Even thou it's way above MSRP in my country, the 4070Ti super is my first upgrade since the 1080 8gb... I'm super excited for it to get here! ;D Thanks for the videos.
I do AI upscaling of old DVD and VHS videos as a side hustle. Because the memory bus on our cards is so freaking fast and AI is so memory size and BW heavy and NVIDIA borked the bus width, Our cards can keep up with a 4080 same render times.
The 4080 Super is the only card worth upgrading to from a 3080. Assuming you’re willing to shell out ~$1000. Anything less than that, don’t even bother unless you must absolutely have RT and FG.
@@alooy3331 Not a flex, he's making a point about how none of that information is practically useful for him as someone who doesn't currently have to worry about performance at all.
That's probably the best card of the 3000 series. 12gb should be fine for quite awhile because of the huge bus width of the 3080. 10gb isn't quite enough, and the Ti was overpriced
@@beemrmem3agreed. Been using the original 3080 and the vram is frequently tapped out to its limit. It was very tempting going for a 40 series but I’m glad I waited for the next gen
Thank you again, Daniel. Everyone seems to neglect the 12GB 3080 (and even the 3080 Ti) and not talk about either in benchmark comparison/graphs, except for you. Great job, keep it up.
Yeah if it launched alongside the 3080 it'd be the mich better buy than the regular 3080 for the extra cache, mem bandwidth and vram. 3080ti is alright (3090 performance with half the vram) but ur so close to 3090 price atp that the missing vram really is a big issue. The 3080 12gb is within 5% performance of the 3080ti so I don't see why you wouldn't just save the $400
I'm still using a 3080 12gb, got it on a flash sale for $720 while cards were hard to find. I try not to upgrade till I can get double performance for about the same price.
@@auntiepha8343 I also upgraded from a 2070 Super, sold it for $420 and bought a 3080 in October 2020 for $700. After over 3 years it's still going strong.

@@lifemocker85 Why y'all say that? That's insane. 12 GB is not an issue. Do you have any clue what computer science is or what any of the other numbers on the spec sheets mean??? Not only does the PS5 and XSX have unified RAM for cpu & GPU at like 13 GB total - look at the new DF bid of the 4070 vs a PS5 , it's like 2x the perf. Devs will be making games for the ps5 level hardware for a while and a 4070 is like 2 x that. Get real.
I have an evga 3080 ftw3 12gb and so far seeing no need to upgrade. On the other hand I don't do much AAA gaming focusing mainly on first person shooters of various kinds and strategy games where gpu power isn't really all that important. But since I like my 4k big screen I needed a 3080 to run those at acceptable fps.
Paid extra for “Two years of insurance”. Lmao. That’s the most American thing I’ve ever heard. In Australia consumer guarantees are separate from manufacturer warranties, so if it broke in under 2 years they’d have to repair or refund it anyway as it’s considered a major problem.
Oof.. I was lucky enough to get a 3090 at msrp price than God. During launch. It was the only thing I could find. Wanted a 3080 Glad I got the more ram because VR really loves ram. Like up to 20gb. Not buying another card for another 10 years ha
Thats the change i made 7 or 8 month ago. The 3080 was good but my 4070ti Asus TUF with silent bios is masterclass. Fans spin at 1000-1200 rpm are ultra silent. 50-150 watt less Power and 30-75% more fps.
Wait you were able to get an upgrade as a warranty claim??!! That's kinda awesome, can you give some more details about it? Like what was the issue and which brand was it
@elderman64 Sorry I should clarify it was a Store Warranty and not a manufacturers warranty, so Microcenter was willing to swap me to an equivalent value upgrade. It was the ASUS TUF 4070ti super Since I spent around $800 for the evga FTW3 3080 12gb they were willing to install an equivalent value card. The issue was that a fan bearing on the EVGA fully failed.
I'm puzzled why anyone with a 3080 or above is even thinking of upgrading to the 4070. I'm looking to upgrade my 2070 so for me a 4070 (Super/TI) will be a massive uplift as it was when I went from a 970 to a 2070. In my opinion, missing a generation is always going to be the most cost effective way forward taking into account price and graphic boost.
