I hate all idolization.
These guys always put on a 2.5 hr show. Eddie will generally say something like "this ones for the faithful" and they'll Jam a B-side. I go apeshit . Love love love PJ. Greatest band EVer
"Don't Gimme No Lip" and "I Stopped Making A Difference" are Stone's originals and it is so much more meaningful to hear him sing them to his own vocal style.Some lovely melodies about Eddie's daughters, Neil Young harmonic influences in a few songs. "In the moonlight"has it all- guitar riff heaven,vocal fusion beauty and sensitivity! "Force of Nature" is a poetic cornucopia of musical notes and dedication to alpha females. Eddie's lovely celestial dream about Christmas time of long ago when he was a little boy "Please Let Me Sleep Its Christmas " is very touching. "Around The Bend" is original and has a tropical feel."Strangest Tribe" is the prophetic vision of the angelic realm.Thank you for this rare treat.

Wow...I’ve seen Pearl Jam live 5 times and they played 7 of these songs during those shows. I guess I was just lucky. I’d love to hear Dirty Frank live though!

YES! I had requested it for several tours, and then I asked them to play it in Prague in 2018 - and they did! I have that version up on my channel if you wanna watch it. They started it off with a The Beatles Help intro.

I've only been to 8 shows unfortunately, but I was lucky enough to see them play it in Raleigh, North Carolina '03.

I was behind 5 people in front of the stage a clear view of the band and I felt so blessed I couldn't book to see them again in case it wasn't as good as that experience sounds silly but it was such a highlight bof my life I had waited 25 years to see them ❤️

Ed played Dead Man at my first ever gig. Sydney (night 1) 1998. I also experienced Don't Gimme No Lip in Adelaide (night 1) in 2006. Also Of The Girl in Brisbane (night 2) in 2003.

I was in Oslo (2014 I think) when they played "Strangest tribe" for the first time ever. The guy next to me was a hardcore Ten club member, he was following the whole European tour (no idea how he could finance that), he asked me which band they were covering... I knew the song through the "lost dogs" album so I explained to him that it was a PJ song. Long story short, best live concert of my life.
Interesting that the person was hard-core enough to follow the tour but not enough to buy Lost Dogs. I find it hilarious actually. Rock on man!

As a PJ fan from France, I never quite got to understand the PJ hate of so many people, until recently, when I realized how big PJ Ten was back in the days, and how their massive anthems from their first 3 albums were played on the radio and TV in America, to then reach a state of almost disappearance from major channels and radios... In France PJ was never big, never played on radios, only rock fans know about them, so there's no difference between Ten, Vs, Vitalogy, and any other PJ album in that regard... In the US many say that they "lost it" after Vitalogy, but in my world they never lost it, they just keep exploring :)

I don't understand why Force Of Nature in particular isn't played more. It's a really strong song, and one of my favourites in fact.
It does sound really good live, the album version did not carry that kind of energy....

I was there the first time it was ever played live, LA, CA, 9-30-2009. They explained they only play it when they're close to the sea.

Absolutely one of their most underrated cuts. "I'll eat you...I'll eat you with a little Fava beans and a little bit of Chianti." That reference was used in an alternate studio version (I know of three studio versions of this song), but I've never heard Ed use it on any other occasion. It busts me up every time I hear it.
Yeah, as for 1970borntorun, man I don't know what you're listening to but Eddie Vedder is on key at least 98% of the time. Maybe you've missed it but he's regarded as one of the greatest vocalists of our generation. Considering that, and the fact that he wears in-ear monitors like every large stadium act these days, what's more likely (in fact, highly likely) is that you're just trippin'.
