  • Electric buses were introduced on London bus route 295 in May 2023. The route runs from Clapham Junction to Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's, and is operated by RATP Group from their Westbourne Park garage.

    Why did tfl not put a bage to see if its electric on the electric buses yet ?

      I think that small diamond shaped signs are being put on to the fronts of buses in the TfL area with different colours denoting the type of bus, ie grey for diesel and some hybrids, orange for electrics (denoting high voltage) and blue for hydrogen. I have seen a few buses with these signs already, it will take time to do all 8600 buses in London. The signs are primarily for emergency services so that they know what propulsion method the bus is using.

    Will be interesting to watch the Lithium ion Batteries explode when being Recharged like the ones in the Scooters

      Battery electric buses have been operating in London since at least 2014, there have not been any incidents regarding batteries catching fire as far as I am aware. Perhaps the scooter fires are down to poor maintenance on the part of the owners.
