This is Nate Lacy's home recording of Shellacked In Tar. I do not own this music and it is posted for entertainment purposes only. All music by Mimicking Birds belongs to Nate Lacy, Tim Skellenger, and Aaron Hanson.

I think I've just listened to 15 songs in a row from these dudes...and truthfully I find this band extremely creative and a lot of their music is damn beautiful.

These songs were posted online for free along with early forms of most of the songs on their album for free by Nate Lacy before they were signed.

This band is great. Lyrics are meaningful... or mean nothing at all. It's great.

Josh Steel it’s all one person. These are Nate Lacy’s home recordings before he formed a band

I've never heard this song. It's very good but it would feel out of place on either of their albums. The harmonies remind me a bit of Fleet Foxes.
