It would be more interesting to play the full range of the flute for comparisons sake rather than in the mid range where even a cheap flute will sound at least OK. Nice sound none the less.
I have bought a Guo New Voice closed hole and am a complete novice. I have a fingering chart. The keys at the back where your left thumb goes look different to a normal flute. I know one is used for a B and the other for a Bb but what do I press for other notes? Do I press them down together because it doesn't seem to make a difference which one I press? Nobody seems to have brought this issue up and the fingering chart I have doesn't distinguish which note I press. TIA.
Hi Tracey! If you have not had any lessons on how to play a concert C flute I would definitely recommend finding a teacher to help get you going. I did find this fingering chart to help you in the meantime. www.dummies.com/article/academics-the-arts/music/instruments/flute/flute-for-dummies-cheat-sheet-208477/ All concert C flutes are played with the same fingerings, no matter who the flutemaker, or type of material. Hope this helps! If you want to email me at sherry@sherryfinzer.com I can try to help you find a teacher near you!
Hi Hedge. Good question! I sure hope you got your answer by now, but for other beginners reading… its the regular B part. The Bb part of it is really just an alternate to help you get thru fast passages.
Super! Very beautiful!
Thank you very much!

I will take that into consideration the next time I make a video - thank you for your feedback.

@@SherryFinzerthanks but I’m in a remote part of the UK and there aren’t any teachers near me so I am relying on online lessons.
