This is Zero : fever part 1 diary film. In this video you can see how they trying to be themselves instead what people want them to be.
You can found the Hala Hala character here. The hour glass (which later found at the end of Dejavu MV and Turbulance MV). The white mask guy (later in Answer). Ateez songs and MV always related but not in a sequence. We need to wait for all the MV and songs come out and try to place it like a puzzle. Just like the new song -- Dont stop. The compass that Mingi found is the same that Hongjoong hold in Wonderland. So yeah. Keep watching and enjoy the song while waiting for the complete storyline of Ateez journey.

It has great concept.
Many people interpret this song/mv of ateez as a clichè love song where the guys are in love and searching for someone. But for me they are actually talking about they're dreams/goals and how they want to be free, they want to stay asleep because their dreams are more better than their reality. When Mingi said "Please save me say Oh, nobody say Oh" he said those 2 contradicting words, showing that he wants to be saved -at the same time he don't want to be saved because he wants to stay on his comfort. Hongjoong (the blue haired guy) got woke up to the reality that they can't stay on their dreams forever, so when he saw his self sleeping, he run into it to break their illusions and it also made the other members wake up too.
I'm not really sure if they made this MV relating to the Inception movie or not but this is so genius. This is my favorite MV and they're very unique from every other kpops i saw🤧💜
They're story line is very very deep so I hope you'll dig more to them, and i suggest you try watching their Fever Diary Film, it was connected to this MV so you'll get more informations

I can see that, pretty much take everything I say and replace "someone" (love interest) with "something" (like goals/dreams like you mentioned). I didn't really think about it because of the "I'm in love" lyric but I like the way you think!

this is inspired by the movie but also related to their storyline :) ateez are basically time/dimension traveling pirates... there are differents versions of themselves and this particular version is the one who lives in strict land, a place where corrupted government have eliminated emotions to have control over people with a gas that makes them dream, so they are traped in that a happy illusion. They also have Halateez (in black suits, i think u haven't seen them yet) who escaped this dream and are fighting the goverment :) (there is a lot more to the story line actually hahaha)

I rarely comment on videos, but I really enjoyed this one! Love how much attention you are paying to both the music video and the lyrics!
I'm sure others will tell you that this is in fact inspired by the movie Inception, and you're catching a lot of stuff because you're so familiar with it.
There actually was a short film released along with this music video as well: called "Zero: Fever part. 1 Diary film" - it might give some more insight if you're interested.
I also found it interesting that you caught the switch between red and blue - it is something you'll see a lot in Ateez music videos. It's often tied to fire and water. Some music videos will be much more red (like "Fireworks (I'm the one)" for example) and some are more blue (like "Wave"). Some switch between them (like" Turbulence" where the members are often lit in a cool tone on a warmer background or lit in a warm tone on a cooler background, the switching between red and blue is also noticeable in "Deja Vu") Some music videos (and lyrics) even make references to purple (which is of course a mix of red and blue, and I would say that the mv for "Illusion" has a lot of that). Only pointing out the colors in these, and trying not to give too many spoilers in case you do react to them in the future - I would definitely tune in for that :)

Since watching and commenting on this video, I also found this video: "Ateez Color Theory (long ver.)" on the channel The Tiny Bug (don't know if links will be allowed here, so just writing the title) - In case you want to hear more takes about how color has been used in Ateez-lore. It is a fairly long video, but there's also a shorter video from Treasure-era on the channel (it's the part 1 to the long video). It's not the most beginner-friendly video, but there's definitely a lot of interesting ideas, and a bunch of people in the comments who also love to theorize about colors!
I also found the use of color very fascinating, so I remember being excited that it was mentioned in this reaction :)

I just love how you are theorising about this music video and you’re basically right about everything, if I understand the storyline correctly at least (Yes, Ateez has an entire storyline, that has further clues in the “Diary versions” of their albums. If you want some pictures of those to further theorise, I can get you some).
Personally I would love to see you react to Answer, because that is personally my favourite title track, or to Wave and Turbulence but in the same video, the reason for that you will find out if you do.
Fun fact, the same production company that produced The Real also produced this music video as well as ATEEZs other mv Turbulence!

