I used to watch SC2 back in 3rd grade. I still remember when my friends little sister walked into the room and called me weird for liking it. Kid lives in my head rent free
That first match was an absolute blast to watch. Incredibly risky opener by Reynor that ended up paying off. Probably need to take that risk against Clem/Terran to have a chance at winning. Amazing casting, Lowko.
@@INS1cells From watching that series it was more so from Reynor blue-balling Clem with a 24/7 eco harass that kept him from really being able to take the initiative. Putting out fires for about 30 minutes and then losing probably just annoyed him to death.
i still remember from a year or 2 ago that whenever reynor and clem would have a chance to matchup against each other, they would have a friendly banter lol. they had a lot of scrims against each other back then. was fun to watch
Lemmie get this straight: You have to spend 10k MORE on units, macro 2 extra bases, be 150-200+ APM above your opponent and pray that they don't get to ghost in order to win as Zerg against a Terran of the same caliber? Nice!
That is BS, due to the way Zerg making unit, extra 200 apm is not even on par with how Terran have to micro their bio and Ghost, stop lying. It's also in the designed that Zerg suppose to consume the map and attacking as a swam, THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO SPEND 10K MORE , you want be cost effective ? How about we take away your lava mechanic and forcing you to build building like Terran and Protoss if you want to make unit. Tell me which is harder to control, a bunch of invisible siege units that has range of 10 and take 1 second to siege, or a Unit that the so call "OP" snipe ability got interrupted whenever they got hit, cost energy to use, lost effect when out of range, cost money and energy to goes invisible, AOE does not deal permanent damage. Skill Issue.
@@ninjadejedi Ok but the problem is that Zergs actually don't consume the map faster anymore and they usually don't take that many extra bases, especially early game. And if you don't micro/macro perfectly early game, your creep gets pushed back anyway. It's incredibly hard to get ahead on bases now as Zerg because of the mobility of the other races. Helions, reapers, air units for Protoss like oracles. Blink stalker, etc. It's also hard to pressure early game as Zerg now because of wall-ins. Furthermore, the unit cap is 200 for both teams. If Zerg has 200 units and so does the enemy, the Zerg army effectively loses every time unless they micro perfectly
@@swickens930as much as Terran whine about “micro this” and “macro that”, how much apm does it take to send a widow drop? Now how much apm do you need to defend it? All the while, Terran can literally scan your main literally whenever they feel like it. Swear to god these top level terrans losing cuz of laziness lmao.

I haven't played Starcraft in a long time I love watching these videos what I can't understand is why the pros constantly do not kill medivac. It seems like a no-brainer to me, kill the source of the healing
Platinum league zerg here so by no means a pro, but terrans can simply pull away their medivac and draw your units towards their marine fire. Every moment you're targeting the medivac is a moment you're not targeting their other units. I guess you could have hydra target medivac and roach ling target the army but it's really hard to micro it all.
Problem is the good units v. the ground army don't shoot up (ling+bane or lurkers for that matter). I do like ling+bane+muta and hydra armies v. terran bio partly because you can shoot down the medivacs. (and it's why he added some corruptors later on).
Me too... I was Terran main in BroodWar and back then, medics + marines + stim was always broken.. now its more broken in SC2.. I only got into SC2 because my 8 year old was playing some dumb rts io game so I introduced him to BroodWar, now he's 10 and obsessed with both BroodWar and SC2.. I didnt even know micro was a thing, I just treated units as if they wanted to live.. I think all these metas need an extra order of magnitude in their conceptions because at the end of the day Mass anything can guarantee a win unless you can micro and exploit geography Scourge were so good in dealing with these kind of dropship tactics... As long as marines can hit ground and air.. Terran is broken

Clem's micro and speed are amazing for sure, but he's fairly predictable. His playstyle reminds me of Serral. And sure, they win that way, but it always feels very "samey". That's why i prefer Gumiho for Terran, he always is coming up with crazy new builds and reactions. It's the same reason my favorite zerg is Dark.
I think people are to quick to say Terran is op, yes Terran does have a one fit all opener and yes the ghost is op right now, but Zerg also had those moments in its history, roaches where an all most every game opener and zerglings and bealings were to strong as to last year, I’d agree Terran is stronger as right now, but it has been for a short while, and maybe Zerg can be strong too, we just don’t see new strategies being used nor innovation, maybe with time we’ll see a new Zerg meta, lets not forget queen drops are getting more attention and Reynor’s mutas are extremely strong, who’s to say what is to come of this mach up, TvZ is my favorite to play and watch, all i wish for is variety and the insane micro we are getting. I used to be a Protoss player and it got boring, but Max pax and hero are top notch masters and fun to watch. I play Terran and Zerg, but im better at Terran at the moment, but not for much, 3000 and 2900 elo aprox.
There's no way a 1k apm player isn't spamming useless commands lol😅 they would still destroy me, but can you imagine a player with that speed but every command was with intent?

Terran has higher glass ceiling when maxed out with all the possible combination and at the hand of the master like Clem, Terran as a race is an unstoppable force. The only loss would be when Clem made mistakes. Terran has all both defensive and offensive capabilities, and the most important thing, it has zoning attack/defense that practically can kill anything (e.g., ghost/medivac/marines/hellbat/tank/thor/libs/raven/cloaked banshee, etc.) all the combinations are very good, while zergs are very limited and at the highest upgrade, Zerg's air units for defense and offense are definitely weaker. Zerg is meant to 'swarm'. If Zerg fails to swarm and Terran can bring it to the endgame, most likely Zerg will lose with the 'zoning' terran attack (mostly ranged, deadly attacks from siege libs, siege tanks, ghosts, widow mines, medivac+marines/hellbats/marauders) compared to easily mobbed from a far mutalisk, Clem should have won all the games
I can't really understand Clem smashing his keyboard against mutas. I mean... He was playing terran and Reynor absolutely out-played him despite the fact that terran is way more powerful than zerg in a TvZ matchup. Sure, anger is a thing I deeply understand at that point but I could sympathize more if he didn't play terran.
@@ninjadejedi so you're saying Serral showed some "no-brain zerg" gameplay in his matches against Clem? I've watched those matches and I heavily disagree, Serral was good and so was Clem. Assuming you meant some "autopiloting" in matches for some matches, I'd say it's something every professional player does. In fact, Clem did more auto-piloting in those matches than Serral. You also need to consider the fact that Serral recently came back from his military service which means he had around 2 months to replenish his muscle memory AND develop himself further. (I think he did 8 months of military service but please correct me if I'm wrong since Finland also has 5 months-long conscription as well as around 12 months-long conscription programs).

you can't kill them with lings or banes, if you try with mutas the marines will shread them
You can see queens trying but they do really slow chip damage while they walk into the marines and can't push further

Is there a consensus on how the balance is at the moment? To me it seems that zerg has to work twice as hard for similar results than terran.
