Lol I saw a documentary once about this micro-carver. You know those guys that write on a grain of rice and such. Well, he did alot of swimming cardio every day, to lower his rest heart beat, because the pounding of the heart shakes the body. He had gotten his down to 30 beats per minute. No doubt one of the best in shape people on the planet. smh lol

My grandfather was a watchmaker, and a true gentleman. Now, at agee 78 myself, I wish I'd learnt the skill from him. I liked this video a lot, and subscribed. Thanks for sharing. Anyone who does such great restoration work, or helps to keep dying skills alive is bound to get my deep respect. Thank you.

I’ve watched this restoration through twice now, I always find I’m more relaxed and clam when I finish viewing your restorations. Your calm demeanor relaxes me, and I really enjoy your bantering with your son.
I've watched about 6 different watch repair sites and this is the only one where the vintage cases are restored to almost new condition. It really give me pleasure to see how a horribly scratched up case can be improved with the right skill and tolls such as the Nekkid Watchmaker possesses.
As a heavy diesel mechanic I marvel at the intricate workings compared to my large clumsy hammer bashing approach to some facets of my work. So similar in nature, yet so completely different in design. Thanks for another incredible tutorial.
And yet you definitely don’t want to call him to build you a bridge or even a simple house. So weird because this is so foreign to guys like us who make big things being astounded, when he would certainly be equally so if he watched us do our works. (Diesel is so hard because you need so many different skills plus you have to be both strong and tough).
I love how you involve your kids, I love your humor, I love watching your skills at work. Absolutely fantastic! Thank you for posting such great content.

I have polished injection moulds before and trust me this polishing of the watch parts is not easy to get it as perfect as this master watchmaker has done what skilled man this is 👏
I am in awe of your remembering what goes where when there are so many little pieces to take out and put back together. To be able to organize them is already a feat!
Many watches have a very similar structure; with experience, one learns to recognize each part and what goes where. But the screws definitely need to be kept organized.
Mr. Nekkid. I'm trapped here home because I may have caught the new ( Beer Flu ) and getting tested here in NYC is nearly impossible. I couldn't celebrate with family and friends until I was sure so I was a little bummed out but your latest video hade me happy. Thank You so much and Blessings to you and your family.. .
This was truly a restoration. I'd have to say what I've seen on other channels is more of a "preservation," i.e., service, repair and stop damage. Your end result was beautiful. I had no idea a watch in that condition could be restored to that level.
The complexity of these watch constructions never stops to amaze me ! And all of that wonderful stuff is hidden inside that rather boring housing… incredible !
It's so uplifting to watch these restorations. I love the input from your "little monster" as well. His dad is a kind, witty, and supremely talented man.
I worked in surgery for something over 20 years and assisted on a few hundred open heart procedures and a handful of facial fracture repairs. I have retired into gunsmithing where tolerances are often within a couple ten-thousandths of an inch. So I watch videos like this to remind myself there are craftsmen who work at an entirely different level.

Thanks for the X-Mas gift. So good to see you back doing a full length restoration. The lapping machine is a beaut, but Trouble's right, mind your fingers. Hope you and the Nekkid family have a safe New Year.
It never ceases to amaze me in that you can bring back to life a piece of mechanical art that looks fit for the bin. A fantastic job. Merry Christmas and a happy new yes to you and yours.
That was nothing short of amazing. The watch was transformed from a throw-away derelict to a beautiful collector's piece. And the narration adds is just right - not too much, not too little, entertaining and informative. Thank you very much indeed.
My granfather passed a few years back and in his deposit box was the same watch in your video that he received for 25 years of service at his company back in 1978. The back is engraved with the company name and years of service presented to him in 1978. It has never been worn and looks like the day he received it. I really enjoyed your video and appreciate it more than words can express.
I'm a watchmaker wannabe. I've seen many watchmaking/restoration videos. For reasons I can't explain, I've more lust for having this Omega than any other I've seen. Beautiful! Thank you.
That is one of the most extraordinary things I've seen on video. Wow. A friend sent this to me and I am blown away. Thank you for your commitment to your craft. It's super inspiring.
You a great guy. Just like me you go all out in saving the old broken watches. Envy you for that. I am not a watch repairer and not gifted like you but I get the old thrown ones serviced and preserve them for the next generation. God Bless You...