Yeah not sure if people have more money to hand over to leather jacket guy. I’m still on a 3060 and won’t be replacing it any time soon unless a 4080/7900xtx fell to $800 or lower

Hey Daniel! Viewers like myself on the Moore's Law Is Dead (Channel), and yours have been wanting to see you as a guest on his Broken Silicon Podcast. MLID has already responded to one of the requests to see you on there, and he's okay with it as long as if we can see to get you on there, lol. I have watched you ever since your first Unreal Engine 5 coverage, months before you got GPU samples, and more recently started watching MLID's Broken Silicon Podcast, I would absolutely love to see you on there if you have the time to do so! Love your videos, and I hope you aren't overworking yourself with all of these benchmarks, especially with the 4000 Super series this month!
mlid is about as good as gamermeld hahaha. he repeats stuff that red gaming tech and others already talk about. he never has any new hot info that hasnt been spoken by someone else.
@@iequalsnoob To each their own, but hard disagree. MLID was one of the first people to leak 4000 SUPER series information even woth the bold claik of a possible $1000 4080 Super, back in November, which actually made me wait. I'm not saying he's perfect and 100% accurate, a big disappointment being RDNA 3, I still take the info with caution, but it does help provide insight of what could be to come. I've seen gamer meld, but feel like it's just clickbaity "news" recaps nowadays. I and many others find MLID to be much more accurate than Red Gaming Tech. Also, ths Broken Silicon Podcast isn't just about leaks, it's only a single topic or 2 (from what I've seen recently) about future hardware. Otherwise it's thoughts and valuable insights on current hardware, what went right/wrong, how things could be better, among ither stuff depending on the guest, which makes it more interesting.
I have had some rather surprising results while testing out these two GPUs in video editing I have a workstation configured with a Ryzen 9 5900x, 98GB of RAM, and an MSI Gaming Trio RTX 3080 with 12GB VRAM. I recently started working with 8k 10bit 360 footage that requires significant noise reduction and color grading. Since NR is a GPU-accelerated effect I decided to try and upgrade the GPU to see if I could reduce the processing times. Currently, with the built-in NR algorithms or with NeatVideo I get an average of 1fps processing speed while rendering the videos. I decided to purchase a Gigabyte RTX 4070TI Super with 16GB of VRAM. NOW THE SURPRISE: I is actually worst than the RTX 3080.... After several rounds of testing and multiple driver installs and re-installs, the RTX3080 takes 1h24m to process/render 5min of footage to h.265 while the RTX4070TISuper takes 1h30m... I tried to run Pugetbench benchmarking but it fails with both cards... Anyone has had a similar experience??
I clicked without paying much attention at first. Out of the corner of my eye I was convinced you were playing the accordion. Chuckled. Had to write it.
Guys i am planning in buying 7900 xtx since my 3080 died, don't want Nvidia anymore, however should i buy it next week, or should i wait for 4080 super launch and then check 7900 xtx if it drops in price ? Waiting or picking right away?
I bought a red devil 6950xt at the start of last year, great card,i did have a 4080 fe in my basket deciding between the both but i'd wait and see the comparisons 1st if the msrp of the 4080 super at 999 is legit
Would love to see a 3080 12GB vs 4070 Super comparison. Debating between saving some dough with a used 3080 or buying a new 4070 Super for a second gaming PC
realistically a 3080 is fine. hell, some people are still hanging with a 2080 or 3070ti. the 3080 was THE card everyone wanted with the 30 generation. unless youre really pushing your graphics settings, then you should be good.
I have a 3090, and the only way for me to get a REAL improvement would be to spend over 1000 USD. I am happy to wait until at least 5xxx series and see where 5070Ti performance is, and then either purcharse or wait for the next one.
I have a 3080 ti (same performance as 3090) and have to agree, the only GPU from 40s series worth getting is the 4090, heres hoping the 50s series offers more value.
At least we can flex about our 24gb vram. Seriously I only use my 3090 on a 1440p 165hz monitor. I undervolted the thing like all 3090 users do. The only time I consider upgrading to 4090 or next 5000series is for Skyrim VR and MSFS VR. Since GTA6 is releasing on consoles first. I'll just get a cheap Xbox series X when the time comes.
