Metroid Prime on Gamecube is one of my favorite games of all time, and I've always wanted to cover this track. When Metroid Prime Remastered came out a few months ago I had a blast replaying the game and I felt inspired to finally go for it!
Once I finished producing this I thought it would be a good fit for Gamechops, so I contacted the label and we agreed to joint-release it. It'll be available on all platforms on June 9th.

I wanted the video to be fun and incorporate the visor-scanning element that is such a major mechanic of the game. I created all the scanning overlays in Photoshop using screenshots of the game as a reference. My talented friend John Thompson shot and edited the footage.

Absolutely incredible, coming from not only a deeply passionate synth and 8 bit lover, lover of your work, and also a deep fan of the game growing up with it. Mass-Dopamine content, brother. As a Metroid Prime fan who adores the soundtrack, you couldn't have done a better job with this one. Based on your other covers I expected this was going to be really good. Yo this is great! Keeping the nice vibe of the song while adding your own flair. Last I commented I said I was on my way to beating Metroid Prime 1. Well safe to say I did that and I’m currently 70% the way done with Prime 2 Echoes. Echoes also has glorious ambient tracks such as Torvus Bog and its Subterranean theme too. Love to see more Metroid Prime tracks!

@@GLASYS I think Black Bird has a really cool OST. If you look up playlists for either of those two names (Ryu and Takeaki) I think you'll find a lot of really cool music we missed out on in the west.

Ryu Umemoto (梅本 竜) - Ryokusui PMD Disk 3 - YM2608 Tracks
It's an upload of various Umemoto songs that start off with a very earthbound like song. There's a few Sci-fi ones towards the end. The first track is great for headphones. It starts out pretty simple but gets really fun. Its one of those videos with a keyboard view with the note data.
I hope this game does not run at 500p upscaled to 1440p with FSR in consoles u_u

Honestly I haven't played Metroid since I was a kid/early teen, but it is still one of my favorite gaming series and helped to turn me into the huge sci-fi nerd I am today, so much of that wonder was found in the music, so I love to see others appreciate it.
Haha well I've been lucky, Nintendo has actually never given me any trouble with my covers. But ya never know what could happen, knowing how they can be.
