Well don’t follow him when he says to push the gas pedal in while you shift it. Because that’s something anyone that’s been driving stick should now. Specially if your teaching someone to drive a stick you tell them to let off the gas pedal every time you shift. There’s no need to push the gas pedal in when shifting. It’s actually bad for the clutch when it reengages because it needs to match the now LOWER RPMS (which is what he means when we says to make the shift smoother) but as a beginner you shouldn’t be touching that gas pedal anytime you push that clutch pedal in SO REMEMBER THAT

What I did when I first started driving stick in my tj is give it a little "bwen bwen" as I like to call it when i give it gas. Basically feathering the gas just a tiny bit until it takes off. Then I got use to giving it a little gas and easing off the clutch. Everyone develops their own way. It's very tiny differences that people develop when they drive stick.

Fast forward to present day and I'm wanting to get a Wrangler and trying to decide between Manual or Auto. I'm still not sure yet but I'm at least willing to entertain the idea of a manual ;)
Thank you Kyle! Awesome video I’m just learning manual as well. One question - I noticed you switched to neutral while stopped. Is that necessary for clutch life (but you are disengaged so it shouldn’t matter)?
I learned to drive manual on a 1986 Mitsubishi ram 50. That clutch engages almost immediately when you begin to release it. I am about to get a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a 6 speed. I test drove this and learned the hard way that that clutch engages at the very top. That’s gonna take some time to get used to. Any advice for how to get better at this? driving manual seems very difficult at first but once you have it down its very simple. How can I beat a chevy Camaro?
Race it off road. Traffic is also a nice equalizer if you know how to pick your lines
04RFMCobra drive then It will fall apart halfway that’s when you pass it.
When i got 2nd it kicks.?..what am i doing wrong??!
either letting the clutch out to quickly or taking the revs to high in 1st gear
KyleSVT how many Rpms? should you reach before shifting into 2nd?
So when going to first to second. You should have the same technique just at a faster pace . It’s all smoothness man I used to do what you did and after two weeks I shift way more smooth
A little tip it's better to start from 2nd gear especially with older Ford's and Chevy's.
12000 MILES!? Wow
