@@krustykrusader1702 Well, after the Terminids were contained, alot of players, myself included, headed over to fight the Bots. And the worst part? No matter how hard we fought, we could never take Malevelon Creek. It still remains overrun by Bots to this day.
What i love about the automaton combat tracks is just how orchestral it all is, it feels so cinematic when tracers are flying by and your squad is running and dumping lead downrange in a desperate attempt to stay alive. Its why i prefer the bot front over the bug front any day.
I could just listen to the bit with the synthesizer at 6:03 and 10:42 onward all day. It's my favorite part of the whole soundtrack, the creepy but also campy sci-fi vibes that makes you feel like you're in War of the Worlds or something.
I like how the Terminid theme just sounds threatening, fast and ravenous but this theme sounds genuinely evil, it's slow and deliberate, like the bugs kill to live but the bots live to kill (Then again so do the Helldivers lmao)
The Automatons aren't just bugs. The bugs are just animals trying to survive. The Automatons are sapient. I absolutely adore the fact that the music for the automatons is just the love child of the Star Wars OST and Matrix, the opening bit just makes me imagine you walking outside to see a entire city on fire whilst gun fire and tracers erupt up into the sky.
1:00 this part of the theme is forever etched in my brain, after seeing a handful of Hulks, Tanks, a Factory Strider and an entire army of bots marching towards me.
The clicking of the stratagems, the voice lines of the helldivers, the gun fire, the sounds of the enemies, they are all engraved into my mind, part of me as much as blinking is. Down up up down up, down down up left right, "Warning, you are in range of enemy artillery" "calling in a ressuply" "SWEET LIBERTY MY ARM" "5 minutes left in the mission, helldiver. We cant stay this low much longer" "calling in reinforcements! "Reinforcing" "I NEED STIMS" "Out of ammo" "Freedom never sleeps!" "Go now, and should you fall, remember this: Every day is a good day to die for Democracy." I once had a dream where I was playing helldivers2. I never stop hearing the music, the voices, the gunfire.
The Automatons make weapons to kill in the most horrifying way possible, The Berserkers with their twin chainsaws charging at you to cut you into fragments, the hulks with their massive buzzsaw to decapitate and their flamethrower to slowly burn you to a crisp. This music perfectly encapsulates their Sinister lifestyle.
If i had to guess this is probably a dynamic track that varies depending on just how bad it's going in the level? Would explain the kind of "levels" of intensity, something ala project zomboid.
@@VetrDraugr There is probably a bit of music correlation with the "heat" you are bringing down ontop of yourself (heat is an actual ingame stat, but I havent read more into it cause its more fun to not know )
Yeah, I noticed that when you fight small groups of automatons the orchestra is a bit subdued, but when you draw enough attention to yourself it goes all out with orchestral bombardment and intensity. Guess it's like in Serious Sam where you have peace music, medium music (regular combat) and heavy music (boss/overwhelming combat), and it depends on how much 'score points' of enemies are on the screen.
Just started playing this game literally two days ago, but since playing my first Automaton missions, it's bugged me how much the main part starting at 11:18 sounds kinda like Rapture by Blondie Not sure if it's just me or not tho lol
I personally love theme music in games. And i love the difference between terminids and automotan music. Terminids music for me incites a sense that things are spiraling out of control. Get the feeling of chaos is coming, and that we got to get out of there. Automotan music on the other hand gives a feel of a steady march. And a feeling of dread and despair.
This music feels like true war, all of the emotions with it too. Dread, Confidence, Anger, Action, and despair. This, this is why I did bots the moment I could. It felt too real. It felt like what I always wanted, a nearly unwinnable fight. *nearly*
6:08 is exactly where the unused automaton theme was based off of For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, search “unused automaton boss music”. Terrifying to think what JOEL wanted add add with that music
The people say it sounds like a USSR anthem. I think I partially agree - I feel it was more inspired by earlier one, 'The International' (Интернационал), and a little bit of 'And the battle continues' (И вновь продолжается бой) thrown in.
