I think that any agent getting cover immediately kinda defeats the point of the sneaky agents. Like Chavez is a powerhouse but his weakness is that if he gets third partied he has no disengage. Thats his tradeoff. Larcin or Xiu are less powerful in combat but are more resistant to vultures.
Also as it is you basically CAN instantly get your cover back after killing an agent, at the cost of having Mimic in a gadget slot.
I got into for honor around when highlander came out. Was disappointed with the direction they took with 4v4s after spending hundreds of hours 1v1ing as highlander. The fighting game aspect of it was so fun when the balancing was there

i think maybe when u pick up the spy pack u regain cover, if u get it upon kill guards become kind of useless in my opinion
I agree, I killed someone last night with 3 health left, next second I got shot by a guard and was killed 😂 so basically got punished for playing aggressive and taking a fight but if I'd been rewarded for the kill with insta-cover I would have been fine
For the idea, im for it but maybe it should be during a specific phase or maybe the entire match.
The only problem is if you grab the suitcase early and there is...let's say 3 other people still alive. You often have to orchestrate a situation to get them to fight each other. Easier with some charecters then others.
The character tru3 is using reminds me of that one black dude from blark and son

i think insta cover on a kill sounds pretty good for solo, and for teams it wont change much (one person gets cover from getting a kill, not the whole group. i would assume it works like that) so it wouldnt effect the part of teams where i love the chaotic team fights.
would make for a good perk to choose from
The kiss Red uses is rather interesting in my opinion. It automatically regains her cover if it was broken, and does the same for any agents hit. Everyone hit (including NPCs I do believe) is given the charmed status for a short duration. While they have it, they are slowed and cannot use their expertise, similar to what Hans does. Charmed ends immediately if their cover is broken, but if the agent breaks their own cover while charmed, they become heartbroken. While heartbroken, they cannot use their expertise and are vulnerable, making them take more damage.
Basically, it forces a choice on the opponent. If they choose to break their own cover by continuing to fight, they'll take more damage and can't use their ability. But if they choose to wait, either for someone else to break their cover or for the status to end, it will give Red time to set up or run away. Keep in mind though, that a smart Red usually won't shoot you after kissing unless they're done setting up or you broke your own cover, so you usually have time to do some setting up of your own
The Red that kissed you, then immediately shot you, probably doesn't understand how her ability works, since that basically nullified it
Red breaking her own kiss is actually not a bad idea... if the opponent doesn't break their own cover and take Heartbroken, it gives Red leave to carefully line up a shot and initiate a new fight. If the also initiated in the first place, functionally it lets her get the first shot in twice. Of course, this is far more effective on spike-DPS weapons like her W2 and W3, it's considerably less useful on her W1... especially against a Chavez that successfully initiated against you and who will almost certainly kill you unless you use the moment of confusion to GTFO.
I don't like Red's kiss since I don't like giving my opponent any autonomy over what happens. However Red breaking the kiss can actually be quite good in my experience. I've experienced several fights where my opponent ceases attacking after being charmed and then gets caught flat footed after I resume my attack after only a very short delay. I think part latency and rusher's advantage, and part players opting to reload during the charm effect since they don't expect red to continue attacking. So there is some mindgame value for Red to break her own charm. Still, the opponent gets a choice. They don't need to reload when you charm them. I don't like the opponent having any kind of choice in the matter, so I prefer her self heal skill.
I disagree with the cover idea, mainly because I lose 1 v 1s and NEED to vulture to stand a chance.
Still can vulture but have to actually think to find the person instead of just basically a free kill
Like the other comment says, insta cover doesn't prevent vulture plays, nor does it discourage it. That paired with a more fine tuned heat system will make vulture plays have a risk associated with it, and gives the winning spy a defense against it. Nothing is stopping a player from shooting everyone in the area where a fight just happened, but they forfeit the element of surprise and risk losing the fight since they're getting more Heat on themselves for shooting innocents. In a game where stealth matters, exposing yourself in any situation should have risks, "vulturing" included.
