Small correction: Jack has always been able to cut your leg off. I must have never experienced it since the game adapts and gets easier if you're struggling. Thank you to literally everyone who has watched this video and told me I got this wrong :)
Did you notice that the saw next to the scissor-saw that Jack wields can also be used against him during that fight? Saves you so much ammo. Just make sure you already have the inventory space to immediately pick it up.

The chainsaw is kinda terrible imo. I had way more success just saving up all my ammon and using it in the jack boss fight

When you get the dog head with the chainsaw fight, the circular saw does work against Jack so incredibly fast, that he cant even attack you

Ya, I did that, and if you don't have it, use the normal chainsaw for the fight. It saves ammo for later down the road.
Actually, you needed the scorpion key to get the broken shotgun. That shotgun is really helpful in ammo conservation.
Ye but you dont need the shotgun so its a shortcut
The model shotgun u get from the disection room also works for swapping
U can clear the main house without it but I agree the m21 is useful for the end game
Didnt even need the shotgun for madhouse the shotgun is technically a crutch but for speed runs and no damage runs then yes the shotgun is needed
I mostly don’t use the model shotgun and just leave the weaker shotgun there while I have the m21 with me
If you use the circular saw on the 2nd jack fight (the chainsaw fight) it kills him so fast in madhouse

When you said the cars the only way to kill Jack in the garage I killed him with the Circular Saw I held both triggers at his butt whilst he was trying to rip the car open and he died as soon as he entered it (You could say I tore him a new one 😂

a good wat to start off with a lot of ammo is to only use the saw for the house and up to marguerite's final boss
Back when I played Madhouse, I didn't have the buzz-saw nor the X-ray glasses. I stopped at the Mia-Ship chapter and went back to acquire everything.
I feel like an idiot for not doing that in the first place. X.X
Madhouse bosses in a nutshell:
Mia(1st fight): death in two hits
Mia(2nd fight): I’ve got 57 rounds in my god damn 4 round skull
Jack(garage): same as normal just more an asshole
Jack(arena): circular saw go brrrrr
Marguerite: I’m built like a brick house boy!
Jack(Mutated): Hasn’t changed
Evie: also the same but pray to God you don’t run out of bullets

I just started madhouse and I recommend to get the circular saw first it really helps with amo saving and the molded are really easy to kill auspiciously the four leg ones

I'm now pleased to say I've beat this this mode without the saw. There was a time where I thought I couldn't get past Mia, but I persevered and did it.
Circular saw is your best friend in Madhouse, save a crap ton of bullets.

Pro tip:infinite ammo+44 MAG=so powerful because it'll make you really stronger so do that if you don't want to die

he can remove your leg in the other difficulty's i think he has an increased chance in madhouse
it appears only once in a normal playthrough
when your about to go under the house after unlocking the hatch, he'll show up in the room
if you let him attack you, he'll at some point cut off your leg, at which point he'll taunt you as you put it back on
I can't imagine madhouse without the unlockables
You might Aswell just jump out a window cuz that's ya best bet

By the way in resident evil 7, no matter who you play as you can cancel animations so when you heal, as soon as you see that you got health back press the guard button and you close the animation or when reloading once you see you have full ammo guard and you get out quicker so yeah quick tips

I got the leg animation on my first normal play through at the begining when you get the hatch key before the first fight
the Jack leg cut thing is not a madhouse exclusive it can happen on any difficulty it ONLY occurs if you didnt get your leg cut off by jack when you try to escape through the hatch :)

Btw jacks instakill move actually can happen on easy but when I did my run of madhouse he didn’t do the one shot move so he can do it on any difficulty but it’s usually more common on the lower difficultys
Edit: same thing with the leg chop move but it’s much more rare

2 Fat Molded bossfight was easy for me, I finished it without a single point of damage.
Just instantly as they appear, shoot 1 Neuro grenade round, it slows both of them down massively, then use the Double-Barrel, 2 quick headshots, break line of sight and reload both guns, wait for the acid stream attack to end, then fire another Neuro round and finish off with 2 Double-Barrel headshots. One Dead. Repeat on the second Fat Molded.
I played the game through assisted and normal multiple times before I attempted madhouse and actually didn’t find it super difficult because I had learned the game so well and only died 1 time because I wasn’t paying attention during the finale jack fight at the end when he grabs you
The problem is, I played resident evil 7 for the first time ON MADHOUSE DIFFICULTY AND LOST MY SANITY THROUGHOUT THE GOD DAMN GAME!
You need to Beat the game once to get madhouse though

