flip to it, and there's no nipples, it's VIZ censoring it.
I'm just not keen on dropping THAT much money for a product which distorts Toriyama's original art at all, is all.
There's OTHER ways VIZ has censored this manga, too - like Bulma flips Goku off - but THEY change it to her index finger, which is just weird, changing the placement of the words when fake Bulma flashes her chest so that it covers the nipple, strategically placed bath foam in nude scenes that TORIYAMA DID NOT DRAW - and that's just gross to me - the idea that someone went in and DREW OVER Toriyama's work because they couldn't handle a female breast. THAT is worse than any nudity. That's vandalism.
