When Kyuho said “I already took a nap,” I had to laugh because my husband and I slept early then had an alarm for 10 min before midnight. And yes we are in our 30s. In our younger day, we went to new year event. Now, stay home and take nap so we can stay pass midnight.

What a warm and lovely family gathering !! I am from Iran and we have totally different new year , our new year will begin with spring season and some people prefer to celebrate it with their parents and some do the same as you and then pay a visit to their parents/ we have a lot delicious sweets and usually make a fish and rice combined with some especial herbs like dill for the new year meal ! But as we have different cities and traditions it differs to every city and each part of my country has it’s own weather but my hometown ( southern part) in springs has a very pleasant weather not too cold not too hot . You can smell the citrus blossoms every corner 🌱 🌸

I just love family time! Everything that Kyuho’s mom and dad were saying about you Sarah! OMGEEE! My heart is so happy for you! I’m a firm believe that God puts people in each others’ paths for a reason. You and Kyuho are MADE for each other! You’re a beautiful couple with beautiful families on each side! I’m sooooo happy for you both! Sarah, you taking on the special Korean holiday traditions, speaks volumes on how amazing you are! The traditional dumpling soup looked delicious! My husband is Hispanic, and has taken on our traditional Japanese New Year traditions. We have Toshikoshi soba just before the stroke of midnight, then we have traditional ozoni (mochi soup), as our first meal on New Years Day. Eating will commence later on, with a traditional Osechi ryori-where cooking began all day long on New Years Eve, then into the New Year, before guests arrive. It’s my families’ ‘Christmas,’ as well, and we invite friends to partake. This year, we hosted 25 people. It’s a lot of work, but seeing the happy faces is worth it. We promised my mom, before she passed away, that this tradition would carry on. Now our son is learning. Thank you for sharing this very special family time with us! Take care!

Happy New Year! Beemo was so adorable trying to be seen (maybe he even wanted to jump onto the table) when everyone was having lunch. I love reading too and have been working for a major publisher for the past year which is really exciting. Non-fiction and self-help is my favourite genre, but I admit that it takes a lot of effort and diligence to get through these sorts of books because you need to think a lot when reading them.
Oh wow, that must be such an exciting job 😮📚 I can blow through fiction books no problem, but I find with self-help books, I’m more of an ‘audio’ learner in shorter/smaller chunks. It’s made the world of a difference~

It was a special New Years this year. My family met my BF for the first time AND the family I lived with when I was an exchange student in the US came to visit as well, so they met my parents as well ! It was really nice to have so many people I love in the same place ! Very special moment ! We had diner together that my mom made and then we just cheered and watched my neighbors firework show ! Great memories

For many many years, until recently, I worked nights at different fancy hotels. So I’m actually used to working New Year’s Eve. But the venue is usually hosting huge parties so the atmosphere is pretty festive even if you’re working. And this is in LA, where yes it’s not as cold as Seoul, but it’s still pretty chilly once the sun sets (desert weather). So I’m not out partying myself but I’m not at home either. 😂❤️

Happy new year, Sarah and Kyuho! Staying home for NYE is great even in LA, where I live. It's actually not that warm here in the winter so going out during December is not the most pleasurable thing to do. It can get down to the 40s and 50s (and sometimes even 30s!) in the evenings. And this city is so huge and things so spread out that you often have to drive 30+ minutes on the freeways to get anywhere.
Yeah, and one year, driving home after NYE, I saw a car flipped upside down on the freeway. 😬 So you also have to contend with drunk drivers on that night.
Catching up with videos now😂 I venerated with my boyfriend for first time this year so flew back from Norway where I venerated Xmas. Wanted to avoid central and the crown and all that transport issue so had dinner nearby in a hotel and then bar which we booked 😊 chilled. Glad you and Kyushu had a cozy one at home

They have excellent stability as well as ‘action mode’ so we don’t use a gimbal. As for a tripod, just a cheapy one from Coupang, and a mini selfie stick/tripod for on the go. We have a mini LED portable light :)

Although I try to understand most of what's being spoken (taking hints from any words I know), it's not easy but like you, Sarah, I also try to communicate back, even if it's in English. I am picking up new words here and there though! How is the Korean language going for you, Sarah? Do you understand most or all of it at this stage?
as a middle eastern, for hummus tip, when you store it in storage jar pour some olive oil above to cover the layer and sprinkle some paprika on top. that would amp up your hummus the real middle eastern way

Watching Kyuho make hummus gave me a flashback to when Kyuho made hummus a while back and he forgot to soak/boil the chickpeas before blending them 🤣 Sarah, that shade of pine green looks so good on you! 😄It's also a great combo with your lip tint colour and earrings. When I was younger, the church that I went to had a New Year’s Eve formal- indoors- because we lived in a state where winters were cold. I’ve never been into clubbing. I’m glad that you guys enjoyed celebrating. The dumpling soup looked good as did the famous Kyuho chicken and hummus bowls. That’s a cool resolution Sarah. You know, I read a lot and I’m interested in a lot of non fiction work, but as you say its a bit hard sometimes to keep that interest high until the end! I found that using Audible helps me go through non fiction books since you can do something else while listening keep yourself from getting bored. I tried Blinkst too and its useful but some books are worth reading cover to cover, so its another option!

