Finally...! Someone installed a high-quality, mandrel-bent X-pipe instead of one of those prestamped cheapies...! Its effect was undeniable considering how raspy the exhaust ended up being. I'd put a small resonator on it to smooth out the tone, but I'm sure he gained a tiny bit above 4000rpm.
I've always liked the aeroturbine muffler for the hemi. Loud clean tone and doesn't blow your brains out with drone. I'm not sure they make them anymore or not. Non resonator version of course.
This is exactly what I plan on doing with my truck. The only difference is that I’m gonna do a 3” system instead of a 2.5”. Plus no mufflers or resonators. I don’t like the raspiness of a small diameter system.
Crossover before the X serves no purpose unless you actually run both banks close to equal length. The pulses if both banks will still keep the same sound of that as a Y Pipe merger.

It's pretty raspy under load. Sounds good at idle and less than full throttle. Interesting setup.
