My leather craft kit is portable, so I can take it to the park or camping, etc. Square bottles take up less storage space for equivalent volume as well.
I really wish you guys were here in CA. I would so live to do a class with you guys. I'm new to the leather fun, and your videos have taught me so much. Love you guys 💜
From the wood working world, alcohol dyes can be mixed with both water and oil bases. They also dry fast, some people will use a lighter. They are also used to add tinting to clear or light finishes.
I use Angelus acrylic finish both as a resist and top coat. Joe Meling likes the RTC as a resist so I have ordered a bottle. Now that I have watched this it will be interesting to compare the viscosity of the two. The RTC is quite a bit more money. Worth it? We will see. I would bet no it’s not. What say you out there.
I think there's an important thing about the Fenice dye use that may have been missed. I believe you could (and should) canvas buff the dyed leather after drying and before next step. It'll make the colors pop more and adds a smooth shine before any resist is added.
I would love to know how stable they are. For instance, when Tandy's water colors first came out they were famous for bleeding. I like to use Montana pitch blend, which is really an oil, wax, pitch, not acrylic. Is acrylic finish needed?

That extra little wax in there is so delightful!!!