I'm on my late 20's If I'm on town I've always spent new years eve with my family the only exceptions have been when I traveled (just like 4 times), this time we had to watch a movie because we all were so sleepy, 10 min before midnight we got ready, then toasted, hugged each other and went to sleep right away haha About the weather, winter in my city (Guadalajara, Mexico) is getting warmer every year fresh mornings and nights but warm afternoons... right now is almost 4pm - 26C but it will down to 9C at night and 5C in the early morning... so crazy haha I want to wear my warm scarfs but it just gets too warm during the day... Anyway hope you guys have a great week.

Non-fiction and self-help is my favourite genre, but I admit that it takes a lot of effort and diligence to get through these sorts of books because you need to think a lot when reading them.
Oh wow, that must be such an exciting job 😮📚 I can blow through fiction books no problem, but I find with self-help books, I’m more of an ‘audio’ learner in shorter/smaller chunks. It’s made the world of a difference~

It was a special New Years this year. My family met my BF for the first time AND the family I lived with when I was an exchange student in the US came to visit as well, so they met my parents as well ! It was really nice to have so many people I love in the same place ! Very special moment !
We had diner together that my mom made and then we just cheered and watched my neighbors firework show ! Great memories

For many many years, until recently, I worked nights at different fancy hotels. So I’m actually used to working New Year’s Eve. But the venue is usually hosting huge parties so the atmosphere is pretty festive even if you’re working. And this is in LA, where yes it’s not as cold as Seoul, but it’s still pretty chilly once the sun sets (desert weather). So I’m not out partying myself but I’m not at home either. 😂❤️

Happy new year, Sarah and Kyuho! Staying home for NYE is great even in LA, where I live. It's actually not that warm here in the winter so going out during December is not the most pleasurable thing to do. It can get down to the 40s and 50s (and sometimes even 30s!) in the evenings. And this city is so huge and things so spread out that you often have to drive 30+ minutes on the freeways to get anywhere.
Ohhh, never thought about the traffic aspect of things in LA for NYE 😨
Yeah, and one year, driving home after NYE, I saw a car flipped upside down on the freeway. 😬 So you also have to contend with drunk drivers on that night.

Catching up with videos now😂 I venerated with my boyfriend for first time this year so flew back from Norway where I venerated Xmas. Wanted to avoid central and the crown and all that transport issue so had dinner nearby in a hotel and then bar which we booked 😊 chilled. Glad you and Kyushu had a cozy one at home

We have always filmed with our iPhones, and currently use our two iPhone 14 Pro Max phones to film. They have excellent stability as well as ‘action mode’ so we don’t use a gimbal. As for a tripod, just a cheapy one from Coupang, and a mini selfie stick/tripod for on the go. We have a mini LED portable light :)

Although I try to understand most of what's being spoken (taking hints from any words I know), it's not easy but like you, Sarah, I also try to communicate back, even if it's in English. I am picking up new words here and there though! How is the Korean language going for you, Sarah? Do you understand most or all of it at this stage?
as a middle eastern, for hummus tip, when you store it in storage jar pour some olive oil above to cover the layer and sprinkle some paprika on top. that would amp up your hummus the real middle eastern way

Happy new year, Kyuho + Sarah + Beemo + the resident stray kitties! Omg, Tanqueray gin is good. Bit pricey but definitely worth it. I love it with tonic water and a bit of sliced cucumber. Watching Kyuho make hummus gave me a flashback to when Kyuho made hummus a while back and he forgot to soak/boil the chickpeas before blending them 🤣 Sarah, that shade of pine green looks so good on you! 😄It's also a great combo with your lip tint colour and earrings.

I don’t know if I got these recommendations from you or not, 😅 but if it wasn’t you, I think you would love “the henna artist” and “the light over London”. Have you read them?

Happy New Year! We usually bring in the New Year as a family or at our church. We pray in the new year. When I was younger, the church that I went to had a New Year’s Eve formal- indoors- because we lived in a state where winters were cold. I’ve never been into clubbing. I’m glad that you guys enjoyed celebrating. The dumpling soup looked good as did the famous Kyuho chicken and hummus bowls. That’s a cool resolution Sarah. Audiobooks are the key for me as I spend quite a bit of time in my car with and without my kiddos, commuting for work, etc. Your sponsor seems cool! I may have to check it out. You know, I read a lot and I’m interested in a lot of non fiction work, but as you say its a bit hard sometimes to keep that interest high until the end! I found that using Audible helps me go through non fiction books since you can do something else while listening keep yourself from getting bored. I tried Blinkst too and its useful but some books are worth reading cover to cover, so its another option!
I have tried Audible as well! I like it for fiction books, but for non-fiction books I definitely prefer Blinkist, personally ☺️

I'm on my late 20's If I'm on town I've always spent new years eve with my family the only exceptions have been when I traveled (just like 4 times), this time we had to watch a movie because we all were so sleepy, 10 min before midnight we got ready, then toasted, hugged each other and went to sleep right away haha
About the weather, winter in my city (Guadalajara, Mexico) is getting warmer every year fresh mornings and nights but warm afternoons... right now is almost 4pm - 26C but it will down to 9C at night and 5C in the early morning... so crazy haha I want to wear my warm scarfs but it just gets too warm during the day... Anyway hope you guys have a great week.
