Most sno-ways are poly plows..and elec. Nightmares..and wings are not recommended for poly plows..most manufacturers make wings for their plows..but they are expensive..western's are over $800..but pro wings and a few modifications cost $250 or less...down pressure is nice at times..but making a spanner bar to put in. Place of your chain can make any plow have down pressure..
@@snopro440lm The poly is for the small trucks. I have the 29R. It comes with hydraulic wings. But you should check out their steel straight plows, the wings slide into the holes at the ends. Time is money. The expense is worth it due to the fit & how quick it can be removed. No bolts
@@davidb9987 not true at all. Check out my videos on plowing with half tons and all my videos with my boss poly. A poly plow and a steel plow side by side, the poly weighs more by a min of 100 lbs. There's allot more steel bracing behind a poly to support it.. it's a common misconception.
@@CountrysideStrong You are correct. I was referring to Sno-ways line up. The poly was used on the small trucks. The bigger trucks are steel with a poly insert as an available option. Some people only remember the little truck clear poly plows Sno-Way made.
Good video. I made a set of wimgs for my old Meyer plow and I cut the tread off an old truck tire for the rubber.. It is pre-formed steal belted scraper
@@Marksmisfitworld looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the wings, how they perform and plowing with a wider blade. Wings are in my near future.
Those welds aren't perfect, but good enough is good enough! At least you take the time to make them look decent. The biggest eyesore for me is when I see guys with their diy trailers and birdshit welds holding it all together.

Both plows too big for my needs. Labor doesn't cost anything it's winter and I'm bored that's why I do this stuff this time of year, it keeps me busy. The wings are $150. I have another $30 into them. Way less than a bigger plow

That would be financially foolish for my situation. Extra weight, extra cost and there is zero circumstances with my accounts that I would need a 10' plow which is what a wide out extends to. If I had parking lots still, then yes it would make sense but not for what I do
@@Firefighterthomas176 no, it'll be strictly for lawn care. Bigger cities, bigger areas it would be a good idea but in my area it's foolish to rely on snow as part of yearly business income.
Great video
I live in Buffalo and did not know about Metal Supermarkets having a remnants bin.
It's pretty awesome
The rubber blocks get chewed up quickly so I bolted steel edges along the bottom on the front so I have essentially a full width steel cutting edge.
Been running then for years and haven't chewed them up. 2 different blades too. Might just be the angle you have them at
@@CountrysideStrong I'm guessing it was from a couple gravel driveways I do. It only took 1 season and I had to add the steel.
Nice job! That steel ain't going nowhere 👍
Thanks buddy
Mossman is a great channel as well, enjoy watching your stuff. Nice to learn from you and others
Thank you
nice. I think you do a good job welding. I don't have wings but may add them next year. enjoy your videos and always learn something
That's awesome thank you
Great welds for a flux core welder for sure. Looks like the new wing setup will work well
I have a full bottle on the back too I can run gas but it's just easier with flux. I think it'll work out well
You would have loved a Sno-Way plow. They make slide in wings. Also down pressure & four sight are great features. Probably same price as Western.

That's freaking genius, never thought of using an old tire
Great idea on the cut and reweld.👍
Thanks
Great job. Just goto tsc or harbor freight and get a metal chop saw. Plasma cutter fumes are so bad for you and a chop saw is cheap.
I have a nice DeWalt chop saw I didn't feel like getting it out
I did the same thing with my pro wings except I just bolted the quarter inch plates on back of the wing and it has worked great
Very nice
I might be able to try out my new wings, cutting edge and back drag edge tonight if we get enough snow.
They're calling for 1-3 in my area. I'd rather we didn't get it I have a truck issue to fix
I just want to try out the new setup after that I don't care if it snows for the rest of the season. Lots of remodeling to do around the house.

What kind of welder are you using?
Lincoln 140HD
get new edges from universal urethane

Why not just buy an old blade- cut 3’ off each end , and adapt them if you want a scoop.
