Her block ability is really incredible. Pair it with a sova or a brim ult with astra pull or molee to avoid them running away anywhere. And her nade can really deny people who like to fake defuse paired with a stun.. I believe that stun works on the defuse noise Edit - just another idea her stun could be paired with a cypher trip for a kill on someone trying to flank. Place the sensor on just a little distance from the cypher trip..and let someone swing on the deadlock stuns contact and it's bound to work because the only way across cypher trip is if your break it. Which simply means that if they try to break it they get stunned because of the huge radius and you get a free pick hopefully.

I think its pretty useless if youre not in an area around it anyways. You can't force enemies to make noise or take advantage of the stun if youre not nearby
Nah, it's already balanced, it just work when the enemies make noise, chamber trip was for a lurk control, but it could spot you just by seeing you. So it's fairly different
the sound sensor can be pretty useful to hold angles and bait shots for someone to swing off after, i can see her being played in like fracture, split and bind where her util can cover the entrances pretty well (bind: under hookah when people drop, front of boxes in a main; fracture: front of stairs in b, front of box in a main and under a drop; split: that wall between a main and site and front of b main box)
Such a great and informative vid, thank you! As a sentinel main that particularly mains cypher, I am beyond excited for this agent. I'm sure a lot of people are going to say she's broken at the start, but honestly from watching your video, her util seems surprisingly balanced for a brand new agent, which makes me even more excited for her public release in game. Literally cannot wait!
Deadlock actually seems very balanced right now. The 7 points for the Ult was a bit scary at first but the amount of time it takes to get caught, the amount of methods to escape from Pheonix Ult, Reyna Dismiss, Yoru Clone and Ult, Chamber and Yoru TP, and so on actually makes it very balanced and way less scary than i initially thought. The Sensors only picking up on sound makes them amazing to stop fast rotates but arent as reliable as say Cypher Trips, since it only picks up on footsteps while the Trips just need to be walked into, and still tell you someone found them. If the opponents are walking, youre not getting any information from them. The Barrier is very unique, kind of similar to Sages Wall with the main difference being that you can see past the Barrier and shoot through it. It seems to have much more health than the Sage Wall, at least the middle orb appears to. All player-type entities cant go through it, but mollies, stuns, Yoru Ult and Reyna Dismiss, bullets, anything without a player-type hitbox (excluding Dizzy apparently) can. (Yoru Ult and Reyna Dismiss is included since they dont exactly have a hitbox like their base models. Reyna becomes invulnerable to any damage, and Yoru cant be hurt by anything that is not a molly but literally exists in a whole other plane of existence, so why would he care about the Barrier if its technically not there at all?) The Gravnet is actually very cool, forcing you to crouch and become more vulnerable. How? Well, it means that anyone who finds you will have a much better time getting headshots, since your head is now body level. The crouch and Slow also makes it hard to escape the net. The main issue i can see people having is that its very hard to tell if someone was caught, unlike Fades Seize, where it doesnt fully disappear if someone was caught by it.
I think the q ability is op for site trap plays. When the enemy plant, your team can immediately play off the stun without having to use their stun util first. Its like an auto breach stun

imagine if on split A, the enemy deadlock lined up a wall to block off retreating from A main, and then the enemy brimstone ults and you got nowhere to go but up ramp, which is blocked off by your own deadlock lol

She extremely feels like a 'clutch-agent' to me. With her ult she can deny any of the common post plant positions. For example ascent b-site when someones hiding in room on backsite. Her sound detector stuns everything on the default plants which makes retakes fairly easier. You can play her ult even in a 2v1 where the one player not caught by her ult has to decide to either free his partner, which displaces his crosshair, or take the 1 on 1.
The stun is pretty strong against fast pushes, really good to have control over site. The nade is kinda bad unless you have a raze that could ult/nade it. The wall is broken but not in a good way, way too much HP, imagine sage and her wall blocking spike. The ult is pretty whack if you have no aim but it depends if you are a lineup god.
I can see the sound sensor being used not so much as a kj alarm bot but more like something you put in a common corner you’ll be holding to give you an advantage if they either run around the corner, or slowly peek and start shooting. Either way they get stunned so if you’re already holding it, big advantage I you. Just don’t get one-tapped 😂
Odin and Ares are gonna come more into meta since there are just so many abilities that need to be broken and you can't do that with vandal and phantom... Gekko ult, Deadlock ult and c ability (the c ability is just takes ridiculous amounts of bullets tbh), sage wall...
I can imagine some people pairing her up with cypher since if they try to break his trip theres a sonic sensor waiting somewhere near it or placing it somewhere where they can see and try to break the cam so you can just swing off of it