I just really hope you get to see more of ateez and their universe. Their storyline is really deep. People only see them as pirates (I think you haven't seen them in that concept yet) but there's so much more. Their songs, music videos and even live performance are connected. I really like the way you analyzed this. The MV is in fact inspired in the movie, it's one the favorite leader's movie (the guy with blue hair) and actually, lot of their content are inspired in books or other movies the leader likes.
Ateez also have a diary where they tell what's happening in their storyline. At the beginning is kinda confusing but then you get to understand what's the main plot. Inception is not about someone, even if the lyrics says "I'm in love" or explicitly says "you" all the time. Inception is about their dreams and how they Can't live without them now that they have found them. And it's not an speculation, this actually explained by them. But your analysis was so good and I really loved how excited you were. 😁
loved this reaction! i would like to recommend the zero fever pt 1 diary film, where they go deeper into the clips that are used in this mv. its a 20 minutes kinda like a short movie, its incredible.
Some people will relate this directly to the ateez universe storyline but your interpretation is spot on for the story they're telling. The live performances especially depict what youre speaking on, their choreo is their storytelling more so than their videos in my opinion.
Yes, they have the time/world traveling anti government pirate storyline but within that storyline is a basic story of friendship and love. And that's all told within their choreo. You're one of the few people who I watch react to things that would see what I see in their dances.
You were spot on imo, the overall ateez storyline ties into this but the subplot is like the story of the movie inception. Most of their mvs are based off of movies. They have quite a range of genres as well. I'm looking forward to the next reaction! They don't get reaction channels a lot of views lately idk why, I don't know where atiny is on RUclips lately lol but I hope you continue with them. Knowing the other music you're into and loving the same bands you seem to enjoy (kpop but the non kpop as well) I really think you'll dig what ateez has to offer.
I really hope you'd watch a live version of this though on your own. The choreo with the emotion of the lyrics especially San's parts... I know you'd get it. (If you choose to, dont watch a live from a concert, watch a music show live such as mcountdown or inkigayo and watch the full fancam version I wish I could link one 😭)

I realise it pleases me very much to see ATEEZ reactions, thank you for looking into them, I like how you react to music, you go deep into your thoughs and even tho it's not always what the artits meant, it's still very interesting and accurate (a creation is alive : the one who reach it can see whatever he wants in it, no one has control over that). You didn’t wait till the end of the video … You need to go back and watch it and maybe one question would be answered… you know you have to be so careful with K-pop videos especially… Just when you think it’s over it’s really not over lol (unless I turned my head really quickly and didn’t see that it ended…)
I’ll tell you the saddest story though… I love Ateez! I have had tickets to see them since February 20 20 because it was supposed to be here in March 20 20. Well it finally got rescheduled in Chicago for January 18. I came down with pneumonia on January 14 and missed the show that I’ve waited two years to see. I had 7th row floor seats I paid $ for. I didn’t want a refund! I was sooooo upset!! Well hopefully next time.
i would also like to recommend wonderland! the production is amazing and the lyrics also have movie references and the visuals too! its amazing.

This film gives the backstory to the ATEEZ boys in their original home universe.
Who the person is that gives Honjoong the hourglass aka Cromer at the start of the Diary Film is hinted at by watching ATEEZ's Say My Name, HALA HALA, and ANSWER videos, which show us both ATEEZ and their [redacted for spoilers] HALATEEZ (who appear first in Say My Name). ATEEZ has a rich storyline that involves dimension- and time-hopping, with the earlier Treasure Era MVs covering actions in one or more alternate dimensions, whereas the more recent Fever era MVs seem to mostly serve as prequels to Treasure Era. Looking for the content of the Diary editions of their Fever albums will provide you with more "official" post-Inception storyline.