@@adink6486 Yeah, I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and this rocks it. I just finished playing Callisto Protocol: everything on Ultra and it ran 100 to 144 constantly. Tried Ray Tracing but did not like how unstable it was - 40 to 60 in certain parts - so I removed it. I think the next purchase needs to be able to have Ray tracing above 60 fps (more if possible) on my resolution, and see from there what to do.
have a beautiful day its very interesting to see how the improvements are i have a rtx 3070 ti i dont plan to replace it until 6070 and i want to see each generation how much better it got so when the time comes i will have an idea how much worth is the 6000 series
To summarise, if you can afford a replacment GPU which increses the peformance of your current rig by 100% in the games you play, with the config you prefer - DLSSX, RTX on/off, FG on/off etc, than you should be pretty satisfied. Anything greater is a bonus, anything less, probably a dissppointment.
Thank You! Awesome video as always! 3080 12GB owner here(mostly gamer) and the only upgrade I would consider is a 4090. Just not at the current $2k+ price. $1200 or less? Sign me up!
Thanks to you we both got our Gigabyte 3080 12gb for an unheard of $825 in May 2021. Always love that we have same card when you do comparisons with it
Some of these games look so bland and jaded. Starfield, lords of the fallen, BG3, if you're gonna look like a game from 2015, at least run like one. I fail to understand what the GPU and CPU is even calculating at this point?
In 2024 4070 Ti Super is even less impressive upgrade over previous generation than 4070 Ti was in 2023. I really hope 5070 Ti will be more in line with 4090, rather than 4080. P. S. Thanks a lot for another interesting comparison, Daniel.
Looking that 5000 series is a year away, at earliest Q1 2025, the 4070Ti Super is looking strong. 4070 TIS is ca on avg 20% faster than 4070 Super at 4K and about 15% on avg on 1440p, having 16GB VRAM, textures and geometry only cost VRAM capacity for big benefit in visual quality. Which doesn’t gimp the card in the future games for only 200$ more. While it´s on avg 20% slower in 4K vs 4080 and 15% on 1440p for another 200$. Obviously this card is not people upgrading from 4000 or 3000 series, but for people who are coming from 2000 series or older. By the time of 5000 series a lot of stuff can happen, another type of boom, making cards unaffordable, no one needing a card today will be waiting until 2025.
@@KryssN1 Current gen consoles are already struggling. We won't get anything much more impressive in terms of visuals until next gen consoles release in 2027 (?). By that time it would not matter whether your card has 12GB or even 20GB. They will all be on par with new budget GPUs, aimed for 1080p gaming, at best. Even today the most impressive UE5 games use less than 10GB of VRAM, but perform pretty poorly already, barely achieving 60 fps at 1440p/Ultra on this class of GPUs. By the time UE5 games need more than 12GB, even 4080 will be struggling to provide decent gaming experience at 1440p. Those who want to get a relatively decent Hi-End card, should wait for 4080 Super. It will be ~25% faster and 25% more expensive than Ti Super. But, at least, it will probably be fast enough to make use of 16GB in some specific scenarios and provide decent 4K experience.
Bought a 4090 at launch and with every new release I continue to be very happy with it. I'm aware it was a waste of money but I had it to burn and I'll be running it in my PC for a long time.
This video was exactly what I was curious about. I have a 3080 12gb. Also bought during the cryptopocalypse. My intuition was to probably wait for the 50 series to upgrade and this video confirms it. Thanks for that!
I never understand people that wait and wait and wait. Same with iPhones. EVENTUALLY you will have to fork out a large sum of money. Why not sell your 3080 and spend 200 on this then when the 50 series comes out do the same thing. That way you are only ever putting in a small amount of cash for the newer gpu. Waiting 2/34 generations means you may as well just throw the old gpu in the bin.
@@reecep4016 theres always someone who buys your old gpu. Upgrading every gen you just lose more money when you constantly have to throw few hundred away
buying a 3080 at that price while a 4070 ti super is out is dumb, i own a 3080 and i dont see me having to switch it for yrs to come. at least not at 1440p
I have a 3080 10gig card and my next upgrade will happen when I get 3080 x2 perf for under $350 around at RTX 7xxx-8xxx series ~2028. I think I'll be good with the 3080 for this whole PS5 era for an upscaled 1080p@60fps experience.