Here is a interesting question for the “Sound sensor” ability: “Do silence weapons count as sound for that ability?” It is more quieter, but still makes sound, they have suppressers on them and I’m talking about the “spector”, the “phantom” and the “ghost”, but this can go either way, but I’m very curious of that answer. I can’t find out myself for not having access to the character and not having access to VALORANT in general from a bug, so lmk how that goes Noodle (or anyone else). 😊

good nerf for her ability is when she fires her attack gets like a 0.8 second delay so that it doesn't get used like a raze ultimate. For example she primes her device and to fire she inserts the disk in which will take a short amount of time
At first I thought her signature ability might be to strong but after watching the footage I thinks it's the opposite. It disappears of you die unlike a sage wall, it has only one charge and if broken you do not get another use. Meaning this sentinels signature ability is a one time use, which is either wasted when you throw it to early, the enemy rotates or if the enemy bursts it. Might need some changes on that one.
First impressions are that she seems good but not like a big shift in the META like Chamber on release. Again we have to give her time as the META keeps moving forward

While i can see huge potentials for her traps and ulti in a defense and post plant setups, the fact that enemy flanker/lurker can easily bypass the traps without using any utility since they usually wont run around making noises while infiltrating our back is very concerning... Atleast with cypher's tripwire the enemy have to use some sort of movement ability to jump/teleport over it and for kj/chamber trap a smoke is needed to bypass it.
How does Yoru interact with her abilities? Does his tp go through the wall? Does his clone get blocked? Can Yoru tp out of Deadlock's ult. Can his clone tank her ult? (Since the ult only works on once target)
All abilities can go through the wall, yoru cannot tp out of deadlocks ult because you are under the "detained" effect. If a yoru clone is in front of the ult of deadlock then the clone will instead be put in the cocoon.
Ain't no way, could you imagine how scary it is if you get stuck in a cocoon with no way of getting out, and theres a timer that just says *"Distance until Death"*
Honestly in a post plant situation you could just do deadlocks wall to block them from pushing and sage wall so they can't shoot. so even if they shoot down the wall then they have to shoot the sage wall as well.
Ughhh I feel like this is going to be a reverse yoru situation, where the character is busted and gets nerfed to hell later. Butttt I'll still grind for her, because not counting Yoru and Chamber this is the the only rare case where an agent is so aesthetically pleasing paired with their tactility that I know that I want them ASAP.
im betting that the ultimate will get nerf since if your only one alive and its a 1v2 or a 1v1 you cant escape from it since there is no team mates to shoot at the coffin or maybe they should add a mechanic that if your the only one alive you can break free but you have to like what her net or cypher's cam bolt to remove but its a bit longer for you to be free since both hands are just on your sides
They gotta buff Vandal & Phantom ammo reserve again, imagine Sage/Deadlock combo. Especially in Wood 3, where my teammates doesn't even have a monitor.

I guess my only real question is will the barrier still be viable after you're suppressed by a kayo? Or does it drop momentarily while suppressed?
People tested it and I think only the sound sensor goes away during the kayo knife/ult

i got a team combo idea deadlock will use her net on people and brim will orbital strike the hell out of them while they are still in the net
I think you can stack the net and the sound detector so if you try to remove the net the sound detector will activate by the net removing sound

How does Yoru interact with her abilities?
Does his tp go through the wall? Does his clone get blocked? Can Yoru tp out of Deadlock's ult. Can his clone tank her ult? (Since the ult only works on once target)
I would assume that his tp goes through but his clone does not
All abilities can go through the wall, yoru cannot tp out of deadlocks ult because you are under the "detained" effect. If a yoru clone is in front of the ult of deadlock then the clone will instead be put in the cocoon.

Honestly in a post plant situation you could just do deadlocks wall to block them from pushing and sage wall so they can't shoot. so even if they shoot down the wall then they have to shoot the sage wall as well.
Ughhh I feel like this is going to be a reverse yoru situation, where the character is busted and gets nerfed to hell later.
Butttt I'll still grind for her, because not counting Yoru and Chamber this is the the only rare case where an agent is so aesthetically pleasing paired with their tactility that I know that I want them ASAP.
i wish they can give this much love to the controller role, it is one of my favorite roles to play and I find myself playing it all the time.
harbor has a shooting block but only for bullets, deadlock has movement blocking but not shooting, now we need something that only blocks abilities
im betting that the ultimate will get nerf since if your only one alive and its a 1v2 or a 1v1 you cant escape from it since there is no team mates to shoot at the coffin or maybe they should add a mechanic that if your the only one alive you can break free but you have to like what her net or cypher's cam bolt to remove but its a bit longer for you to be free since both hands are just on your sides
They gotta buff Vandal & Phantom ammo reserve again, imagine Sage/Deadlock combo. Especially in Wood 3, where my teammates doesn't even have a monitor.

looks great for stopping fast pushes in their tracks, I suspect this will be a must pick in low-mid elo where 5 man rushes are rampant.
My questions are if you can destroy the q (the ability that reacts on sound) or if you cand dodge it, if it reacts on sound you can send a skye dog or a fade prowler or something
In the interview they said sky dog wouldnt activate it, and you can shoot it, but it will then go off (stun and give soundque)
