PR 122 is typically known as Quinacridone Magenta and has great light fastness. The Opera colors are made with PR 122 but they add fluorescent pigment is well which is why it fades but the quin magenta will still be left behind.
Thank you for the clarification! You’re absolutely right that PR 122 (Quinacridone Magenta) has excellent lightfastness and remains stable over time. I appreciate the insight on Opera colors-since they include fluorescent pigments (some manufacturers dont mention this pigment), they do tend to fade faster, which explains the difference. I think a good takeaway for anyone using Quinacridone Magenta is that while it’s generally reliable in terms of lightfastness, it’s always helpful to be aware of how different formulations (like opera colors e. BV10) can affect its longevity. Thanks again for sharing this;)
@@adriannamarszal True! But holbeins colors, they tend to hold up better compared to alot of other brands! Id say its too early to be discouraged 🥹 I’ll let you know what happens!
Awww! I’m happy to hear some other artist is using it too! I’m super excited to use it when I create a portrait with soft pastels! Currently I use it for eraser dust and…. 🍪 crumbs 😬 🤫 🤣
Hello I only just found your posts, I love the colours that you swatched. Especially that Parrot Pink! I subscribed so I can see more of your lovely faces. I had an Aunt who could paint children, I tried a long time ago now but it’s so so difficult mine looked more like little old men than gorgeous children. Ooh! I wish I had my Aunt’s drawings now, but over the many years they have been lost somewhere. ✨
@ hello and welcome to this community! yes isn’t it pretty ?🥹 it’s lovely that you had a family member who can draw and inspire you. How they make an impact on us is interesting isn’t it? We only think later, wow that person has given me a lasting memory and then you stumble into that inspiration long later. I wish you had those drawings too🫶🏻😭I would say it’s a calling and learn, study and practice! It really just takes practice and eventually who knows, you may get better than your aunt in drawing. I’d say give it a try !!! 🤩🙏🦋let’s recreate that experience!
@@MiwaGardnerThank you for your lovely reply I’m trying hard to make a regular practice. I got Christmas presents of paints and pencils so now all I have to do is…..get going!☺️😂✨
How many times did I say the word pretty? 🤣
I had some of those square paper tiles from Studio Press when I was doing Zentangles. Thanks for reminding me, I think I’ll use them for watercolor.
@@Niki1968-s2f oooohhh I have to look those up. I’m glad it got you inspired to go back!! 🫶🏻🎨🦋

does it mean that this Burke’s Parrot color will really be lightfast? 🤔🤔
It does have the BV10 (fluorescent) so it’s not lightfast. I will be doing and sharing a lightfast test sometime soon! Let’s see🤔🧐🤨
@ Oh, that's sad... Too bad Holbein's new granulating colors aren't as lightfast as the Western alternatives! I was really hyped about them 😥

I use that mini desk vac all the time - after erasing, for soft pastels, coloured pencils dust etc. v v handy!😊
