I agree she wasn't trying to bite. If she were, as close as Esmae was she would have definitely been bitten. As was mentioned, the dog looked like someone was feeding her. She looked too health and heavy to be scavenging.
I'm glad neither of you were hurt and that you found another way out.

The dog was protecting that room, of course she had puppies in there you cold leave if you want, off the front doors was not true that place where the dog was.