I served my time, I earned my stripes. Oh man, melevolon creek. Shit piled up so fucking fast. My unit was picked off on by one. Until it was just me. I WAS NOT GONNA DIE, ON A FUCKING SWAMP PLANET!
I love the synthesizer parts so much, it really adds that layer of camp 50's sci-fi B movie. I can totally picture black and white flying saucers firing lasers at new york skyscrapers
other than the main theme, and maybe the extraction music, this track is my fave. Mootacoo are you gonna upload the extraction theme? every other upload on YT appears to be just a game rip with the audio levels edited to remove the dialogue/sound effects, and they sound like trash

"Reinforcing" "I NEED STIMS" "Out of ammo" "Freedom never sleeps!" "Go now, and should you fall, remember this: Every day is a good day to die for Democracy."
I once had a dream where I was playing helldivers2.
I will now play this song as my intro anytime I'm going up against my friends because this just fits so well with my villain personality.
7:42 This is only video I've been able to find that captures this audio bite with the strings performing a "slide down" kinda sound.
Just seeing 20 red lights glow straight through the fog on Helldiver difficulty is fucking terrifying
0:43 Dropship!!
Its funny, the devs thought we'd be stomping bugs but the automatons are the bigger threat.
since helldiver 1, cyborg's combat theme was epic.
The patriotism leaving my bloodstream when this banger starts playing
2:04 Me and my squadmates proned to ground watching alot of devastators marching with this song made me afraid to show up and shoot.
RIP automatons 07.04.2024
Sike!
If i had to guess this is probably a dynamic track that varies depending on just how bad it's going in the level? Would explain the kind of "levels" of intensity, something ala project zomboid.
Not really, it's always going bad when you're fighting the automatons. It's just that sometimes you have a bit of breathing room
1:50 Warning you are in range of enemy artillery
Just started playing this game literally two days ago, but since playing my first Automaton missions, it's bugged me how much the main part starting at 11:18 sounds kinda like Rapture by Blondie
Not sure if it's just me or not tho lol
*Warning Reinforcement Budget Depleted*
*PTSD Helldiver Moment*
I personally love theme music in games.
And i love the difference between terminids and automotan music.
Terminids music for me incites a sense that things are spiraling out of control. Get the feeling of chaos is coming, and that we got to get out of there.
Automotan music on the other hand gives a feel of a steady march. And a feeling of dread and despair.
Easy to forget how good this ost is since you hear the same songs over and over, but they really knocked it out of the park!
Average Terminid planet: Second Battle of Geonosis
Average Automaton planet: First Battle of Geonosis.
This music feels like true war, all of the emotions with it too. Dread, Confidence, Anger, Action, and despair.
This, this is why I did bots the moment I could. It felt too real. It felt like what I always wanted, a nearly unwinnable fight. *nearly*
6:08 is exactly where the unused automaton theme was based off of
For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, search “unused automaton boss music”.
They’re back..
This plays and then there is 2 dropships dropping tanks and Hulks as there was already a literal Legion behind you and your squad.
4:50-5:50 is what makes this track legendary
"Grandpa, you fought in the second galactic war. What was it like on malevolon creek?"
other than the main theme, and maybe the extraction music, this track is my fave. Mootacoo are you gonna upload the extraction theme? every other upload on YT appears to be just a game rip with the audio levels edited to remove the dialogue/sound effects, and they sound like trash
Yep! That's on the list. I have to edit together the parts for it.
Finished it! ruclips.net/video/M0_Zvp59TaA/видео.htmlsi=Cf4N7w6MqUC4BqDR
@@Mootacoo thanks a lot!
5:20 even in mid combat just sounds so perfectly executed
The CIS if they weren’t screwing around
i swear to god. The automatons would have just steamrolled the Republic with flamer hulks and rocket devastators
