  • I had the best day working with my dad, brother, and grandson on this 1951 Chevy. We installed a new exhaust, fuel tank, fuel line, brake light switch, and replaced the battery cables. FYI the battery cables came from my dads 1990 Chevy truck that I rebuilt.
    I got the exhaust, fuel tank, and brake light switch from eBay.

    Man that is a great story! And actually that is what old cars do with people: they gravitate around the car and have a good time. I hope you guys can enjoy the car and create good memories.
    PS: as that has been in the family for so long, I would say it deserves to be well kept and enjoyed. I would say try to keep it on the road as much as you can

    I'm a little confused. You keep calling the young man "my grandson". I'm assuming that he's actually your dads grandson, a.k.a., your nephew?
    Also, I sure hope that you had some REAL (unpasteurized) apple cider on hand to wash that "gasket" down with!
    The "All Wheels" swap meet is this weekend at the fairgrounds 1 county north of me. It's nowhere near the size of a Carlisle meet but, I'll definitely be heading over in search of a few things for my V-8 Ranger project. The main thing I'm looking for is an 8.8" rear with 3.55 or 3.73 gear ratio and a locker. Wish me luck!

    My first car was a 52 Plymouth Belvedere. The flat head 6 was whisper quiet. My uncle bought it new, gave it to my dad who gave it to me. Two tone green with a visor over the windshield.

    Reminds me of Dad and me workin' on the '57 Thunderbird of his. Or the '66 Tbird. Or my '66 Mustang. Or whatever else we've worked on/are still workin' on. And my brother on occasion too, but he was not nearly the gearhead.
    Definitely memories to cherish.

  • @Andrew-zv4fm
    @Andrew-zv4fm 11 месяцев назад +2

    That is a heartwarming story, Eric. It is nice to see 3 generations and your brother there.
    My Godson is kind of into cars and whenever I am doing something with it (my mechanical experience is limited) like change the air filters or the cabin filters and he is there, I will have him help me. But at least sometimes we go to car shows.
    But for the most part it is video games. We play video games together and enjoys that.
