I just revisited this two years later, and over this time Maison has become possibly one of the most amazing players on the planet. His work with Jon Scales is up there with all the greats of our time. And the best part is that Maison's fire and intensity is even more focused; his flame has eclipsed the heat range of the business end of a plasma cutter. He's mastering the art of folding in all the pyrotechnics and "drum-centric" stuff that appeals to the arcane, but all the while it's so damn musical it can keep anyone entertained. Then there's the "visual Maison". So much fun to watch! All that energy and life force in a controlled and fierce but fun and friendly manner.
As I grow older and wiser as a musician I appreciate those who can play the "silence" as well as the notes. There's a delicate balance that exists and the ability to contrast the two sides is something that a lot of players don't "get" until they're well into their 40's.
the musicality in your playing is amazing bro.....you kept your identity but showed a lot of MATURITY for this vid....VERY tasteful....your best vid in my book #Encore
Typically the kind of situation where you go: 'where's the 1000 likes button?' What a track! The Human being showing what it is capable of doing with excellence and hard work...!
Man this 8s fuckin cru8sin highway jams!! I aint drove in 10 years damn its killin me. Shit I cant even jam my guitar along with this Im so fuckin surrounded by haters.
Awesome! Can someone chime in about time signatures...and the groove at 0:30? Looks like the LF and RH are intentionally playing ever so slightly off each other...
The groove is in 6/4! and i would presume that the slight displacement of either the LF or RH is done to create a richer rhythmic texture with the dissonance that it provides :^)
Mono Neon and Maison guidry should link up and jam for RUclips fans Right peoples !!
thumbs up to make it happen
cool drumming

The amount of restraint and musicality you display here is to be commended. There's spots where you could have just launched to Pluto, but didn't.
But admit it, some part of you wanted that, right? ;)

It's as if the Dillenger Esape Plan featuring Herbie Hancock made a Zelda soundtrack.
When I heard this on monos channel it reminds me of Holdsworth and Jan Hammer
