Great video and cool robot! Here’s an idea taken from when I made my own wall avoiding robot: Ultrasonic sensors have “blind spots”. They work by reflecting sound off of surfaces and listening for an echo, but if the surface is at an angle too great, the sound won’t return and the sensor will not detect the wall. The remedy this, you can continuously turn the sensor and listen for an echo. Also, what makes a roomba good at its job is the algorithm behind its movement. A good place to start is to make the robot turn more; I think the change of angle each runs it encounters an obstacle is too small I think your setup could work without modifying the hardware too much PS you can get a second hand roomba for really cheap. I got mine for ¥4500 and older models (600-800 series) have a serial port you can use to turn the roomba into a robotic platform! That’s what I’m using my roomba for right now
which college do you study at? how did you learn this , i cant find any good courses to start learning ? could you give me a road map to what books to read and where to start? any social handle to connect on?
honestly, i didn't learn any of this from university or any courses. i just bought components and research what they can do and started making things :)
