There's my favorite violist of all time playing my least favorite viola concerto so elegantly that I've decided it's actually a pretty cool piece! 😍🤩🥸🖤🎻
Huh, I've never heard anyone dislike the Telemann. I really like it. I do like baroque in general, but I like almost every period of music. Well, at least it's nice to have a concerto that even not too advanced students can play ;) I think the first movement is beautiful, and the 2nd and 4th are fun to play. The 3rd is maybe not too exciting, I'll give you that ;) But of course tastes are different, no problem with that. Still I'm glad Marc Sabbah could convince you a little ;) the tempi for the 2nd and 4th movement are too fast for me, but it's interesting, I've never heard it nearly as fast, haha.
Rocks🤗 beautiful viola solos and amazing bass in red. Speeds in second and fourth movement are too fast and just become a scramble. Better to play less fast with clarity and have the listeners on the edges of their seats trying to follow you.... when it's like that you'll sound even faster to the audience.....
Oh Marc, truly truly one of my favorite violists for many pieces, and the Telemann Fantasia was awesome, which makes this truly difficult to say but... this was a fail. The tempo choices for the second and fourth movements had disastrous consequences. Of course these tempi caused ensemble problems throughout and intonation mishaps for Marc as well as the orchestra, but the true crime is what those tempi do to your sound, making it less exuberant and muddy. What a shame, please please record this again in the future with more reasonable choices. Faster notes do not necessarily make Baroque music more exciting. "Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
One of the most compelling performances I've heard (I'm 73 yrs. old.)

Eh, bravo Marc! I hope you visit Sao Paulo in the near future!
Beautiful. Yummy warm tones on the viola, Marc S. I appreciate your emotional journey in playing this music....and everything I've heard you play❤
Bravíssimo, Marc Sabbah!!!
Always good news when you upload a new piece! Love your unique style
Seit Jahren ist es Mode, die schnellen Sätze zu zerhacken. Dafür sind die langsamen ganz grosse Klasse.
Tu estilo asombroso, especial admirable Mtro M. Sabbah !💐

Uma informação!? Onde encontro uma espaleira igual a sua? Ou se puder me informar o modelo?!
Dove e' il cembalo?

I whole-heartedly disagree. This concerto has been over-played because of its student concerto status it needs a revamp, which Marc has done here. 🥸💗
Audition concerto for me on Colorado Symphony 😊
My audition music for professional Symphony 😊
Agree about intonation. Thought it was me at first, but deffo someone a tiny bit out.
what is the fabric used for the chin cup?
It sounds rushed.
It's sad that the only thing that this performance will be remembered for is the ridiculous face masks forced on the orchestra.
Agree, plus the mask shuts out your senses... How can they feel and sense the music truly?
I find the fast movements too fast and agressive.
viola solo with sheet? sorry, i dislike this.