Im in the same boat , not sure if the 4080S is really worth the extra 300 to 400 looks like thats dlss3 is the silver lining with the new cards@@JesseA29
Looking forward to getting a 4070 Ti Super next week to replace my 1060 6gb. Expensive yes, but been holding off already and cant wait until 5000 series releases. And believe nvidia is best choice for me as do a lot of VR and drivers more solid for that
Exactly the comparison I wanted to see, since I'm on the fence if I should replace my 3080 10gb with a 4070 Ti Super, since I am increasingly running into the memory issue. Normally I would go for a 4080 Super, but since I do need a 2-slot card and Inno3d were stupid and increased the size of the 4080 compared to the 3080 by 40%, the best I can get without replacing pretty much everything is one of the three 4070 Ti Super models by Inno3d. Right now I can still sell the 3080 for a decent price, so I could get the 4070 Ti Super for half the price and then replace my NUC in 2-3 years with the next GPU generation or the one after that and go back up to a 5080 / 6080 or something AMD if they finally manage not to mess things up unnecessarily.
@@auntiepha8343 It's surprisingly strong, yes, but the 10GB actually start to hurt noticeably. And if I sell the 3080 now, I would actually get a lot more than in 2-3 years.
@@_user.sR_ 50xx series would normally release at the end of this year, but this seems to have been delayed to 2025 for consumer cards. I don't believe that they will release a new generation later than that because that would be 3.5-4 years later.
Would have preferred the original 3080 FE 10GB in this comparison. Far more people own this card, it would have been more useful, obviously to 3080FE users, but also 3070 / 2080Ti users. 3080 12GB was not well adopted, and most users have no idea where it slots in performance wise. 🤨
Daniel how do you feel about 4K now vs when you made your video 3 yrs ago? Currently have a 3090 and planning on getting one of the 4k 240 hz oleds and definitely getting a 5080/90
I am in the same boat, need to wait for all those monitors to release before choosing, then upgrade my 3080ti to a 5080 or 5090, depending on the value of those GPUs
4K is now viable resolution, but you will be upgrading more often than you would need to with 1440p. I think this and next generation, is peak 1440p performance, it will be the affordable resolution from now on, while for 4K you will have to upgrade every 2nd generation. 4K is a lot more power hungry resolution, 2x pixels of 1440p. Also 4K is only good option, if you want bigger size screen for immersion, in my opinion 32´´is not large enough for 4K. It just better to go either for 42-48´´ 4K TV (for immersion) or a 27 1440p monitor for monitor. For this reason I got LG 42C2, it can do both 4K, as well as Ultrawide 1600p, if in certain games I would need more performance. The 42 size on desk is really immersive, benefiting from 4K for having same PPI as 27 1440p, which is much sharper than 1080p on 24. That way I can buy a card like 4070Ti Super, instead of 4090 and in Cyberpunk I can just instead use it with Pathtracing at 90FPS. I actually had 4090, but sold it before Super series, due to big increase in price for it.
@@KryssN1my desk is only about 2 feet deep so 32 is pushing it. Ive been immersed in Gameboy and Nintendo DS screens so i wont have much trouble being immersed in a 32" screen. I see what you mean tho
I have a 4070 Ti Super and find that I can achieve playable 4K resolution in competitive Fortnite with DLSS, maintaining around 120 fps. I'm considering upgrading my GPU, particularly depending on the ray tracing capabilities of the games I play. While I'm satisfied with performance without ray tracing, for games that support it, I might need to upgrade to a GPU like the RTX 5000 series.
What i have found from watching this channel is that people are more interested in numbers than enjoying games. I get the argument that if a game looks better and run more smoothly that creates more enjoyment but does it really or are we back to just the numbers thing again haha.
Wyym? His whole channel is dedicated to GPU news, reviewing them and giving out objective data and results. If you want games reviews and opinions look on RUclips, there's aplenty elsewhere.
I have been using dlss balance mode on 1440p with path tracing and ray reconstruction as well as ultra setting and have been getting 55+ fps. 7950x3d, 32gb ram ddr5 6000 cl32, 3080 12gb. And picture looks much better on balance.
Great work as always, Daniel! I currently own a 1080ti which I feel it's close to being retired, so I've been considering of going to a 4070ti Super or 4080 (even though I have a 750w PSU which I'm not sure if it's powerful enough for the latter). So this comparison did put some perspective on how its not entirely a big uplift from the last gen cards but thinking about 2-3 generations ago, it could be viable to upgrade, even if the 40-series was a bit lacking in terms of pricing. (Mind you, I'm from Australia, so we pay more for our GPUs, so basing the cards solely on the US pricing isn't gonna help much)
Teah, really the $ normalization is only valid for US buyers, thats why i don't really care either, i'm only looking at numbers, and more importantly, the gaming experience based on those numbers.