I just beat madhouse, and I can also confirm in the cave, I did try to run away from the fat molded my climbing the ladder, it didn’t go well
I remember not having the inventory space for the chainsaw during that jack fight on madhouse because I forgot to drop off my spare gunpowder and herbs and stuff + zero chem fluid to be found led me to beating that fight with pocket knife when I ran out of ammo
And now I know that when I ran out of ammo I could have taken the chainsaw but I was panicked and didn’t think about if I had space now or not
You can hear the cries of "I want to die" from one of their voice. I don't know their names so please help me with that.
You get a lot more ammo in madhouse than easy, I found myself not running out of ammunition for the handgun at all, you get ALOT, so it is balanced with ammo.
Wait on the second jack boss fight he quick dodges he didn’t quick dodge once on my first and only madhouse run did I get extremely lucky?

When I played madhouse i had over 150 pistol rounds and when I killed the 2 far molded i had only 30 left and died 12 times in it

Actually Jack can cut your leg off in regular mode using the chainsaw it isn’t madhouse exclusive same thing with dodging so it’s just extra hit points
I would recommend getting the circular saw the secrets of defense and essence of defense
Before starting madhouse
I got Ethans leg cut off 4 times
1. the first time was the first time i played the game going into the hatch... ON EASY AND I DIED OF BLOODLOSS
2 and 3 happened within the same playthrough and it was the molded in the incinerator room after getting the key and then during the chainsaw boss I got it chopped off again
4. got it done on Madhouse going into the hatch
....the chainsaw is useless against the flying bugs so I just put it away for a bit
9:02 hold on to a neuro round for that like I did, just pop em, shoot the trap, and climb like the wind.
I got EVERY base game bonus even beating madhouse and i will NEVER DO THIS AGAIN
Fun Fact: I beat madhouse. It was a bitch. I jumped into it like two days after completing the game on normal.
WORST. MISTAKE. A. MAN. CAN. MAKE.
I went in with only two unlockables: The Albert-01R, and The Secrets of Defense.
Safe to say, I died a lot, but eventually I made it to the end. The amount of satisfaction I felt from beating it after slogging through the entire game, suffering at every turn, worrying about my saves... well, it's an experience that I can never forget. Especially when I'm glowing red without an herb praying to whatever fucking holy entity that exists that there's a health item around the next corner. I think I experienced a slight sliver of what classic RE might have been. :D
I just got to the salt mine and I can't get to the giant molded and when I do I die any tips to kill them? And I have amo and healing items but I still die
I recommend leading them near the entrance and shooting them with a Neuro round.
Also don't forget to shoot the tripmines on the ladder.

I actually got Jack to cut off Ethan's leg in both easy and normal difficulty, both times were after he knocked down the middle pillar

when playing madhouse i actually don't go for the assault and defense coins, i think of them as optional
I have a good strategy you can use for Evelyn. When you go outside, don't shoot her, wait for her to pick you up and say "I just wanted a family" and then keep shooting her

No that leg cut can happen on normal, I've died on normal to that
So when I killed jack UPSTAIRS I went down stairs to find coins for the magnum and when did he broke through the wall rememder I killed him upstairs WHAT.
i know its way later, but does the dirty coin from the secret ending for the demo help close the gap to get everything? i always thought the dirty coin was just a useful way to skip looking around for coins because i dont have the x-ray goggles

I'm currently playing through madhouse for the first time after beating village of shadows in RE8, and lemme say that madhouse is oh so much harder. I'm on the mine section and I'm taking like a 2 day break to try and figure out what I'm supposed to do lmao
A tip that carried me through madhouse is to spam circular saw. Having the secrets and essence of defense also helps a lot
In village of shadows re8 the only hard part was the Heisenberg fight

When I fought Marguerite in madhouse she was Easier then on easy difficulty or some reason
The first time I did Madhouse, it took me 10 and a half hours, I died God knows how many times
I got that animation in easy mode he cut off my leg but I had no meds and I bled out
Madhouse difficultly was kinda easy after the final boss fight with jack, I found the rest of the game easy, then I got infinite ammo and on my 100% play through run around with an infinite ammo magnum
