- In today's video, I will be installing the Acuity Short Shifter. I will guide you guy's through it as if I was there with you, hence why the video is longer than usual to hopefully help anyone with this install. I did not put the whole console back together as I'm going to be playing with different positions throughout this journey. All in all I am AMAZED at this shifter, If you're looking for a quality, well built, Fully Adjustable shifter, THIS IS THE ONE. Acuity knocked this one out of the park. I am not sponsored at all in any way, this is from me doing tons of research on each product that comes out and suits my wants and needs. If you LOVE driving somewhat spirited and aggressive, I would NOT hesitate to grab this shifter, literally feels like a brand new car as, it feels like a bolt action rifle shifting!

So many steps involved, you did a great job explaining. Can’t believe how cheap looking the OEM is compared to the Acuity
You can tell the difference of quality build between the Acuity shifter and the stock OEM shifter easily by me tapping on the oem shifter lol! All in all Acuity nailed this shifter for the 10th Gen Civics!

I honestly think with the quality of Acuity's products particularly this shifter assembly the could charge double and it would be worth it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they don't, but this company makes some of the nicest stuff in the industry.
They really do, I like the fact that they also use their products on their race cars which makes it feel even more authentic on what you’re getting

Lol I bet it is, I did that when I got the stage 1 shift kit. I can’t wait to install my PRL cobra (street) cold air intake today, next is the shifter!
@@inconspicuous_ox brooo the cobra intake is gonna sound SWEET, you’ll hear the induction noise MUCH better, let me know how it goes after you install it! Yeah I’d def recommend the adjustable shifter after, if you don’t want to go after more power but more drivability
I’ll let you know for sure! The previous owner of my car installed the PRL filter from the stage 1 intake kit so I can hear the intake a bit, but I’m excited to hear the full cai. I can’t really get power upgrades because I’m 16 so yeah haha
Yessir the full sound is 👌🏽 A1 sauce lol! That’s pretty cool to find the stage 1 intake kit on the car before you got it. Yeah def take your time with the car and each mod you add on, you’ll grow and learn with the car as one that way

that big metal bracket behind the assembly, do you have to put it back??
I honestly have no clue to what that connects too but I do know that one bolt goes to the top of it so it has to stabilize something unless it’s just there to support the center console

how"s the shifter while backing up?
It’s actually not that bad, when I initially installed it, the shifts were super tight and stiff but now it has broken in nicely and I’ve gotten use to it from driving it for about a week 👍🏽

Ayeee thanks fam! Yeah we def should film sometimes, we got a couple of 10th Gen RUclipsr around us in the north, one day we should all meet up halfway or so, that’d be dope. I don’t know much about the hybrid racing shifter but I’ve seen some videos on it and it does look like a well built shifter too like acuity’s, it’s also about $100 cheaper too 👀. I gotta tell you though from personal experience with acuity’s shifter, it’s GREAT, totally changes how the car feels shifting wise, it’s crazy good, it’s like the closest thing to a sequential shifter and that’s with all the settings in the middle/ at 3 lol
@@timothysarin Hell yeah I would totally be down. And haha yes that $100 less price tag is what got my attention but then again I haven’t heard a single complaint from acuity which makes me lean towards it more. Definitely going to look more into it.

Does it make a noise when you move it left to right a little in neutral?
Nope, mine doesn’t make a noise when I move it left to right in neutral. What kind of noise is it though? I’m kinda curious now lol
Its like when you barely move it to the left you get this small click from the centering spring really hard to explain haha

@@vuthymao2344 so I just tried it and I can hear a small “clicking” noise but I think it’s just the spring making that noise but it’s soooo small and subtle, the noise might vary for me though bc I have a full 3in exhaust system from the turbo back and the 27 rear motor mount lol, but when I do move it left and right in neutral the sound is sometimes there and sometimes not and it’s very light. Hope that helps!
