Have you thought about creating a course with all these processes? It would be incredible!

I teach full-time, but I have some much longer videos that I will be posting here once the editing is done 👍

Yes, some of my videos are just timelapses, I try to record most of my work even if its not intended as a tutorial, it still might be useful.

Are tris okay to have when used like this?

    • @RobotArmy3D

Tris are fine to use in game assets as long as the mesh isn't going to be deformed. Such as when used for animation. Using tris on a deforming mesh can create ugly artifacts.
It is also best not to use tris on models that will be subdivided, such as for use with displacement maps. This is mostly used in film and VFX.

I justr started doing Game Art course in uni and I wanna make a pumpkin asset for my little scene. Im only a beginner so seeing you use tris has terrified me lmao

Nice, hope you enjoy it. Tris are OK for most assets as long as they are not going to be deformed, like for characters, etc. With characters there are very specific areas that you can have tris and poles (a vertex with more than 4 edges) when necessary. But as long as your tris are not too thin and long they are OK with game assets. Every quad is actually two tris in reality anyway, and that's how ultimately the engine will see it. But still , it is good practice to try to keep things as quads where possible.
