Thanks for all this great information. I headed a little south(?) to the city to put my flame alter, found a nice room with a high resting level. Iron windows and all. Always nice to have a prebuilt area that just has to be "fixed up" a bit. I don't think the altar protects you from dragons (or other such) coming in, it just prevents them from spawning there. Of course, if that's where they spawn, you've removed the closest place for them to get to that area.
head a little south along the ridge you come across as you leave that cave, keep going south past lapis east , past the Vukah camp and keep going until you see a cave entrance on your right. If you come to the bridge and the deep ravine you have gone too far. The cave you will find is actually a tunnel that empties at the bottom of the mountain, It has 3 large iron deposites,sulphur and the biggest deposits of luminous fungi anywhere in the game, just outside the tunnel entrance you also have lapis lauzil depsosits. This tunnel has the largest iron deposit in the entire game. Larger than the one you show.
@@KC_604Michaels directions are horrible is one reason why. The location has its own cave passage marker and its actually directly SOUTHWEST from the cave listed in this video. While the deposits are bigger for sure, the location is less protected than the one in the video. Also the one in the video has copper close outside and sulfur, just not lapis like the other cave. But the cave in the video has 2 chests and other demolishable crates of resources that can respawn so its better on that level. Lastly, the location in the video is close to a red shroud(meaning later update to come) entranced area so may be also a good overall location to get there once we can unlock it.
Very helpful, was looking for an easy place with iron. Found it by looking at the map in your vid and matching up with mine. Are bugs in there though, they can swarm you.

I built one of my bases(level 1) in that cave to farm the chests and iron/copper. Each iron and copper spot gets you about 200 units of ore.

Why not mention that these caves are not accessible unless your alter is level five or six? Otherwise, this cave has deadly shroud inside!
