Besides Pikachu, the other Pokémon at 1:42 from left to right are Tepig, Emolga, Munna, Victini (Victini's ears make a big V so that's an easy way to remember), Oshawott, and Pansage! While Pikachu's a Gen 1 Pokémon, the others are Gen 5 (Pokémon Black/White) from Unova! Tepig and Oshawott are both Unova starters, while the Grass-type Unova starter is Snivy, the one next to Pikachu at Orikabe station at 5:40. Victini on the other hand is a Mythical Pokémon! Its appearance is based on usagi-ringo, a method of cutting apple slices to make them look similar to rabbits. This is a reference to NYC's nickname of the Big Apple as Unova is based off NYC. Conceptually, Victini draws inspiration from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, and its tail wings reference Nike's wings.
Love that this train has a play area! More trains should have one! The reason the Pokémon with You Train exists on the Ōfunato Line in Iwate Prefecture in particular is because of the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami that happened in 2011. That especially devastated this region, and the Ōfunato Line was one of many lines significantly damaged by the disaster, with nearly half of the original tracks replaced by a bus rapid transit service. So to both boost tourism to the region and to give local children something to look forward to as their community was devastated, this train became a thing in 2012!

I really like the details put into making this whole Pikachu experience, from decorating the outside and inside of the train to the conductor stamp to the announcement to even in the station. Cuteness overload. Ya, I would like this Pikachu train.

i haven’t watched pokémon since i was a kid, but as an adult it’s absolutely terrifying hearing pikachu yell profusely during a train ride which is supposed to be calm! is ash still a kid? the dude should be about my age now 😂

What a wonderful idea, Scandinavian trains have children’s areas, why can’t United Kingdom trains think of these sort of ideas for making journey’s more interesting and attract families for days out.
the IC3-trains do have a children's area.. but don't book a seat there, if you have hangovers..

Hey, i wonder if you can try the Indonesian Sleeper Class on Argo Semeru train if you in any ocassion have plans to go there. It was a really luxorious train and will be a great experience.

Have to agree Kuga-san, the lack of power outlets (and the taunting Pikachu) are indeed a drawback. (Although if children are playing and getting too close to Pikachu, I can see why there aren't any.)

Middle aged white Canadian male here...frankly never got the Pokemon concept and never played the games or watched the tv show/movies. But hey, always cool watching your channel.
It's largely a nostalgia thing, if you didn't grow up watching the show or playing the games it makes sense that you don't understand.
@@Lux_Ferox I watched the movie (the one where Ash "dies" and Pikachu starts crying) and Detective Pikachu, but that's the most Pokemon I have ever watched. Just could not get into it. And, yes, I am a '90s kid.
