Yes and no. Considering World Cup goals the comparison makes sense, but she has so much more… 3 consecutive FIFA player of the year (they didn’t have Balon D‘or for women back then), 2x world champion, 3x Champions League, 5x European champion, 9 German league titles and 10x dfb Pokal and the best German player of all time Not comparable as a player, but more like the Beckenbauer of woman’s football
One of the best woman players i ever saw, first time when she was 16, playing at midfield, dictating the whole game, laying the ball everywhere where she wanted
A role model in germans football. The best forwarder/striker in the german league and in the national team. Only 2011 in Germany was a mess, due to the decision of Silvia Neid. As a player she was amazing and one of the legends of 1. FFC Frankfurt.

Old times, better times, times of real German women playing soccer. It was the legendary German football, direct football and devastating attack with goalscorers like Birgit Prinz and Inka Grings. Now they play the absurd tiki taka, pure lateral passes without depth, they touch and touch the ball from one side to the other, a lot of possession and few goal opportunities, what happens then? The rival has less the ball but attacks more and wins as they just happened against Colombia in Australia New Zealand 2023.