Fantastic. I like restoring/repairing things since I could first hold a swiss army knife steady enough to not give myself injuries (of concerning extent, at least). Your profession does amaze me a little bit more each time You let me watch, Mr Watch-Healer. It's been a while since we last heard from you. This must be my favourite video. The restoration of the case was brilliant. I know that many watchmakers shy away from this, but the result speaks for itself. Thank you.
A very skilful craftsperson makes it look like an ordinary person could do this with patience. I'm wide enough to know this is how I'd end up with a back of screws and pieces of a watch and one spring missing that managed to fire out of the window. Brilliant video. It must also be very rewarding to know you've rescued a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that had become unwearable. It's again an heirloom quality watch that someone can treasure.
In my opinion, this is the most beautiful watch you've done yet! The work you put in to this piece is amazing and it looks like it belongs in a showcase. Another beautiful job by The Wizard!
As soon as you took the back off I knew, this is going to be a great vid! I like the repairs and restorations, but watching the restoration from a really bad condition is the most riveting! Seeing every disgusting component brought back to new! 🥰
Excellent restoration, like magic! Regarding the dial I have had luck with repairing flaking lacquer like that with hairspray. I clean the dial as you did, being very careful around the printing, then in the end give the dial a couple of coats with my wife's hairspray, it sort of smoothens out the areas that still has some of the old lacquer and the areas that is stripped, giving a mat surface that looks more uniform than not to coat it.
We inherited our Omega Constellation, with a damaged glass and strap but working ok. Paid a weeks sofa time on repair and service, and years on are so glad we did. Fascinating to watch. Respect ! for your skill, experience, attitude, and entertainment. Love it 😊👍
I have to be honest with you. I rarely watch your videos. The reason for this is to allow you more time to make a few so I can binge watch on my downtime and really be able to enjoy your craft for more than an hour at at a sitting. Thank you so much for the love, the laughs and the fine quality of the best a human can be. I hope 2022 is kind to you and yours.
Wow, I inherited exactly this watch from my Dad who passed away in 1977. Inspired me to get it restored to its former glory! It’s got the original sprung strap, and is in very good overall condition, but I guess the internals could do with some TLC by now 👍
This video is the best Christmas present I received! Thanks so much Joe! An absolute stunning restoration! And your video is excellently done! Best wishes to you and yours and best of luck for a grand 2022!
Another lovely episode with a lovely watch at the end. Your sign-off touches on the most important points of life and always makes my heart sing 🎶. Now I will go on to the rest of my day basking in that glow!
That flat lapping machine did a great job. I use a similar machine in my work, but it uses a diamond lapping wheel. It turns at about 200 rpm, but the work table isn't as fancy as yours. The machine is called an "Accu-Finish". Its really designed for doing carbide lathe cutters but has all sort of uses.
Great work Joe.. as a watchmaker and more so as a dad. Love it when your kiddo is worried about hurting yourself.. a special blessing! Frank in Colorado
What a warm, friendly, and always humorous voiced video. And with really a beautiful and fantastic result due to your commitment, talent and masterful craftsmanship, absolutely stunning!
My goodness Joe, artistry at it's finest. Man, I am just blown away by your videos. To say, you do a good job, doesn't do it justice. Nicely done sir!!! No wonder you are enjoyed the World over. Love from The Comox Valley, BC Canada. Merry Christmas to you, et al.
My uncle used to repair and restore timepieces. Watching your highly skilled and painstaking restoration makes me appreciate the high level of skill and craftsmanship involved. Thank you ☺️
I saw you do it, so I know it’s the same watch. Wouldn’t believe it otherwise. I love these classic, simple watches that just do a superlative job of telling time. Really, how many of us really need a Citizen Seahawk or a chronometer? I just want to be told what time it is by a beautiful piece, and now I can know if it’s beautiful on the inside too. Your videos give me a strong desire to hang about like your son, but completely bombard you with questions about what every single little bit does until you send me for tea and then banish me for not knowing how to make it. Keep doing these, I could watch them forever.
Again a remarkable restoration, my dad had this watch in the 60’s I remember he was very happy having an Omega! I wish I knew what happened to it, Thanks for bringing about good memories! You’re a brilliant craftsmen

Thank you for bringing back the memories. I have not worked on a watch since I finished my trade 30 years ago.
I have the same watch, it’s so good to see all the details, enjoy your light heartedness.
One of the most underrated jobs ever this holorogical enginering is amazing and impressive.
And another fine job you've done Ollie! Seriously it was an amazing work to bring it back to a useful life for someone. Blessings to you !
You could get a very nice car for as much as this machine costs.
@@douro20 They're pretty common, so I've seen used ones go for several hundred dollars.
I am a car mechanic. But watching you doing your work gives me Relaxation
Great work Joe.. as a watchmaker and more so as a dad. Love it when your kiddo is worried about hurting yourself.. a special blessing!

Thanks frank
Thank you ☺️
I love the running commentary! I talk to myself a lot while I work on projects.
This is one of the most beautiful case restoratios I have seen. Great job!
Again a remarkable restoration, my dad had this watch in the 60’s I remember he was very happy having an Omega! I wish I knew what happened to it, Thanks for bringing about good memories! You’re a brilliant craftsmen

I have missed our get togethers and so much enjoy your work. It is amazing what you do. The plating and the way you come up with these amazing restorations is something to behold. It seems like old friends getting together when I watch you work. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
No please not in silence, I love the technical information, funny sarky comments and also the input from your little ones, they sound like right characters
Nothing gets you in the heart more than when your son calls you Daddy !
