The others look at him an start to think he's losing it. When in reality he understands the truth that you can't stop others from doing things that will get them killed. But you can remove dangerous things that hurt an kill people an keep them out of the hands of others. So keeping those things out of the hands of others is the number one priority. Not trying to keep everyone alive from the consequences of their own actions even if they die. But just him saying that makes the others question his moral compass.
