- This Benz may be 45-years-old, but it still drives with the power and grace of a strapping lioness. What's it like to own a timeless classic like the 1976 Mercedes Benz 450SL Convertible?
Hey Throdle! Join Nadine and Norman in Missouri as we get a tour of Throdle App member Norman's classic 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Convertible he fondly named Angie. Norman speaks about how he's kept the car in shape and running well over the years since he's bought it, making adjustments and maintaining the likes of the suspension and the undercarriage of the chassis.
We also get to see Norman's insight on how the 450SL models of today compare to his own, how he came to give the car its name and how much he loves to drive this German roadster with the top down.
If you're interested in Norman's 450 SL and checking out the rest of his massive classic car collection, make sure you download the Throdle app and follow him @DonVito.

What's your favorite classic Benz model?
The 190E from the late 80s made for homologation requirements
@@AW_DIY_garage Oh yes!!! that thing was the fastest one before AMG!
R 107 450 SL
Such a timeless design great back story on the name. The video edit is phenomenal and the aerial shots very dramatic way to step the game up I love this video!!!
Thank you for the amazing feedback 🙌
@@Throdle most welcome 🙏
Great professional presentation, looks like it just came off the lot brand new. I drive my 75 450 SLC at least twice a week. Regular maintenance I can handle myself. Love these cars
Nice to see a new video from you guys.
Thank you! We have had other videos we've posted, but you're right we haven't released an Originals episode for a couple of weeks. Glad you enjoy them - it's always appreciated to hear!
Nice! Always thought Missouri was farmland, was pleasantly surprised with the way it looks!
Yes it's lovely, and not all flat!
Our 75 450SL has a 5.7 GM and TH350 Trans in it. Talk about reliability and cheap parts. Very little mods needed to install. This car is not any quicker, but, I don't need a personal mechanic on retainer to follow me any time I want to take a road trip. Great channel, thanks for this review! To be a import, these truly have a place in American history. Iconic 70s/80s auto.
I bought a 1972 Mercedes Benz in 1983....still enjoying it....pure luxury and performance.....
How much did it cost
I love this car...
Extremely beautiful car
Nice lines 😍..... cars nice also!
Hi Norman. I got my dream car, 1977 450sl, ! I can feel the quality workmanship while driving! Where the hell is the fusebox?
Congrats Tyler! Let us know about your progress 👍
In front of the right door, on the inside😁
Hi I have a 1977 450sl on the dash there is a button to the left of clove box it has an m on it can you tell me what is for also you car is beautiful.
Love the car! I am planning on getting a 1972 450sl to be a daily driver. I was wondering if you think they can make good daily drivers?
Well it certainly is luxurious to drive!
do you have a referal as to what sight you order parts from
Thanks Norman , I own a 75 red 450 SL ❤ , but doesn’t turn over just cranks , we checked everything ! Want to get it running soon in Spring, we think it might be trigger points , bad? Will need yr help in spring thanks agian
It was said 1976 and 1977 are the best 450SL ever made, I would like to have one but am afraid of the maintenance which will break my bank.
That and gas!
I have a 1977 450sl, and I haven’t not been happier I sold my 300sl -24 r129 to get the 450sl, and I love it obviously petrol is pricey but it’s a V8 a car that brings so much joy to drive, and the rarest r107 ever made the 450sl only 139 still resisted in the uk very rare now compared to the 280sl and common engines of the r107
Hi Norman
I brought a 1976 450slc, the car is in good condition, interior has been redone, no rust on the car. The previous owner poured gas in throttle body and the wires caught fire, replacing burnt wire, got car running last year after replacing injectors, but ran rough. This year can’t get car to run, only starts with spraying starter fluid or gas in throttle body, any advice ?
What color is the exterior paint on this one?
I am looking at a 76 450sl with 10300 miles on it, can you give me what to look for? I have no idea with these type of cars although I am very mechanically inclined. The guy is asking 5000. it looks in very nice condition
Love the car. It looks perfect. I have a 1977 Mercedes Benz 450sl in silver. It's got 54,000 original miles. The car has only seen one day of rain. I'm looking for a classic car parts distributor that is reliable and won't break the bank. I've restored Classic mustangs and other domestic cars as well as old British motorcycles before but I want to make this a daily driver. I looking for quality parts to do the job right, the dealership here isn't the way for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I recently bought a 1977 450sl and I didn't realize how expensive they are to maintain and how much money you will lose when you go to resale it.
How much maintenance is involved?.....I know the newer modfels have a lot. such as ABC suspension, top cylinders, and the dreaded bio degrable wiring harness.
That’s that Miami vice benz !!!
Oh yeah! 👍
@@Throdle great vid as always throdle!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
@@ChrisHondaProductions hope school is going well. We miss your videos!

This is my baby. I won't sell it for ANY amount of money. When I die it will go to my nephew.
That’s great. Totally get why!
@@Throdle I mean THIS particular car isn't mine but I have one. British racing green with beige leather interior. Bought it for about $800 , 3 years out of high school, in 1991 and spend around $15k restoring it. It is the only car I have driven since.
Легендарный и редкий автомобиль. Спасибо.
So, this may seem awkward to ask...but, did Normie score? XD
Beautiful car and a woman to match
Very kind of you!
That body was used up until 1989
That is perhaps the largest humam male I've ever seen. Je looks like a former footballer or something. I want the car because it was able to accommodate him. That's high praise
A Mercedes is always better with a beautiful lady with GREAT LEGS !!!
MOMMY ❤
