  • There is a lot of ways you can do eco dying. This is my way of doing it.
    The recipe: 10 teabags of Earl Gray tea, 1 cup white vinegar, some rusty bits and if you have it 5-6 small green walnuts. The whole bundle under water with a heavy brick or stone on top. Low simmering/hardly boiling for 1,5 hours.
    Link to the video on the book I made of the papers: • Eco dying on watercolo...

    Onion Skins red or yellow and dried Avocado skins will give different colors on your eco papers. Yellow for the yellow onions Purple for the red onions and pink with the Avocado skins

    • @lisbethdegn-dragenkunst

      I know, have dyed copy paper with onion skin. The avocado thing doesn’t give much and doesn’t stay the same color in the long run on fabric. Also I have mixed feelings about using avocados and other eatable things for dying, but just me.

    good morning, Beautiful art!! I am wondering on the vinegar amount. In the video you say 10 mil, but above it says 1 cup. What does the vinegar do? Which amount is correct? Is the water amount just to cover the bundle? Thanks so much! Can't wait to try!

    • @lisbethdegn-dragenkunst
      @lisbethdegn-dragenkunst  2 месяца назад

      I said I wrong in the video you need more ca. I cup. It isn’t necessary to that so exact. And yes just a couple of cm over. You can always fill more water ion the post if it’s get lower than the bundle. Don’t know why is works as it does (I am not a chemist) think it’s the acid in the vinegar. Thank you. And go for it.

    Det ser rigtig fint ud - jeg tror det grønne er der hvor planternes egne farvestoffer smitter af, måske fordi væsken ikke har kunnet trænge helt igennem netop der - jeg laver også en form for planteprint, men kun med planternes egne pigmenter, og der er meget grønt..