Im in the exact same position(1080ti upgrade in Australia) and tbh everything I've seen so far is making me lean toward getting a XTX. I don't really care about Ray tracing and I'm looking more from a value point as our prices down under are complete bs. Previous gfx cards have been - 4780x2, 680, 1080ti.
750w PSU is perfectly fine for a 4080. You can get away with a good quality 650w PSU if needed. You can always reduce maximum GPU power to 90% and only lose about 1% performance if you’re worried about it.
Literally everyone forgot about something very important here. Are these games actually good? Do they have great storylines and players that wanted it? Who wanted those game to be released? Likely to be less than a 70k. Don't waste your money if your a gamer. **70 is the farthest you could go. Upper ones are useless for gamers. Mostly Animators.
To be honest if you have a 3080 you better UV it for better perf/temp-watt usage (mine is at 1920mhz for 886mv and i got 270w at peak usage) and wait for the next gen
Maybe a random question but - if I would like to cap my frame rate in a title to 45fps (assuming a title at relevant settings does not drop below this) in a VRR capable 120hz screen and having vsync off, should I still be expecting tearing of any kind or not? Or this is title dependent?
Just picked up a "GPU out of a new pre-built" 6950 xt for $400. I run 2880p on my 2160p monitor at 150fps frame capped so I think I'll be good for a while.😂
@@MrDs7777 Based on my comment.. what makes you think I care about FSR? But since you mention it.. my racing games are the best use case for FSR. Cyberpunk does not have the best implementation.. what GPU are you using?

22:46 I generally use my own metric for upgrading is 25/25 which is 25% uplift at 25% more cost. What you are saying is forget inflation and go for dollar for dollar 50% uplift.
A few months ago I've bought used 3080 for cheaper, than new 4060 Ti. Uplift from 3060ti was pretty decent. I'm going to stay with it... well, until any GPU with actual good perf/price happens, so probably not so fast. Or if not, then maybe for some used 40x0, after 50x0 launch.
I agree with you Daniel, if you don't get AT LEAST 50% more performance DO NOT upgrade, it's not worth spending several hundreds of $/€/£ ! The whole RTX 40 lineup is very disappointing imo, the only exception being 3090 => 4090 with about 60-80% more performance for just $100 more, but all the rest is total crap when comparing Performance/Price at MSRP.
Has anyone else noticed that with frame generation in Cyberpunk, you lose about 10-20fps when you simply change any graphics settings while in game? The only way to get the frame rate back is to restart the game.
Daniel, what could be really interesting comparison is testing the rtx 3080 12gb to the 4070 ti Super, but install AMD FSR3 mod so the 3080 12 gb can keep up when frame gen is turned on for supporting games!! I have the 3080 12gb and the mod is a game changer!!!!
xx70 class card for the price of an xx80 class card. We definitely need better competition. Really hoping Intel's 2nd gen GPUs manage to compete better.
I'd personally say the 400mm 256 bit 4070TI super's direct predecessor is the 400mm 256 bit 3070. I look at the 600mm 384 bit 3080 and see just a cut down 90 class card, where as i see the 400mm 256 bit 4080, and see the great grandson of the ~400mm 256 bit GTX 970, 2070, and 3070 it's totally valid to compare the 3080 and the 4070TI Super, or the 4050 mobile, heck its totally valid to compare the 4070TI Super and the GTX 295, but the 3080, and 4070TI Super are not in the same manufacturing class, one die is 400mm with a 256 bit bus, the other is a 600mm die with a 384 bit bus And if i didnt make it clear, the hardware class and age of the card should not have any bearing on the validity of comparrisons. Just look at the RTX 3060, and RTX 4070TI(non super) just because they're both in the same manufacture class of ~300mm 192bit bus, the 4070TI is basically 2.5 nodes newer, so the performance is more like a 3080 through 3090TI, sure sometimes the narrow bus of the 4070TI can signicicantly hold it back, but we probably wont see games where this matters for another 2-4 years, and by then, most people would have replaced their lower mid-range 4070TI with a 5070, or whichever fits within that lower mid-range price bracket. Its normally the low end buyers going for cards like the 4070, or 4070 super that tend to keep their cards for many many years, and then a few of the people that go for 4090s because they want to at least have a mid to low end performance for the next 6 years.
