  • In celebration of Karen's 70th birthday we went to the North Carolina mountains for a few days. One stop was Franklin, NC and a visit to Cowee Mountain Clay. Brian & Angie were gracious enough to let me video them in the studio and gallery. Angie does a great job at explaining the process for "Making A Face" and it was interesting talking to Brian about some of the techniques uses in making his pots.
The Face Jug Karen is holding at the beginning is a bird house which was one of the items she picked out for her birthday. We will hang this in our backyard and hope for a bird to nest.

What a wonderful birthday trip. I love the jug Karen picked for the birdhouse. It was very impressive watching Brian, Angie and Bill in the studio! Definitely beautiful pottery!

Wow! That was great. I love Bill's mug. Really enjoyed seeing how Angie made them, then seeing Bill make one also.

This was a great trip! I can't wait to see the finished mug plus what ever else Brian has in the gallery. It was very interesting to hear about the horse air pots.
