forums are the best for finding out detailed information about anything. in the forums you will find passionate experts that will happily tell you every minute detail about the subject at hand. excellent resource. information that you cannot find anywhere outside of an expensive hands on seminar that would cost you a load of money. that you can find for free on the internet.

If you have time to see my latest video I overheated(I think) and my tarp stretched over night so ended up with butt to snow, cold but so peaceful. Just moved on from my hennessy to a blackbird xlc and yeti underquilt. Love it so far. Question on the tarp. I typically have my suspension for the hammock above my head (when standing) on the foot end and at about my neck or so on my head end. When tying out my tarp I typically match the foot end on the tree and go lower than the suspension on the head end to keep the tarp closer to the ridgeline of the hammock. It looks as if on this video you have the ends of the tarp connected to the hammock ridgeline and then to the tree from there? Hope this makes sense. Is this to keep it connected on the ridgeline?

Thanks for the camp-related vid, Shug! I was startin' to go through withdraws. Just bit the bullet and picked me up a HG Cuben Fiber tarp just in time for a backpacking trip through Joshua Tree National Forrest (got a nice hang between a couple boulders). But wouldn't ya know it; the weather was so nice, I didn't get to use it. Actually kinda bummed about that. Enjoy your trip to the undisclosed location!

Brilliant, as usual. I laughed when you said about learning from your own mistakes. Everybody says "you don't need toggles for marlin spike hitch, just find little stick". Usually it works but today I've landed twice on my bottox because makeshift toggles were to soft. :-)

Really nice demo on the tensioner part. For some reason I always seem to rush my tarp setup and it gets sloppy. Maybe some pre-tied loops in the lines would help. Thank ya for posting.

Some loops in the line are handy. I still do it on some lines.
