I think this is like a mortgage crisis, kinda cheaper version of Wall Street. Carver is Gordon Gekko and Dennis is Bud Fox. The difference is between 1987 and 2014, the moral fiber of American culture has gotten so twisted, you don't even see a guy like Carver as a villain, he's pretty much just being pragmatic. You know - one man's cruelty is another man's pragmatism. It's an interesting movie for sure, because you can view it through different lens.