So, one third more powerful, one third more VRAM, 80% the power consumption, more features.... same price. That looks like a good product to me, not amazing, but good
At the end of 2022, I was building my gaming PC with a planned setup of the 12700K and a 3070. Due to the chip shortage and pandemic-related price hikes, I opted for just the 12700K to use for basic purposes for two years. Recently, I was able to upgrade to a 4070 Ti Super for the same price as a 3070 during that period, which was quite a steal considering the increased prices. The 4070 Ti Super's 16GB VRAM is a huge upgrade over the 3070's 8GB, and its performance is comparable to the elusive 3090 Ti, which used to be out of my reach. I'm thoroughly impressed with the value and performance of the 4070 Ti Super; it's definitely not overpriced and has been a great addition to my setup!
First of all, thank you for the excellent comparison video and your work 👌 however, you should keep in mind that there are other criteria that you dont address. +4GB RAM, lower watt consumption = lower costs = lower temps = less noise. These criteria could possibly make a switch interesting for me. In Germany Air Condition is not common 😅
I have the RTX 3080 10GB and i do not have even the little idea to upgrade to RTX 40 series, not even 4090. I am waiting for RTX 50 series. I can live with 1440p gaming just fine with 3080.
I bought the 3080 on the 4k promise. It basically plays whatever I wanna play at 4k output. The only game that gave me pause was Alan Wake 2 and only because it looks so good with path tracing. I can definitely wait a year or two
I'm in the same boat. Pretty sure I'll upgrade to the 5070ti/5080 depending on the prices when they come out. Also curious if I have to upgrade the rest of my PC with my 5800x and DDR4 RAM still.
@@mechanicalmonk2020 at 4K hardly the RTX 4090 can push a decent FPS, but not in all game, without DLSS tricks. Basically, RTX 4090 is not a 4K native res card, in today games, mostly run under 60 FPS in Unreal Engine 5 games. So paying that much for a RTX 4090 is a total bad move for the upcoming games. The 4080 is supposed to be the upgrade, but yea like most higher end Ampere owners the 40 series is a write off.
I do AI upscaling of old DVD and VHS videos as a side hustle. Because the memory bus on our cards is so freaking fast and AI is so memory size and BW heavy and NVIDIA borked the bus width, Our cards can keep up with a 4080 same render times.

That's probably the best card of the 3000 series. 12gb should be fine for quite awhile because of the huge bus width of the 3080. 10gb isn't quite enough, and the Ti was overpriced

Yeah if it launched alongside the 3080 it'd be the mich better buy than the regular 3080 for the extra cache, mem bandwidth and vram. 3080ti is alright (3090 performance with half the vram) but ur so close to 3090 price atp that the missing vram really is a big issue. I have had some rather surprising results while testing out these two GPUs in video editing
I have a workstation configured with a Ryzen 9 5900x, 98GB of RAM, and an MSI Gaming Trio RTX 3080 with 12GB VRAM.

@@hinchlikescake7592 It was just a genuine observation as i find Psychology interesting. No need to be defensive as i enjoy his videos too.
numbers always matter when big money is involved.
Great video Daniel! Can you do 3070ti vs 4070ti super ?
I have been using dlss balance mode on 1440p with path tracing and ray reconstruction as well as ultra setting and have been getting 55+ fps. 7950x3d, 32gb ram ddr5 6000 cl32, 3080 12gb. And picture looks much better on balance.
my strix 3080 12gb i got for 699 back in September 2022 still does everything and more i need it to for my games but thanks for this video
I LOVE MY 3080 ASUS STRIX
I want to purchase a new gpu & upgrading from 1650 Super so should i choose 4070 ti super or 3080 or rx 7900xt? Please help me
Thanks in advance
Literally everyone forgot about something very important here. Are these games actually good? Do they have great storylines and players that wanted it? Who wanted those game to be released? Likely to be less than a 70k. Don't waste your money if your a gamer.
**70 is the farthest you could go. Upper ones are useless for gamers. Mostly Animators.
To be honest if you have a 3080 you better UV it for better perf/temp-watt usage (mine is at 1920mhz for 886mv and i got 270w at peak usage) and wait for the next gen
Yep, if you’re on a 3080 or 3090 tier card and you’re not undervolting, you’re doing it wrong.
Undervolted 68xt is 200w gpu
Maybe a random question but - if I would like to cap my frame rate in a title to 45fps (assuming a title at relevant settings does not drop below this) in a VRR capable 120hz screen and having vsync off, should I still be expecting tearing of any kind or not? Or this is title dependent?
no tearing
I look like I have both of these cards. I will say this, 4070 is not exactly much faster, but VERY colder. Hello everyone from Russia.
Does anyone know how he gets more than 1 FPS statistic to show? I am using Afterburner and RivaTuner and can only get 1 FPS counter to show at a time.
Figured it out 5 seconds after commenting, but you go into RivaTuner settings and Enable Benchmarking mode. Cheers
U should test it vs an 6800xt/6900xt/6950xt as well as they have been available for 500$/€ for a while until just recently.
Just picked up a "GPU out of a new pre-built" 6950 xt for $400. I run 2880p on my 2160p monitor at 150fps frame capped so I think I'll be good for a while.😂
No. AMD is junk and he shouldn’t waste his time on that.

I have a ? i am going to upgrade my 3080 m i am having a hard time choosing between the Radeon 7900xtx and the 4070 ti super which one for god sake i hate the pricing there both unrealisttic but im giving my 3080 hybrid to my son so he can expericace 1440p and 4k which my 3080 plays 4k DSR with no issues
The standard 4070 Ti is faster than the 3080 Ti, so of course the 4070 Ti Super beats the 3080 12gb handily.
Man, your content is simply the best🙏
Will this conclusion stay the same with a 3080 10G?
10gb is even more stupid than 12 which is stupid

Daniel, what could be really interesting comparison is testing the rtx 3080 12gb to the 4070 ti Super, but install AMD FSR3 mod so the 3080 12 gb can keep up when frame gen is turned on for supporting games!!
I have the 3080 12gb and the mod is a game changer!!!!
He wont do that bc he said he prefers not to do any modding and meddling with game files
xx70 class card for the price of an xx80 class card. We definitely need better competition. Really hoping Intel's 2nd gen GPUs manage to compete better.
Daniel can you give us a peak of your GPU collection?
Will the 4070 ti super be a good 1080p card? Im planning to pair it with a 5800x
Its good for 2k and 4k aswell
I'd personally say the 400mm 256 bit 4070TI super's direct predecessor is the 400mm 256 bit 3070.
I look at the 600mm 384 bit 3080 and see just a cut down 90 class card, where as i see the 400mm 256 bit 4080, and see the great grandson of the ~400mm 256 bit GTX 970, 2070, and 3070
it's totally valid to compare the 3080 and the 4070TI Super, or the 4050 mobile, heck its totally valid to compare the 4070TI Super and the GTX 295, but the 3080, and 4070TI Super are not in the same manufacturing class, one die is 400mm with a 256 bit bus, the other is a 600mm die with a 384 bit bus
And if i didnt make it clear, the hardware class and age of the card should not have any bearing on the validity of comparrisons.
So, one third more powerful, one third more VRAM, 80% the power consumption, more features.... same price.
That looks like a good product to me, not amazing, but good
Overpriced
terrible value.
So if you have that mindset, you will have to upgrade every generation of gpus right??!? Right?? 😮.
@@YashPatel97335No, not really but the 30 Generation was really power hungry
for example undervolted 68xt is 200w gpu
so with 3080TI it'll be around 20%?
And you think 3080 is 4K card, not even close. I got the 3080 for 1440p, that is the res the card is good at.
If 3080 and 3090 are rhe same just double the ram per bus is that mean that i could roughly undervolt 3080 half without losing much performance?
So if I have Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 AORUS MASTER 12GB it's not worth for me to upgrade.. so I will wait for 5xxx series.
Thx a lot very professionnal analysis
I am upgrading my 3080 10GB for a 4070Ti Super. Because the superior RT, DLSS 3.0 and the 6GB Vram advantage. Not to mention how more efficient it is. Wondering why wasn't mentioned in this video. 4070Ti Super 285W TDP vs 3080 350W TDP.
I don't think it's worth upgrading when you already have 3080, but I respect your choice. I'm also planning to upgrade to the RTX 4070 TI Super.
the 380 10GB consumes 320W
@@wwk279 i'm considering it cause i still don't see 4080 less than 1.4k locally. selling 3080ti should make 4070TI super reasonable priced cause so far its around 1.1k

@@jesusbarrera6916 I know. I said 350W because the 12GG is the one used in this video. 4070ti super still more efficient in both cases.
